Chapter 204 A Couple Showing Off Their Affection

Ji Xiaoxiao reached inside and saw a woman with delicate features, neatly dressed, hanging from a roof beam by a rope. She was numb and indifferent, her expression seemingly detached from life and death.

If it doesn't concern me, I'll stay out of it. What business is it of my life or death to others?

Since the woman is unharmed, then...

Ji Xiaoxiao lowered her gaze slightly; the scene was too obscene, it would blind her if she looked at it.

Thinking that in this isolated and backward mountain village, if this matter were discovered, it would prove that the pig-drowning cage was not necessarily a woman's exclusive use.

"Dragon Prince!" Qiu Zhuang shouted, rousing those lost in their pleasure.

Qiu Longzi was the only son of Qiu Zhuang and Qiu Feng'er's only younger brother. He enjoyed his parents' endless love and care throughout his life. He never had to struggle or work hard, and he had no worries about food, clothing, shelter, or transportation.

"Dad, why are you back so soon? I thought you would pester Qiu Feng'er to take you out to play for a few days." Qiu Longzi looked up calmly, "Dad, just wait a little longer, it will be over soon."

Qiu Zhuang opened his mouth, then turned around and instructed Liu Dahua to prepare hot water and food. Liu Dahua asked her son, Qiu Longzi, in a humble voice what he wanted to eat. Qiu Longzi waved his hand impatiently and said that anything good to eat would be fine, and Liu Dahua could decide on the rest.

Upon receiving the order, Liu Dahua happily walked towards the thatched hut next to the small Western-style building.

Is this really the mother? Is this really the son? Was the original owner of this body really the daughter of this family?

Seeing is believing. Ji Xiaoxiao understood why the original owner would resent her family.

Ji Xiaoxiao lifted her leg to walk into the small villa, but Qiu Zhuang stopped her, "What are you doing? Can't you see your brother is busy? Don't disturb him while he's doing his important work."

Busy? Serious business?

Ji Xiaoxiao glanced at him and saw that he was really busy, and he was covered in sweat from exhaustion.

"He's busy with his own things, what business is it of his if I go in?" Ji Xiaoxiao said dismissively.

"Could it be that he'll go limp and be unable to move as soon as I go in?" Ji Xiaoxiao pointed at Qiu Longzi, tilting her head and humbly asking Qiu Zhuang for advice.

After saying that, Ji Xiaoxiao laughed lewdly, and Qiu Zhuang's face turned red with embarrassment. He coughed awkwardly a few times and turned away to avoid Ji Xiaoxiao's sharp and piercing gaze.

"Shut up, go help your mother, don't stand here in my way." Qiu Zhuang felt his authority was threatened as he teased his elderly father, and shouted.

Ji Xiaoxiao didn't have masochistic tendencies, didn't want to hurt her eyes, and didn't want to prepare food for the humanoid beasts in the thatched hut. This was a deep mountain forest, with plenty of places to play, so Ji Xiaoxiao entertained herself by choosing a mountain that was said to hold treasure.

Exploring was quite a waste of time. By the time Ji Xiaoxiao returned to the village, the sun had already set, and the stars and moon hung high in the sky. There were no streetlights in the small village, and they could only rely on the light filtering through from each household to discern the way.

Back in front of the villa, Ji Xiaoxiao reached out to push the door open but couldn't. She tried a little harder, but the door didn't budge. It seemed the door was bolted.

Ji Xiaoxiao chuckled softly, then kicked the door shut.

Liu Dahua rushed over upon hearing the noise. The perfectly good door was now ruined—that was a lot of hard-earned money! Liu Dahua was heartbroken and pointed at Ji Xiaoxiao's nose, cursing, "You good-for-nothing, you were born to make me suffer..."

Ji Xiaoxiao touched her nose, looked straight past Liu Dahua, and went straight to the kitchen on the first floor of the small villa. She found a bowl and chopsticks and filled a bowl with rice.

When Liu Dahua caught up and saw this scene, her extinguished anger immediately reignited, even stronger than before. She opened her claws to grab Ji Xiaoxiao's hair, but Ji Xiaoxiao took a step forward. Liu Dahua's upper body leaned too far forward, her front foot landed unsteadily, and she swayed, almost falling to the ground.

Patting her pounding heart, Liu Dahua completely resented Ji Xiaoxiao, uttering words that were not what a mother should say to her daughter.

Ji Xiaoxiao did not treat Liu Dahua as her mother. She was neither sad nor angry. She ate and drank as usual.

Liu Dahua's arguing skills have been gradually improved over time. It's no big deal for her to argue for ten days or half a month without repeating a single word.

"Mom, you're being noisy, shut up." Qiu Longzi frowned and slammed the bowl and chopsticks down on the table.

Liu Dahua quickly stopped talking, apologized awkwardly to Qiu Longzi, glared at Ji Xiaoxiao, and obediently held her bowl, squatting down to eat at Qiu Zhuang's feet.

Beneath Qiu Longzi's feet lay a woman, the same woman Ji Xiaoxiao had seen hanging from the rafters during the day. She held neither chopsticks nor a bowl, her head bowed as she ate from a dog bowl, her delicate face smeared with food juice and rice grains.

"And you, Qiu Feng'er, after all these years of schooling, have you given up all your manners? You talk back to your mother, so you think you're so great?" Qiu Zhuang kicked Liu Dahua, who said arrogantly, "Qiu Feng'er, don't forget the rules of the house. Squat down and eat right now. You're disrespecting your father and brother."

Liu Dahua and that woman can eat at the feet of men and live without the slightest dignity, something Ji Xiaoxiao can never learn.

Ji Xiaoxiao puffed out her chest, plopped down next to Qiu Longzi, and started eating with gusto, glancing at him every now and then while haughtily humming, defiantly provoking Qiu Longzi.

Qiu Longzi was born with a lot of love and affection. He had never seen a woman in his village dare to eat at the table since he was a child. Even respected old women could only sit on a small stool with a humble attitude.

Is Ji Xiaoxiao looking down on Qiu Longzi by sitting next to him now?

Qiu Longzi felt offended by the vile woman, and slammed the bowl and chopsticks on the table. "Qiu Feng'er, get off the table! Is this a place for you to sit?"

“Dad, look at her. She’s only been away for a few years, but she’s forgotten all the rules of the village. This kind of person who forgets her ancestors and betrays morality should be drowned in a pig cage.”
