Chapter 211 I Want to Be in a Relationship (Part 5)

Mo Wenqiu snorted, his meaning clear without being spoken.

Ji Xiaoxiao laughed and said, "You want to strangle me, but I want to strangle you too."

A father who betrays his family and sides with his own is worse off than someone who's been strangled. At worst, you can offer him some paper money during holidays to prevent him from haunting you in your dreams saying you're not doing well in the afterlife.

"You unfilial daughter!" Mo Wenqiu was furious, her face turning red with rage.

The daughter said she wanted to strangle her elderly father—what an outrageous thing to say!

Mo Wenqiu's body trembled, and he gasped for breath, as if he was running out of oxygen and might stop breathing at any moment.

"I am a rebellious daughter, and you forced me into this state!" Ji Xiaoxiao roared.

Everyone has a rebellious streak. However, the original owner was raised and educated by Mo Wenqiu and his wife, and obeyed her parents from childhood to adulthood. Even when it came to the important matter of marriage, no matter how much she longed for love, she still married Hao Zhenran, who had no emotional foundation with her.

Having lived a long time, enduring hunger and cold, and the indifference of the world, the original owner of this body came to a profound realization about love—something that cannot be eaten or drunk, something ethereal and intangible—and thus abandoned it.

Ironically, her family abandoned her because of love.

Is this the cycle of cause and effect, where retribution is inevitable?

"I am your daughter, your own daughter. Hao Zhenran cheated on me, he wronged me, he betrayed me, but did you stand up for me and seek justice? Ha, you didn't stand up for me, but for a good son-in-law, you criticized and insulted your own daughter." Ji Xiaoxiao's composure vanished, and she cursed wildly, looking no different from a madwoman.

"Love? What the hell is that?" Ji Xiaoxiao said dismissively.

Ji Xiaoxiao seemed to have touched a nerve with Mo Wenqiu, who instantly flew into a rage and relentlessly demanded that Ji Xiaoxiao pay a bloody price.

When husband and wife are of one mind, their strength can break metal. Seeing her husband Mo Wenqiu making a big fuss, the old woman Wu Huihua immediately lent a hand, swinging her cane to attack Ji Xiaoxiao.

Ji Xiaoxiao used Hao Meini, who was standing by watching the show, as a human shield, so that all the punches and kicks from Mo Wenqiu and Wu Huihua landed on Hao Meini.

Hao Kaiyou was quick-witted. His grandparents were possessed; if he didn't rouse them with a splash of water, Hao Meini would be crippled, if not killed. He shouted, "Grandpa and Grandma, Meini is going to be beaten to death!"

The fireflies in the darkness were so vivid. Hao Kaiyou's kind reminder brought Mo Wenqiu and Wu Huihua back to their senses, and they both stopped fighting. But it was too late; Hao Meini was already covered in bruises.

"You actually used your own daughter as a shield? Are you still Mei Ni's mother?" Mo Wenqiu looked at her granddaughter's bruised and battered appearance and felt extremely distressed.

Mother? Hao Meini would have to treat her like a mother first, right?

Ji Xiaoxiao is not a saintly figure radiant with light. When someone slaps her left cheek, she eagerly offers her right cheek, hoping to be slapped to her heart's content.

"Spare the rod and spoil the child, isn't that what you taught me?" Using one's own spear against one's own shield, "What's a few slaps to her? I'll starve her for two or three days later."

"You're not human." Wu Huihua gently picked up Hao Meini and burst into tears, cursing the heavens, cursing the earth, and cursing Ji Xiaoxiao, this hypocritical beast in human clothing.

Ji Xiaoxiao jumped to safety and immediately added fuel to the fire, "I'm not human, I was born of you two beasts. Birds of a feather flock together. Old beast, big beast, little beast, what a perfect family!" Ji Xiaoxiao pointed at them one by one.

The words fell silent.

Beasts, a whole family of beasts. Is this what a daughter, a mother, a wife would say to her parents, her children, and her husband?

Fearing that the incident would cause a stir, Hao Kaiyou grabbed a stool and threw it at Ji Xiaoxiao.

Ji Xiaoxiao quickly dodged, and the stool exploded, hitting the refrigerator behind her.

"You're hopeless! How can you talk about your own family like that?" Hao Kaiyou was heartbroken. His beloved mother was nothing but a pipe dream.

Ji Xiaoxiao looked at the smoking refrigerator, feeling a mixture of sorrow and resentment. All she knew was that Hao Kaiyou had acted ruthlessly and without any regard for her as his mother.

Since you are heartless, don't blame me for being ruthless too.

"I'm hopeless? You're the ones who's crazy, you're all stupid. Regardless of whether the woman behind Hao Zhenran is his true love, don't forget, I'm Hao Zhenran's wife. If he goes to see other women, it's cheating, it's betraying me. I've put so much effort into this family, and you're enjoying it, are you just going to turn a blind eye?" Ji Xiaoxiao glanced at everyone present, but they remained unmoved, still firmly believing in her principles.

Ji Xiaoxiao didn't understand, not at all. How convoluted were their thought processes to think that Hao Zhenran finding true love was a cause for celebration? True love, even if it was true love at that time, couldn't change the fact that Hao Zhenran had cheated on his wife.

Black is black, white is white, right and wrong are open to interpretation.

What Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't understand was perfectly normal in the eyes of the Hao family.

Hao Kaiyou scoffed, "You're part of this family, so it's only natural for you to contribute. Now you tell us you've worked hard and made contributions, but have you seen what we've done? The reason we can afford to live in such a big house is because Dad has worked hard day and night. Dad is hardworking and doesn't complain, but unlike you, he doesn't make a fuss. He just quietly contributes and works hard for this family."

"It's only natural and right?" Ji Xiaoxiao pondered the idiom carefully.

Hao Kaiyou believed that Ji Xiaoxiao's deep thought was a sign of her guilt after her secret was exposed, so he intensified his attack, pressed his advantage, and went straight for the heart of the enemy.

"You're greedy and vain. You keep talking about how much you've given, but all you want is for us to remember your small contributions so we'll follow you and respect you," Hao Kaiyou said smugly, thinking he had dissected Ji Xiaoxiao's deepest psychology and darkness.
