Chapter 51 Prince An Guo
Gu Jin's voice rang out behind her, but Gu Shuyan could no longer hear it.
She quickly arrived at the place where flowers were in full bloom, a gentle breeze was blowing, and the flowers were in perfect bloom.
Gu Shuyan plucked a brightly colored hibiscus flower and pinned it to her hair. Then, she spread her arms and began to dance in the flower field.
Bees and butterflies fluttered, and clothes danced in the breeze!
The woman, like a fairy who had mistakenly descended to the mortal world, lingered among the flowers, captivating all who looked at her.
Unbeknownst to him, the man in the wheelchair was completely absorbed in watching Gu Shuyan dancing gracefully in the flower field.
"Your Highness, we should go back now."
The guard's voice rang in his ears, but the person in the wheelchair did not hear it.
"Your Highness."
The guard called out again, and the man finally came to his senses.
"Xu Feng, push me over there."
The man pointed to where Gu Shuyan was and gave instructions to Xu Feng.
Xu Feng glanced at the woman in the flower bushes, and although he was puzzled, he still pushed her towards him.
Noticing someone approaching, Gu Shuyan quickly stopped and looked at the person.
With just one glance, Gu Shuyan guessed the man's identity.
"Young Master Luo."
Gu Shuyan gave the man a slight bow.
The man was somewhat surprised upon hearing this, but he quickly realized what was going on.
Touching the silver mask on his face, Luo Yu chuckled self-deprecatingly, "It really is inconvenient."
Sensing the change in the other person's emotions, Gu Shuyan touched her head shyly.
"Why is Prince Luo here? Is he also here to sweep the tombs?"
When the topic of tomb sweeping came up, Luo Yu became somber, and an intense sadness emanated from him, as if it would make heaven and earth weep.
Seeing the man in front of her, wearing a silver mask, so sorrowful, Gu Shuyan felt a pang of sympathy for him for some reason.
In their previous life, Luo Yu died the day after Gu Yingxue entered the manor, so they never crossed paths.
However, Gu Shuyan had heard some things about Prince Luo.
Luo Yu, the eldest son of the Duke of Anguo and the only son of the eldest princess, was personally named the heir apparent of the Duke of Anguo by the emperor at birth.
Yet this person, of such noble birth and who should have been showered with love from birth, lost his loving mother less than a year after his birth.
Three years later, the Duke of Anguo was praying for the Princess in his mansion when Luo Yu accidentally knocked over a candle, setting the room ablaze and nearly burning himself to death.
At the age of six, Luo Yu was naughty and playful, and accidentally fell into the water and almost drowned.
When Luo Yu finally turned nine, he went out to sweep the tomb of the eldest princess, but fell off the carriage on the way and crippled both his legs.
From then on, rumors spread throughout the capital, saying that Luo Yu was a rare and cursed star, who brought misfortune not to his relatives or elders, but only to himself.
Unable to withstand the double blow of physical and verbal abuse, the young man from the Luo family never left the mansion again, never attended banquets, and even refused to see his father.
Even when she occasionally comes out to meet people, she always wears a mask and never shows her true face.
Putting herself in Gu Shuyan's shoes, if she saw her son having to endure all this at such a young age, she would probably be heartbroken.
However, upon seeing the legendary Prince Luo in person, Gu Shuyan felt that he seemed to be slightly different from the rumors.
"Why are you staring at me, young lady?"
Gu Shuyan was so engrossed in her thoughts that she unconsciously stared at Luo Yu for a long time.
Feeling a little embarrassed by being called out to her face, Gu Shuyan said, "I was wondering why you were the only one who went out to sweep the tombs, Your Highness."
She hadn't forgotten that Luo Yu's mother was the eldest princess.
