Chapter 87 Who are you?
"Miss, where are we going?"
After wandering aimlessly in the courtyard for a while, Fei'er finally couldn't help but remind her.
Gu Yingxue looked around at the secluded path without even a streetlamp and realized that she had walked quite far. "Let's go there."
Pointing to a place with lights not far away, the master and servant slowly approached with lanterns in hand.
Pushing open the door, one is greeted by a simple house, its furnishings old and worn, as if it had not been maintained for many years.
However, the house was spotless and clean, and it didn't look like anyone lived there.
"What kind of place is this? Does the Marquis's residence even have such a place?"
Gu Yingxue had lived in the Marquis's mansion for fifteen years, yet she was unaware that someone else lived in this secluded courtyard.
It wasn't that she didn't know; rather, as a former young lady from a wealthy family, she would never have bothered to come to such a remote place, let alone care whether anyone lived there.
Curiously looking around, Gu Yingxue stepped into the house.
There was a person lying on the bed, her hair disheveled, making it impossible to see her face.
"Miss, shall we go back first?"
Fei'er felt that the atmosphere here was a bit strange, especially the faint eerie feeling emanating from the woman, which made her inexplicably wary.
"If you're scared, go back yourself. I want to see who lives here."
As Gu Yingxue spoke, she quickened her pace and arrived in front of the woman in a few steps.
"You've arrived?"
A slightly seductive voice rang out, and Gu Yingxue looked closely and happened to see a hideous scar on half of the woman's face.
"ah!"
Gu Yingxue screamed in fright, taking two steps back, which startled the woman who was pretending to be asleep.
The woman looked up with her cool gaze, and when she saw Gu Yingxue's face, she was taken aback for a moment, but quickly regained her composure.
"Why has Miss come to my humble abode?"
The questioning tone calmed Gu Yingxue down a bit. When she turned around again, the woman had already covered half of her face with her hair, leaving only the other part of her face exposed.
Judging from this half of her face, the woman was clearly a pretty and pure-looking girl. Although she couldn't compare to the beauty of the Ji family, she was still quite good-looking.
"Who are you? What are you doing at the Marquis's residence?"
Gu Yingxue listened to the woman's address to her and her self-reference, and she really didn't know why this person would say such a thing.
“I am Zhang, and I am the only concubine in this Marquis’s mansion.”
Whether it was her imagination or not, Gu Yingxue could detect a hint of self-deprecation in the woman's words.
"I had no idea my father had a concubine. Tell me, who are you?"

Hearing Gu Yingxue's words, Zhang Shi did not feel uncomfortable.
After all these years, she had long been forgotten by the people of the Marquis's mansion. Who would remember that Gu Jin once had a concubine?
"I know that Miss does not believe me, but the fact that I am a concubine in this household cannot be concealed."
Aunt Zhang's calm demeanor startled Gu Yingxue. Looking at that half of her face, a sense of familiarity inexplicably welled up in her heart.
"Have I seen you somewhere before?"
Gu Yingxue looked at Aunt Zhang and unconsciously asked this question.
