Chapter 13: The Taoist of Nanyang

"There's something wrong with the feng shui of this house. It's not meant for living people at all." Yun Wanwan frowned and said bluntly.

Yun Yaoyao was laughing secretly, and when she heard this, she immediately said, "Sister, don't talk nonsense. This is the house that mother bought for you personally. How can you say that?"

Gu Pingge's expression also turned pale. "Wanwan, you are so ignorant! Do you know that I carefully selected this house to buy for you?"

"It's certainly not easy to carefully select a haunted house." Yun Wanwan chuckled. "After all, it's not easy to find a haunted house modeled after a charity cemetery on the street these days. Mother, you've really worked hard."

This was obviously her biological mother, but the things she did were not at all like those of a biological mother.

Yun Yaoyao knew that Yun Wanwan must have noticed the problem with the house, but what if she did?

You are just a girl after all. Do you think you can do anything just because you know a few magic tricks?

"You keep saying the house your mother bought you is haunted. Do you know how sad this makes your mother? How can you defame someone's innocence out of thin air?"

Yun Yaoyao's words were so righteous that anyone who heard them would probably cry because of her filial piety.

Gu Pingge also shed tears. She patted Yun Yaoyao's hand and sighed, "Yaoyao, forget it. I'm a mother, and my daughter said that. Maybe I'm such a failure as a mother that my own daughter actually holds such a grudge against me."

"Mother, don't say that. After all, my sister has always been in the countryside. It's understandable that she is not sensible now." Yun Yaoyao burst into tears.

Yun Wanwan was nearly vomiting from the mother-daughter drama. "What's the point of you two singing the same tune here? Even if you both cry your hearts out today, this house will still be a haunted place for the dead!"

"Sister, stop talking nonsense. Mother specially went to find a Taoist priest who is famous in the capital. He said long ago that this house is a rare and auspicious house. Whoever lives in it will definitely be rich and prosperous!"

Yun Wanwan raised an eyebrow. "I'd really like to know what kind of Taoist priest could call this house an auspicious one."

Yun Yaoyao snorted coldly, "Of course it's the most famous Taoist Nanyang in the capital."

Yun Wanwan had heard of the name of Taoist Nanyang, and only knew that he was a very famous Taoist.

But now it seems that this Taoist priest may not really have the ability.

Seeing Yun Wanwan's disbelief, Yun Yaoyao said, "Since you don't believe it, why not ask Taoist Nanyang to come over and explain it to you."

"That's fine. Then go ahead." Yun Wanwan said to the maid beside Yun Yaoyao.

The maid was a little unhappy, but still nodded and turned away.

Entering the house, the eerie feeling became even more intense. Yun Yaoyao strode in and subconsciously wanted to sit in the main seat.

Yun Wanwan observed her movements and sneered, "Yun Yaoyao, are you still asleep? This house is mine after all. Where do you want to sit now?"

Yun Yaoyao paused and bit her lower lip, but thinking of how it would embarrass Yun Wanwan later, she forced herself to hold it in. "Thank you for reminding me, sister. I really shouldn't be sitting here."

She turned around and sat aside, motioning Yun Wanwan to come sit over there.

Not long after Yun Wanwan sat down, the maid came over with Taoist Nanyang.

As soon as Taoist Nanyang entered, he bowed to Gu Pingge and said, "Greetings, Madam Yun. I wonder what Madam Yun wants me to do?"

Yun Wanwan noticed that he had deliberately ignored her, who was sitting in the main seat. Her expression grew even colder, and she said coldly, "Master Nanyang, it's me who's looking for you."

Taoist Nanyang then looked at Yun Wanwan, a puzzled expression on his face. "I wonder what this young lady wants to talk to me about?"

Yun Wanwan could tell that Taoist Nanyang was deliberately trying to upset her, so she simply smiled and said, "I just heard Taoist Nanyang say that it's only now that I realize the feng shui is excellent, so I wanted to ask about it in detail."

Taoist Nanyang looked around the house and turned around and said, "I've checked the feng shui of this place before. It's indeed the best house in the capital. Why, young lady, do you have any questions?"

Yun Wanwan sneered, "I wonder why the chief thought this house had such good feng shui. Could you tell me more about it?"

The Taoist priest from Nanyang had a look of deep secrecy on his face. "Young lady, you probably don't understand these things. What's the point of me telling you?"

"Since the Taoist priest doesn't want to talk, then let me explain." Yun Wanwan stood up and pointed at the gate. "The gate faces southwest, which is the most unlucky location. I don't need to say anything else, right?"

The front door faces southwest, which is the inner ghost door. The house will become dark and damp, which is why they feel so cold now.

Taoist Nanyang laughed: "It's just an ordinary location, and you're determined to call this house a haunted house?"

Yun Wanwan pointed overhead. "There's a beam on the ceiling of the main hall, and it's facing the main seat. Isn't that unlucky?"

Taoist Nanyang obviously didn't expect that Yun Wanwan was actually quite knowledgeable about Feng Shui, but he actually didn't understand much about it.

He only knew some basic Feng Shui, and by some accident he helped a family gain wealth, which is why he became so famous in the capital.

Although what Yun Wanwan said was just the beginning, he had already forgotten it completely.

After all, with fame, wealth and vanity right in front of us, who would remember what they have learned?

It was precisely because he didn't understand these things that he thought Yun Wanwan was just talking nonsense. Besides, Yun Wanwan was a woman, how could she possibly understand these things?

Therefore, he had a look of contempt on his face. "You think you can change the feng shui of this house with just a few random words? Don't I know more than you do? If I remember correctly, you should be Miss Yun. A woman who dares to say that she knows feng shui? What a joke!"

"So is the feng shui of this house really bad?" Yun Wanwan stepped forward and looked closely at Taoist Nanyang's expression.

Taoist Nanyang was frightened by her and took a step back. Then, feeling truly ashamed, he said, "She's just a woman, what do you know? I'm the most famous Taoist priest in the capital. Almost all the princes and nobles come to me for feng shui. Why do you have so many questions?"

"That's because they don't understand. But I can see the feng shui problem at a glance. But you... you don't understand feng shui at all!"

After Yun Wanwan's ruthless revelation, Taoist Nanyang felt a burning pain on his face. He subconsciously retorted, "You're just a woman. You don't understand these things just because you say you do. I think you've only learned the basics, yet you're saying these harsh words to me?"
