Chapter 120: Finale
After returning to the mansion, Lu Qiaoxiao immediately handed the small bottle to Xiao Mi and others to take a look.
No one can determine what the ingredients of the drug are, and no one dares to make a decision on their own.
After a while, Lu Qiaoxiao slowly raised his eyes, his voice surprisingly calm:
"Let me ask you all, if we don't take medicine, how long can Changjue's illness last?"
Xiao Mi frowned and said dejectedly, "Three months at most, but this disease is so dangerous and hard to predict, I'm afraid it's hard to say for sure."
Lu Qiaoxiao took a deep breath and said softly, "Use the medicine."
She walked to the bed, gently held Shen Yuheng's hand, looked at his slightly pale face, and felt a lot more relieved in her heart.
At worst, she would go with him. She had nothing to fear from dying just once.
Strangely enough, Shen Yuheng's complexion improved day by day after he took the medicine that day. The doctors took his pulse, and the pulse gradually became smooth and stable from the initial dangerous and weak pulse.
Everyone was surprised. Could this medicine really be a miracle drug?
Can it actually bring people back to life?
.
A year later,
On an unknown river in an unknown mountain or river, a small boat slowly passed by, and on the boat stood a woman with a slim figure and outstanding temperament.
Wrapped in a sky-blue robe of mist, her long hair fluttered in the wind, like a painting blending the mountains, rivers, world and sky.
"Heng, look! That mountain looks like an elephant's trunk!"
The woman raised her hand and pointed at the distant mountain. Her sleeves slid down, revealing a string of sandalwood Buddhist beads.
Hearing the sound, the man leaned out of the cabin and stood side by side with the woman. While admiring the beautiful scenery, he quietly put her hand into his sleeve and squeezed it again and again.
The woman's face flushed red as she glanced at him angrily, "The doctor said you need to take good care of yourself. Even though the cold poison is showing signs of being cured, you still need to take care of yourself and not overindulge yourself."
The man showed a meaningful smile on his face. He turned his head and looked at the woman beside him: "Qingzhi, your husband knows."
"But..." the man suddenly leaned closer, "The doctor also said that a cheerful mood can help the pain go away faster."
"Besides, I have a cold poison. How can the medicine cure it if I don't warm myself up?"
This is so ambiguous that it tickles my heart.
It’s simply——
Lu Qiaoxiao sometimes wondered what it was that made Shen Yuheng break her perception of him again and again?
In the past, she only thought that people are born with the desire for food and sex. She could understand Shen Yuheng's double-faced nature of being aloof and upright in front of others, but flirting and making people speculate behind their backs.
But now——
Because in this natural world of mountains and rivers, the scenery before our eyes is simple and peaceful.
How could he shamelessly give her so many hints???
Without waiting for her to open her mouth to teach him a lesson, Shen Yuheng took the lead and took her into his arms, rubbing his chin against her shoulder for a long time, which made her heart melt and the anger she had suffered from the back pain yesterday disappeared.
The sunlight shone down like a veil, warming Lu Qiaoxiao's shoulders. Like a sleepy cat, he put all his strength on the person in front of him, feeling so comfortable that he almost fell asleep.
There was a faint whisper in my ear:
"Qingzhi, I am so lucky to have you in my life."
The man's whisper softened into the wind, and like a small boat between heaven and earth, it rushed towards the rivers, lakes and seas.
Endless Life
postscript:
Crown Prince Wei Mingzhu of the Eastern Palace succeeded to the throne and was named King Huizheng. After the new king ascended the throne, the reign was changed to the first year of Tianhe.
In the third year of Tianhe, King Huizheng ordered the burning of Buddhist temples, launching an unprecedented campaign of killing monks and reclaiming all the land under Buddhist and Taoist temples.
In the ninth year of Tianhe, Prime Minister Shen and Commander Lu returned to the court, went on an expedition to quell the rebellion, recovered the thirteen fiefdoms on the southern border, traveled all over Jiulian City in Xiliang, and rebuilt the friendly alliance between the two countries.
In the 15th year of Tianhe, under the leadership of King Huizheng, the most magnificent prosperous era in the past three generations was created, which is known in history as the "Yuanhe Prosperity".

A few random thoughts and answers to questions about the book:
I hope that many readers will feel a sense of wanting more after reading this (my ending was abrupt and hasty). There are several foreshadowings in the text that were not well explained or concluded, perhaps due to my limited writing skills or the outline being not detailed enough.
Because I'm a new author, I was still vague about the outline when I wrote this manuscript, so I just wrote whatever came to me (don't hit me, woo woo). I estimated it to be 300,000 words, but it failed in the second round of PK. Fortunately, there are still my dear friends who come to read it every day, giving me the strength to update and finish the story. Thank you.
But I hope you will like the story of Prime Minister Shen and baby Qiao Xiao. This is the meaning of my love for not passing the PK, and my original intention is to be responsible for every character I write.
Next, I would like to explain a few points here, hoping to provide some additional inspiration for those of you who have finished reading this book:
Regarding the character Shen Yuheng, he is a genius who comes from an aristocratic family and follows the rules. This is why he is not paid attention to by Lu Qiaoxiao, who does not meet everyone's standards for a lady from an aristocratic family.
Sincerity, warmth, kindness, the ability to break the rules of the world, and the disregard for others' opinions, these qualities are still very worthy of being loved in modern times. It is very rare for Qiao Xiaobao to possess all of them as an ancient person! (You can find clues in the personalities of Qiao's mother and grandmother's family)
Not to mention how difficult it is for people who grow up in the aristocratic education system to acquire these precious qualities.
The reason why Chen Xiang did not disturb Qiao Xiaobao's life in the previous life was because Qiao Xiaobao liked Pei Jinxuan too directly and passionately!
If she had any hesitation or concerns, Xiao Shen might have already taken action. This is why in his second life, Shen Yuheng approached her without hesitation after learning that Lu Qiaoxiao had broken off the engagement, and he relentlessly induced and enlightened her, trying to trick her into marrying him.
Even though Xiao Shen didn't have the perspective of his past life, his love for Qiao Xiaobao was immense, and it wasn't selfless. In short, as long as he could find a gap, he would squeeze in.
Regarding the fact that Chen Xiang died on the battlefield in the previous life, my personal understanding is that when he went to the battlefield, he already had the intention to die.
The reason has a lot to do with Lu Qiaoxiao's tragic death:
Regarding Lu Qiaoxiao's death, Shen Yuheng felt grief in his previous life. Because of the death of his beloved, his heart also returned to the indifference it had before he met her and liked her - just like the movie "Me Before You", the hero was flammable and explosive before he met the heroine, but the heroine was the antidote in his life, so it was inevitable that the heroine would save his dead heart.
It can be understood that Lu Qiaoxiao is a bright color in Shen Yuheng's gray and boring life. However, it is such a sad thing for Xiao Shen to witness with his own eyes the gradual demise of his beloved woman under traditional and closed ideas.
Moreover, I tend to believe that Prime Minister Xiao Shen has a certain awareness. He realizes that this cannibalistic, feudal system is one of the reasons for imprisoning and destroying the heroine's life, but for a thorough ancient man, this is just a shallow awakening of his consciousness.
The second point is why Shen Yuheng wanted to die. Because in his subconscious, Lu Qiaoxiao's ending was also related to himself.
As Chen Xiang, who loved Lu Qiaoxiao with all his heart but dared not get close to her or disturb her, he regretted why he had not been a little more aggressive and assertive. If he had snatched Qiaoxiao away earlier, she would not have ended up in such a tragic way.
This also explains why Prime Minister Shen went crazy and wanted to kill everyone in the Pei family with his own hands.
Dying for his country is consistent with his identity as a powerful and loyal minister who was brought up in a traditional aristocratic family. It also conforms to his psychology as a son and can make his parents more accepting of his death.
This was also the last time he hid and declared his deep love for Lu Qiaoxiao.
Let’s talk about the fifth prince Wei Ran.
His identity is easy to understand: a time traveler with a system mission to seek revenge.
However, he was attracted to a pure-blooded woman from ancient feudal society.
The text does not explain his background before he traveled through time, but through the fact that he was willing to stay in this ancient dynasty forever in exchange for Shen Yuheng's life so that Lu Qiaoxiao could grow old with the one he loved, it can be inferred that he is also an unloved and carefree person in modern times. This is why Wei Ran was willing to keep a low profile and lie dormant for a long time in the planning of the Prince of Pingyang and the Prince of Ding'an.
He is a person who stands in darkness, but looks up to the light——
Even if that light never shone on him.
Regarding Master Yuanyi, he was a "person" who transcended worldly cognition, could see through things, and get ahead of others. His ending was not pointed out in the text, but I personally believe that he passed away.
Because it is difficult for practitioners who have seen through and pointed out too many opportunities to live long, or to have a good end.
Princess Wei Mingzhu is a character I want to write a separate article about in the future. There are too many words to describe here hhhhh~ In short, she is a bright and scheming woman (scheming here is positive!!!)
Regarding Qiao's mother and Doctor Xiao, the story doesn't clearly outline their relationship. Is this because, after all, there's a nominally scumbag husband at home (not really?). Is their flirting and then getting together a kind of punishment for the heroine's scumbag father? Is this a critique of the feudal dynasty's polygamy?
Finally, about the heroine’s feelings for the hero.
In the previous life, the heroine and the hero met at the Imperial College. Xiao Shen had cold eyes and eyebrows, and was born with the temperament of a superior. The heroine would instinctively feel awe when she saw him, and would never dare to covet such a person.
But due to the experiences in her previous life, the heroine's need for love can be said to have been greatly weakened. At least she is no longer eager and spontaneous to give herself completely.
Therefore, in the second life, the reason why Qiao Xiaobao and Shen Xiang were together in the beginning was indeed because of the desire to curry favor with someone and repay a favor.
But that’s just how people are. When the cold and aloof disguise was peeled off layer by layer, Lu Qiaoxiao discovered Shen Yuheng’s flaws layer by layer, just like opening a blind box - this was completely opposite to the impression she had of Shen Yuheng in her previous life!!!
So when feelings come, they will be strong and contrasting.
Just like the portrait of the male protagonist that readers like, he always appears aloof but actually cares a lot inside, which is much better than the character who is gentle and considerate throughout the whole process.
Hehe, I won’t explain Pei Er’s words here. He has been chasing the sun all his life (utilitarianism or the object of admiration is like a sinking figure), and in the end he found that the rising red sun behind him had warmed him for so long. Losing it rashly is much more terrifying than never having it at all.
Therefore, he deserves to be treated as cheap as grass for his belated affection. What's more, this is not affection, but just a kind of regret and paranoia for something that is unattainable, combined with his already somewhat dark and negative outlook on life.
The control group, like Shen Yuheng, he is a very good person...
Hehehe, the story ends here. It's actually not easy. If the books on this platform can't pass the PK, I won't recommend them. I wrote this book purely to give the characters in the book a more satisfactory ending and to have readers who will stick to reading it (because the manuscripts only end here, and I'm reluctant to say goodbye), and I'm already very satisfied.
Please be gentle with your criticism of the loopholes and logic in the plot line. The above is the supplementary text. If you have any questions, you can always TT me in the comment section.
Hehe, also, here's a little advert (not a ——) for a new book: [The Prince is a Crazy Puppy! He Loves to Play Neck-Neck Pampering] It's a story about a yandere hero and a lively, bright heroine. The hero in this book isn't as righteous as Shen Yuheng, so he's considered relatively bright and cheerful. The hero in the new book is a bit shady... or maybe a bit of an old man with an extreme personality. Later on, there's a plot about chasing his wife to the crematorium. If you're interested, you can check it out.
Finally, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the readers who have walked this far with me! Thank you for your continued support! During these times when I was writing for the love of writing without recommendations or comments, you gave me the motivation to keep writing! I bow solemnly and with tears in my eyes!
The story always has an ending, but the characters don't——
Thank you for your anticipation.
