Chapter 1 The Master of Metaphysics Returns to Age 18
"It's really hard to guard against a thief in your own home even if you have to guard against him day and night!"
On a night of heavy rain and thunder, Chen Wan was once again rudely pushed out of the house by the servant. His thin body staggered and fell heavily down the stairs.
The girl didn't care about her bleeding knees. She was afraid of being abandoned. She knelt down in panic and cried heartbreakingly in the heavy rain, "Dad, I didn't steal my sister Jiaojiao's Cartier..."
Shen Jianming stood under the eaves and scolded them angrily, "Those who come from the ravines are not clean! Kneel outside and let the rain wash away your dirty heart. When the day breaks, I will send you back to the ravines. You will have to live a hard life for a few days and then you will know how to repent!"
When the girl heard that she was going to be sent back, she turned pale with fright and kowtowed tremblingly.
"Dad, please believe me, I really didn't steal..."
With a bang, the door closed.
She raised her head and looked at the closed door of her house sadly and helplessly, then looked down at her arms which were covered with whip marks. Her pale and thin face was full of despair.
I don’t know how long I knelt, but it was almost late at night.
Footsteps came from behind.
The girl looked back weakly.
It was Shen Changfeng, the eldest son of the Shen family, who returned.
He was dressed in a suit and holding a black umbrella. He walked over with an expressionless face, not even glancing at the kneeling girl, as if he was used to it.
The girl wanted to grab Shen Changfeng's trouser leg as if she had seen a life-saving straw, but she remembered that he had mysophobia and never allowed outsiders to touch him.
She had just stretched out her hand, but then she retracted it tremblingly.
"Big brother, can you please ask father for me? I really didn't steal my sister's Cartier. I don't even know what Cartier is..."
Shen Changfeng seemed not to hear her call for help and just walked over.
"Big brother!" Shen Wan cried, rushed over desperately and hugged Shen Changfeng's ankle.
Shen Changfeng paused, without even turning his head, and said in an extremely cold voice: "Let go, it's dirty."
"I don't want to be sent back. I will be beaten to death by that drunkard. Big brother, please help me, just once, for the last time..."
Chen Wan had been kneeling in the heavy rain for several hours and had run out of strength. His voice was weak by the end of his speech.
Listening to the girl's hypocritical and pitiful begging, Shen Changfeng thought of the time when she first came to this house, she stole everyone's things and hid them under the bed.
Now his old habit has come back again, and the way he refuses to admit it makes him feel annoyed.
"You said you didn't steal, why did everyone accuse you of stealing?"
"If one person says you are wrong, it may be that the other party is framing you, but what if everyone says you stole it?"
"Chen Wan, my Shen family has never produced someone with such bad behavior as you. You really bring shame to our family."
"If you want to prove your innocence, go ahead and die."
After Shen Changfeng finished speaking, he walked into the house without looking back.
Chen Wan stood there in despair, staring blankly at the door that once again separated her, and then she propped herself up and staggered to her feet.
Turning around, you will see unique and valuable landscape stones next to you.
She remembered that when she first came to this house, she saw this beautiful stone and wanted to touch it, but was scolded by Shen Jiaojiao, saying that the stone was very expensive and she couldn't afford it even if she sold it.
Well, this stone is very expensive and she can’t dirty it, otherwise her family will be unhappy.
Shen Wan was distraught and stumbled towards the corner.
Boom!
A thunderclap drowned out the girl's voice as she died to prove her innocence.
The next day.
Crematorium morgue.
The staff had just put the girl into a body bag, placed her in the coffin, and were about to push her away for cremation.
A cold and sharp voice came from the coffin.
"Crack the earth, shatter the soil, drive away evil and remove obstacles, break—"
As the sound fell, the coffin lid suddenly flew up.
"Fuck, he's faking his death!"
The staff member was so frightened that he collapsed on the ground and watched a pale and skinny hand sticking out from the body bag.
"ah--"
Ten minutes later, the staff finally believed that the girl was just pretending to be dead due to the impact and was not completely dead.
"If I had known you were not dead, I should have stitched up the wound on your head. How about I take you to the hospital for further treatment?"
Shen Wan touched the cut on his forehead. The stitches were fine and dense, so it was okay.
"No."
The staff felt sorry for the girl because she was so skinny due to malnutrition. They handed her a bottle of milk and asked, "Do you have any family members alive? What about your friends? Do you remember their phone number? I'll call them and ask them to pick you up?"
The person who brought her here just said that he didn't want the ashes and left, without any other identifying information.
It is obvious that this poor girl has no relatives or friends. How pitiful!
Chen Wan was so hungry that he couldn't walk. He sat there and drank his milk obediently before looking up at the staff in front of him.
"If the sun and moon corners collapse, your parents will be ill and unwell. If your moon corner is low, your mother will be in poor health. If you go to the hospital early, you only need to take medicine and she will be fine. If you delay, she will have to go to the operation table and she will be in danger of death."
The staff member was confused: "Ah? What are you talking about, little girl?"
"Let's go. Consider these words as a favor for your bottle of milk." Shen Wan stood up and walked out.
The crematorium was far away from the city. Shen Wan leaned against a tree trunk by the roadside with one hand in his pocket, a nonchalant look on his pale face.
She looked down at the whip marks on her hands, and her young face showed an unusual coldness.
"I was reborn..."
She is Chen Wan, but she is the metaphysical master Chen Wan from thirty years later.
She remembered that she had just turned eighteen at this time and had lived in the mountains for eighteen years. A year ago, she was suddenly found by Shen Huaian, the richest man in Jiangcheng, who said she was his granddaughter and brought her from the mountains to the prosperous Jiangcheng.
Although she returned to her biological father's side this year, she was never taken seriously.
Any trivial matter that happens at home can be blamed on her.
During the 18 years she spent in the countryside, her adoptive father was a drunkard and gambler, and her adoptive mother was cowardly and incompetent, who only knew how to accept everything. This led to her low self-esteem since childhood and the development of a people-pleasing personality.
So after arriving in Jiangcheng, she tried her best to please everyone in the family. Although she had lived in the richest man's house for a year, she lived like a slave, bowing and scraping, and could not eat well. She looked malnourished and pale.
This time she was kicked out of the house again because her sixth sister Shen Jiaojiao accused her of stealing the necklace.
No one in the Shen family would listen to her explanation and they all believed that she was a thief addicted to stealing.
Everyone watched coldly as Shen Jiaojiao whipped her with a horsewhip, humiliating her in public and crushing her dignity.
Shen Wan remembered that in order to prove her innocence, she hit her head against the wall and fainted.
When he woke up, he was lying in the garden with no one paying attention to him. He was not at the crematorium.
Shen Wan raised her eyes slightly and just happened to see the staff from the crematorium driving over.
"Little girl, you are really amazing. I called my mother and she said she had a stomachache and refused to go to the hospital. I thought of what you said and asked her to go for a check-up. It turned out that she had inflammation. Fortunately, it was discovered in time and she could get better by taking medicine. Little girl, how can I thank you?"
The staff member looked at her with gratitude and said.
The corners of Shen Wan's pale mouth curled up slightly, "Brother, please take me home."
