Chapter 115 The Troublesome Little Demon Part 4

The Monster Forest is a notoriously dangerous place, where countless powerful individuals have perished. Aside from those who are fearless and those who deliberately seek death, only cultivators seeking immortality dare to occasionally appear on the outskirts of the Monster Forest.

The Monster Forest is vast and boundless; looking down from its heights, all one sees is an endless expanse of lush greenery. Cultivators constantly flock there to fight for fame and fortune, but the areas they can reach are but a drop in the ocean compared to the Monster Forest, utterly insignificant.

Opportunity often comes with danger, and danger frequently hides opportunity. The Monster Forest, this natural treasure trove, has many who want to possess it all, but none are truly capable of doing so.

Because the Monster Forest is vast and dangerous, teeming with magical beasts and fairies, and home to reclusive masters, it is generally open to all who enter and gather its resources.

Now that the coachman has told Ji Xiaoxiao that someone wants to inspect the carriage, the reasons and schemes involved have already been pondered by Ji Xiaoxiao.

"Who are you? Who sent you? What is your purpose in approaching us?" Ji Xiaoxiao asked the coachman a barrage of questions without stopping.

The coachman's face was flushed and purplish, and he said with a bitter expression, "Miss, you invited me here. What I did and what I was told to do were all done according to your instructions."

Listening to the driver's words, Ji Xiaoxiao felt for a moment that she was a domineering CEO who started a relationship and then abandoned it, and whose moods were unpredictable, and who was currently acting out a melodramatic love story.

After shaking off her daze, Ji Xiaoxiao knew that what the coachman said was true. However, the closer they got to the Monster Forest, the more uneasy Ji Xiaoxiao felt. Lately, she had been overly paranoid and suspicious of everything.

Ji Xiaoxiao smiled sheepishly and released her grip on the driver's neck. Words were weak and powerless; Ji Xiaoxiao paid compensation, and only then did the driver become overjoyed and beam with happiness.

As the saying goes, money makes the world go round, and Ji Xiaoxiao gave the coachman a large bag containing a large sum of money, as well as some little treasures from the cultivation world. After a while, the coachman got into the carriage, cracked his small whip, and spurred the horse into the Monster Forest.

As soon as the carriage entered the Monster Forest, Ji Xiaoxiao felt a strange emotion welling up inside her.

"Xiaobai, are we almost home?" Xiaoqing asked anxiously, feeling a mix of nervousness and trepidation as she approached her hometown.

"Yes, we're almost there." Ji Xiaoxiao nodded.

Upon hearing this, Xiaoqing cheered with joy. The scene was warm and the atmosphere was relaxed, and Ji Xiaoxiao breathed a sigh of relief.

However, they were too happy too soon.

"Demon, don't run away!" came a deafening roar.

"The pursuers are here?" Ji Xiaoxiao suddenly opened her tightly closed eyes.

The voice was deep and powerful, resonant yet firm, indicating that the speaker was a man. The ability to transmit sound over long distances without diminishing its force suggested an unfathomable level of cultivation.

Usually, such people are either sect elders or reclusive masters. Now that he's locked onto Ji Xiaoxiao's carriage, who would believe he's not a pursuer?

Once there's one, there's two; once there's two, there's three. One pursuer is coming, and the others should be arriving soon. A chilling thought crossed her mind. Ji Xiaoxiao roared, urging the coachman to move at top speed.

No matter how fast mortals travel, they cannot match the full-speed flight of a cultivator. In no time, a flash of white light appeared, and a white-haired old man suddenly appeared on the road. The old man stood bowing in front of the carriage, watching it rush towards him.

Seeing that there were people ahead, and knowing it was a matter of life and death, the driver hurriedly pulled on the reins. However, the horse was running very fast, and all the driver's efforts seemed insignificant.

"Old man, get out of the way! The carriage is going to hit you!" the coachman shouted in terror.

The old man neither dodged nor evaded, but reached out and flicked his sleeve, creating a gust of wind that overturned the carriage and its occupants. Very satisfied with the scene, the old man gave a soft hum and strolled forward.

After the world spun around her, Ji Xiaoxiao swayed as she climbed out of the carriage. The first thing she saw when she looked up was the old man. The old man's eyes were fierce, and she could tell from his appearance that he was no kind person.

"Senior, why did you hurt us? If we offended you, we apologize and beg for your forgiveness." Ji Xiaoxiao was neither humble nor arrogant, yet full of flattery.

The old man squinted at Ji Xiaoxiao, his gaze sweeping over her as if she were a dead object, devoid of warmth, filled with cruelty and bloodlust.

"A rabbit demon?" the old man murmured to himself.

“Senior, I…” Before Ji Xiaoxiao could finish speaking, the old man shouted, “Shut up! You’re just a little rabbit demon. The word ‘senior’ coming from the mouth of a monster like you is pure insult. I am a human, not your senior.”

By this time, Ji Xiaoxiao and her group had entered the Monster Forest. Towering trees were everywhere, their dense canopies blocking out the sun. The scorching sunlight blazed down, leaving only dappled shadows on the ground.

The Monster Forest was always sparsely populated. The air was fresh and invigorating. But Ji Xiaoxiao was in turmoil, her whole body trembling like a leaf. Every breath she inhaled and exhaled felt like a sharp blade cutting through iron, constantly scraping her throat.

"Xiaobai, what's wrong?" Xiaoqing also climbed out of the car, looking at both sides with confusion.

Ji Xiaoxiao looked at the bewildered Xiaoqing and immediately felt a headache coming on. She had the protection of Heaven and was not afraid of the elders' troubles, but Xiaoqing did not have such heaven-defying luck.

"Xiaoqing, I'll hold him back for a bit, then you can escape. Remember, don't stop, run as fast as you can." Ji Xiaoxiao whispered in Xiaoqing's ear as she pulled her along.

Ji Xiao spoke of life and death, parting with utmost solemnity. Xiao Qing listened attentively, immediately becoming tense, gripping Ji Xiao's hand with increasing force.
