The establishment of military eunuchs was a distinctive feature of the Lü dynasty. Initially, their purpose was to provide close protection for the emperor. However, over time, these eunuchs became powerful assistants to the concubines in the harem, specializing in performing clandestine tasks requiring physical strength.
Eunuch Su was an undercover agent placed by Lu Zhixuan beside the original owner of the body, and it was self-evident which palace the powerful eunuch behind him belonged to.
"Even a mere servant dares to treat me this way; it seems things are going to turn badly at tomorrow's morning court session."
Ji Xiaoxiao put down the pastries, her slightly dim and cloudy eyes flashing with a mixture of majesty and murderous intent.
"Empress?" Ji Xiaoxiao paused and said, "My empress is Xue Jinghan. When did it become Lu Zhixuan's turn to be empress?"
Ji Xiaoxiao picked up a teacup and smashed it on Eunuch Su's head. "Who do you think you are? You dare to call yourself 'I' in front of me? You're just a eunuch. You really aren't afraid of death. How dare a slave like you touch my imperial body?"
"Guards! This servant is incredibly audacious and disrespectful to the Emperor. Drag him away and beat him to death with clubs."
Under the vast heaven, all land belongs to the king. On the shores of the earth, all people are subjects of the king.
A guard, who looked like a wooden stake, was ordered to arrest Eunuch Su. Just then, a pleasant voice came from outside the palace gate.
"Stop! Without my orders, no one dares to touch my people!"
The newcomer entered, dressed in white, her hair held up by a single white jade hairpin, her face as pure and beautiful as a lotus emerging from clear water, exuding an elegant and ethereal aura, like a celestial being.
"What an absolute beauty." This is the first impression most people have of Lu Zhixuan.
Through the original owner's memories, Ji Xiaoxiao learned that Lu Zhixuan was two-faced, and that his appearance matched his ugliness.
How beautiful and charming can someone who enjoys torturing others be?
"Lu Ying, what's gotten into you again? You dare to kill my people? Have you lost your mind?" Lu Zhixuan gave a signal, and the men who came with him helped up Eunuch Su.
Ji Xiaoxiao stepped down from the dragon throne and walked up to Lu Zhixuan, her round eyes staring intently at him. Lu Zhixuan felt a chill run down his spine and his hands and feet sweat under Ji Xiaoxiao's sharp gaze. His sixth sense kept urging him to escape quickly, as if something big was about to happen, and a slight mistake could mean certain death.
"What...what are you going to do?" Lu Zhixuan swallowed hard, his words sounding weak despite his outward bravado.
"I'm not doing anything," Ji Xiaoxiao said softly. "I'm just teaching you some manners on behalf of your father and mother, so you won't be disrespectful and bring shame to your Lu family."
With a forceful slap, a bright red handprint appeared on Lu Zhixuan's fair and delicate face. The vivid red handprint seemed to proclaim to the world the immense humiliation it had brought upon Lu Zhixuan.
Lu Zhixuan was stunned for a long time, then stupidly reached out to touch it. It was red, swollen, and burning with pain, which brought him back to his senses.
"Ah... Lü Ying, I'm going to kill you!" Lu Zhixuan roared.
Lu Zhixuan's shouts echoed for a long time; inside the palace, even the sound of an embroidery needle falling to the ground could be heard.
In feudal times, the emperor was supreme, like the Son of Heaven. Disrespect was punishable by the execution of the entire family. Daring to utter arrogant words and wish for the emperor's death was a matter of exterminating nine generations of one's clan.
"Idiot."
Before entering the palace, Lu Zhixuan was pampered by his parents and was an innocent, naive, and gullible child. After entering the palace, the original owner's constant protection and concessions only fueled his arrogance, making him completely disregard the emperor who held the power to save the lives of thousands.
"Men, seize the assassin!"
When Ji Xiaoxiao met Lu Zhixuan, she had a plan. Now that Lu Zhixuan was extremely cooperative and obediently fell into the trap, it would be a fool for Ji Xiaoxiao not to press her advantage and capture him in one fell swoop.
The guards and eunuchs hesitated for a moment, then one of them, who seemed to be the leader, stepped forward and asked, "Your Majesty, who are we here to arrest?"
"Lu Zhixuan." Ji Xiaoxiao spoke clearly, and the sharp-eared guards heard her perfectly.
Ji Xiaoxiao stood in the center of the hall, waiting and waiting, but the guards still stood there dumbfounded, motionless, showing no sign of the decisive and efficient manner of these imperial guards.
"What, does my word no longer carry weight? Or has the Lü family's empire fallen into someone else's hands?" Ji Xiaoxiao's words were truly piercing and insidious.
"Your Majesty, please forgive me, I deserve to die."
A group of people knelt down straight, their heads hitting the obsidian, not daring to look up at Ji Xiaoxiao.
"Since you know you deserve to die, why don't you capture the assassin Lu Zhixuan for me?" When there is no one to rely on, Ji Xiaoxiao must be tough and create her own world.
Perhaps it was the imposing presence of the frightened princess that made the guards stop keeping quiet and decisively capture Lu Zhixuan.
“Lü Ying, I hate you, I hate you…”
Lu Zhixuan, with his nostrils flared and head slightly raised, was either incredibly audacious or magnanimous. At this moment, he was oblivious to reality and continued his arrogant shouting.
No matter how arrogant he was, Lu Zhixuan was still imprisoned by the Imperial Guards.
The best time to plan for the year is in spring, and the best time to plan for the day is in the morning.
The next morning, as dawn broke, the flowers, plants, and trees outside the study were glistening with dew. A cool breeze gently caressed my face, leaving a faint fragrance.
Ji Xiaoxiao yawned and let someone drape the dragon robe over her. After washing up, she was led by eunuchs and maids and arrived at the Golden Palace in a daze. She plopped down on the dragon throne, and before she could even pull the covers over her head and fall asleep, a deafening roar of noise erupted from below.
"Long live the Emperor! Long live the Emperor! Long live the Emperor!"
The music lingered, with its rises and falls, and the people knelt and kowtowed in perfect unison.
Ji Xiaoxiao suddenly woke up. Her little bit of sleep vanished amidst the grand worship of ten thousand people, leaving only boundless pride and awe in her heart.
