After receiving the original owner's memories, Ji Xiaoxiao knew that the original owner was a proud and arrogant woman who was also exceptionally kind-hearted, just like her simple wishes.
She wanted to prove her innocence, she wanted Lu Zhu and Nan Zhu to get what they deserved, she didn't want to be bought and sold like merchandise, she wanted to be in charge of her own life.
"Sigh." A sigh lingered in the cramped room.
From the moment the moon sets, the warm sunshine shines upon the earth.
Ji Xiaoxiao rolled over in her blanket, her sweet sleeping face showing a hint of weariness. Sunlight fell on her face, making the fine downy hairs clearly visible, revealing her youthful vitality, but the crow's feet at the corners of her eyes added a touch of cruelty and ruthlessness to the passage of time.
"Bang bang..." The sound of someone pounding on the door was jarring and annoying.
Ji Xiaoxiao scratched her hair haphazardly, let out a shout, and reluctantly got up.
After tidying herself up a bit, Ji Xiaoxiao opened the door. Before her stood a woman of about twenty-two or twenty-three, about 1.6 meters tall, with a beautiful face, small mouth, delicate nose, and large eyes; every feature was stunning. She wore a pink nightgown, her waist-length hair casually draped behind her, and her exposed skin was as white and delicate as snow, making her look like a walking human doll.
Judging a person solely by their appearance, the person before you seems harmless and kind. You can know a person's face but not their heart. Ji Xiaoxiao possesses the original owner's memories, and this beautiful woman is none other than Lü Zhu, who is relentlessly unforgiving regardless of whether she's in the right or wrong.
"Why are you here?" Ji Xiaoxiao asked sleepily, yawning, her answer somewhat perfunctory.
The sun had just risen, it wasn't even seven o'clock yet, and disturbing someone's peaceful sleep so early in the morning was risky. To avoid alerting the enemy, Ji Xiaoxiao suppressed her anger and refrained from cursing Lü Zhu for being tactless.
"Big sister, my bamboo is bullying me again." Lu Zhu reached out and hugged Ji Xiaoxiao, crying and wailing like a ghost, instantly dispelling Ji Xiaoxiao's sleepiness.
"Okay, okay, don't cry." Ji Xiaoxiao said patiently and kindly.
The two were hugging and cuddling at the door, which looked rather strange. Ji Xiaoxiao invited Lü Zhu to come in and sit down.
Lu Zhu plopped down on the sofa and started firing off a barrage of words like a machine gun.
After hearing about that little thing, Ji Xiaoxiao chuckled to herself.
Nan Zhu came home late last night after drinking with colleagues, instead of coming home to watch a movie with her. Lü Zhu complained to him that he didn't love her anymore. Nan Zhu, a grown man, couldn't possibly accommodate Lü Zhu all the time, and unsurprisingly, the two had a big fight.
When Lü Zhu woke up the next day, Nan Zhu hadn't prepared breakfast for her, which made her even more heartbroken. In the past, no matter how busy Nan Zhu was, he would always prepare breakfast and coax her to get up.
Human greed knows no bounds. Even if Ji Xiaoxiao had never truly loved anyone, she knew that Nan Zhu was deeply in love with Lü Zhu and couldn't extricate himself. Lü Zhu was girlish and always wanted others to give in and accommodate her. In Lü Zhu's eyes, Nan Zhu's actions were worlds apart from the considerate and attentive prince charming she had fantasized about in her youth.
"Big sister, my Zhu Zi is so bad, I want to divorce him." When Lu Zhu's temper flares up, she doesn't care about anything else, even if it means hurting herself a lot, she wants to hurt the enemy a lot.
Ji Xiaoxiao, acting as a caring older sister, kindly advised, "Zhuzhu, it's normal for couples to quarrel and have disagreements. Zhuzi has to balance family and career, which puts a lot of pressure on him. Zhuzhu, you are Zhuzi's wife, so you should try to understand and accommodate him."
"Why should I? I'm his wife! Why should I, a woman, have to accommodate this grown man?" Lü Zhu seemed to have been hit where it hurt, and said indignantly, "We're husband and wife. What's wrong with asking him to come home from get off work and watch a movie with me? I'm doing this for our own good. Love, if not nurtured, will wither like a flower without nourishment. I've worked so hard for him and for our family, and all he does is go drinking with his colleagues, leaving me out. He doesn't apologize when he comes home at night, and he doesn't even prepare breakfast for me in the morning. He's the one who wronged me first, and you still expect me to accommodate him? I...I...Waaah..."
Knowing that saying too much would only lead to more mistakes, Ji Xiaoxiao stopped talking, gently hugged Lü Zhu, and silently comforted her.
An hour later, Ji Xiaoxiao had to go to work, so she saw Lü Zhu off.
Lu Zhu cried for a while, her eyes red and swollen, looking incredibly pitiful and beautiful. Ji Xiaoxiao, however, showed no pity for this delicate flower; her ordinary face was upturned in a high arc.
Ji Xiaoxiao's demand that Lü Zhu accommodate Nan Zhu was intentional. Lü Zhu has the nature of a girl, always expecting others to yield and accommodate her. Asking her to accommodate someone who used to put her first is like asking a princess to understand the hardships of a servant—it's completely impossible.
If Lü Zhu were a princess, she could have lived a life of ease and contentment. However, husband and wife are equal, and a husband should not have to endure his wife's childish behavior for the rest of his life simply because he is a man.
Having spent years in the workplace, the original owner had developed a keen eye for detail, and she could spot Lü Zhu's quirky personality instantly. Therefore, whenever Lü Zhu and Nan Zhu argued, the original owner would only comfort Lü Zhu, never lecturing her on the principles of marriage. As for making concessions and compromises, it took the original owner a lot of persuasion and coaxing before Nan Zhu would reluctantly apologize to Lü Zhu.
Ji Xiaoxiao did the opposite, seemingly comforting and encouraging Lü Zhu, asking her to accommodate and understand Nan Zhu, but in reality, she deliberately stirred up Lü Zhu's resentment towards Nan Zhu, exacerbating the rift between the couple.
"Better to tear down ten temples than to break up one marriage." Ugh, Ji Xiaoxiao utterly despises that.
Good and evil are rewarded accordingly; good causes yield good results, and evil causes yield evil results.
Lu Zhu and Nan Zhu caused the original owner to lose everything; they should pay the price.
After getting dressed and going downstairs, Ji Xiaoxiao had breakfast and leisurely went to work.
Upon arriving at the company, Ji Xiaoxiao's assistant told her that the chairman was furious and demanded that she go to his office to explain why she was late.
