Chapter 11 The Childhood Sweethearts Ran Away (End)

Silence. The conference room was completely silent.

Against the pristine white wall, an old clock ticked away, turning round and round rapidly yet steadily, second by second.

Everyone in the conference room craned their necks, whether it was a serious-looking man or a beautiful but indignant woman, their ears were perked up, and their restless hearts were hidden beneath their indifferent exteriors.

It's not just women who are naturally fond of gossip; men can be even more so. During their leisure time, they gather in small groups, drinking a little wine, eating snacks, playing drinking games, chattering and complaining, complaining about their wives' lack of domestic skills or envying how incredibly smart Old Wang's kid is, winning awards until his hands cramp. The wine doesn't intoxicate, but the atmosphere does. As the night deepens, a cool breeze blows, and the moon shines brightly, the effects of the alcohol take hold, and in a daze, someone casually lifts their foot onto a chair, waves their hand, and shouts, "Do you know what? Old Wang's kid next door belongs to someone else?"

Nature, sometimes, transcends gender.

Wang Tiansheng grinned and rolled his eyes. "You're better looking than most people. You're too arrogant. Besides being rich, what do you have that compares to Zixin? Zixin is gentle, kind, and considerate. Meeting Zixin is the greatest luck of my life."

Ji Xiaoxiao, instead of getting angry at being scorned and mocked, laughed. Within her cheerful laughter lay an unknown chill that made Wang Tiansheng shudder. "Whether Ai Zixin is truly gentle, kind, and considerate remains to be seen. However, considering your pitiful state of being deceived without knowing the truth, I'll tell you something frankly. Your beloved is two-timing you, getting together with your best brother. No, no, no, according to the order of arrival, you should be the third party."

The force of a thunderclap from a clear sky is of no concern to the arsonist Ji Xiaoxiao.

The aloof men, seemingly unconcerned about their own business, appeared to be listening intently, but their bright eyes gleamed with a meaningful light, suggesting they were quite enjoying themselves and had been imagining things.

Wang Tiansheng was well aware of the outsiders' opinions. Bearing the embarrassment and humiliation, he couldn't help but secretly resent Ai Zixin. Whether Ji Xiaoxiao's sudden revelation was true or not was still unknown, but Wang Tiansheng more or less knew about the ambiguous relationship between Ai Zixin and Lin Hengfeng. Wang Tiansheng had once asked Ai Zixin about it, but before he could finish speaking, her eyes welled up with tears, and her delicate face was filled with sorrow. Wang Tiansheng felt sorry for the beauty and always gave up halfway. Over time, Wang Tiansheng also forgot about the issue between Ai Zixin and Lin Hengfeng. If it weren't for Ji Xiaoxiao's kind reminder today, Wang Tiansheng didn't know when he would have remembered it.

Wang Tiansheng felt increasingly uneasy, but he absolutely could not admit to being cuckolded in front of outsiders. "Whether Zixin is good or bad, how could I not know? Ji Xiaoxiao, you can't spread rumors and slander Zixin just because I don't love you."

Wang Tiansheng's "I misjudged you" look made Ji Xiaoxiao feel nauseous. She smiled instead; the more she explained, the more obvious his attempt to cover up would be. Too lazy to argue, out of sight, out of mind, she waved and asked Wang Tiansheng to leave.

After Wang Tiansheng left, Ji's father handed over the position of executive chairman of Ji's Group to Ji Xiaoxiao in person. What the expressions of the others were did not concern Ji's father.

Ji Xiaoxiao was taken aback when she received her father's order. After thinking for a moment, she smiled helplessly and resignedly accepted this huge trouble from the Ji family. One of the original owner's wishes was to be filial to her parents, and Ji Xiaoxiao absolutely could not refuse.

With a job, Ji Xiaoxiao became much busier and didn't have much time to cause trouble for Lin Hengfeng, Wang Tiansheng, and Ai Zixin. She was unaware that the subtle reconciliation between Wang Tiansheng and Lin Hengfeng had been replaced by a storm.

Inside a villa, a high wall encloses it.

Inside the room, two men were punching and kicking each other, while a helpless woman lay prostrate on the sofa, sobbing softly.

Wang Tiansheng took a step back, his eyes darkening as he turned to Ai Zixin, feeling a pang of pity. But then, remembering what he had just witnessed, all pity vanished. "Lin Hengfeng, you really are always going against me."

Ever since Ji Xiaoxiao fired him, Wang Tiansheng had been automatically generating a series of plans to get revenge on her. But before he could even take the first step, he received a call from his father. He rushed home, but before he could even have a sip of water, he was met with a barrage of insults.

An hour later, Wang Tiansheng walked out of the magnificent mansion in a daze. He couldn't believe that he had been abandoned by his beloved father.

"You good-for-nothing fool, you've offended the Ji family, that's your own business. From now on, don't come back unless it's absolutely necessary." Upon hearing this, Wang Tiansheng couldn't help but suspect that he had been picked up from a garbage dump.

When he finally came to his senses, Wang Tiansheng realized that Ai Zixin was all he had left.

He rushed back to Ai Zixin's home, took out his key and opened the door. As expected yet unbelievable, Ai Zixin and Lin Hengfeng were lying on the sofa he had bought.

Is Ai Zixin the only one left?

Wang Tiansheng truly realized that he was all alone, a pitiful loner.

Three months ago, we met at a bar and had a one-night stand – it was all a joke.

For a whore, Wang Tiansheng betrayed Ji Xiaoxiao's years of affection, choosing instead to secretly target the Ji family through Lin Hengfeng, a man he hated and wished to devour. His schemes were meticulously planned and driven by cunning. Did he win? No, he lost everything.

"Her fault? His fault? My fault?" Wang Tiansheng didn't want to think about it, and instinctively swung his fists and feet at Lin Hengfeng.

Suddenly struck, Lin Hengfeng snapped out of his reverie, but Wang Tiansheng's grief-stricken expression startled him. Then, noticing the key in Wang Tiansheng's hand, Lin Hengfeng's gaze shifted to Ai Zixin beneath him. A sudden realization dawned on him, and he abruptly turned to look at Ai Zixin, her handsome face contorted in astonishment.
