Chapter 62 Early Congratulations
It wasn't until Mingyu personally escorted the embroiderer out of the mansion that the two looked at Gu Shuyan with puzzlement.
“Miss, since you don’t want others to know about the brocade, why not have someone from the manor make it? Having an embroiderer watch her make it would be too obvious and would only arouse her suspicion.”
Gu Shuyan knew that her actions made her too suspicious, but she had her reasons for doing so.
"It's alright. Just remember that this brocade was bought on the street. As for the embroiderer, I trust she won't lie."
Seeing Gu Shuyan's certainty, the two of them didn't ask any more questions, even if they still had doubts.
Just as Gu Shuyan had said, the embroiderer, though suspicious, did not mention to anyone that Gu Shuyan had asked her to make clothes.
It was as if nothing had ever happened.
The next day, a carriage was parked outside the Marquis's residence early in the morning.
As the servants gradually loaded things onto the carriage, Gu Shuyan stood quietly by the door, waiting.
After Ji had finished putting away the things she had prepared for the two of them, Gu Renjie and Gu Yingjie arrived hand in hand.
"Why is my little sister up so early?"
Seeing that Gu Shuyan seemed to have been waiting for a long time, Gu Yingjie reached out and ruffled her hair.
"Second brother, your hair has come undone."
Gu Shuyan pouted, looking unhappy, but Gu Yingjie didn't care and continued to wantonly ruffle her hair.
Gu Shuyan asked Pearl to bring over the wrapped clothes and said, "These are gifts that your younger sister prepared for your older brothers, as an early congratulations on your success in the imperial examinations."

Despite saying that, Gu Yingjie still carefully took the package that Gu Shuyan handed him.

Seeing that Gu Yingjie was going on and on, Gu Renjie's expression turned cold and he interrupted him directly.
After taking the package from Gu Shuyan, the two brothers bowed to Ji Shi to say goodbye before boarding the carriage to the examination hall.
After watching the two leave, the mother and daughter returned to the main courtyard together.
Ji Shi thought that seeing her two older brothers off would make things easier. But as soon as she entered the room, Ji Shi gave orders that she would bathe and fast in order to pray for the two brothers to pass the imperial examinations.
Seeing Ji Shi's constant fuss, Gu Shuyan wanted to say a few words of advice, but in the end she swallowed her words.
She had been a mother herself, so she understood Ji's behavior. A mother worries when her son travels far, and she should be grateful that she and her two siblings had such a good mother.
Two days later, in the early morning.
Gu Shuyan was having breakfast with the old lady in Yunxiang Courtyard as usual when a sudden wave of dizziness hit her, and she immediately fainted on the table.
Seeing her beloved granddaughter suddenly faint, the old lady was immediately terrified and quickly sent her maid to fetch a doctor.
However, the doctor only glanced at it before shaking his head and leaving.
Seeing Gu Shuyan unconscious, the old lady was frantic and hurriedly took out her token to send someone to fetch the imperial physician.
Upon hearing the news that Gu Shuyan had fainted, the Ji family rushed over immediately.
"Mother, how is Shuer?"
Ji looked at Gu Shuyan lying on the bed, who was unsteady on her feet.
