Ji Xiaoxiao wore a black hood over her head, and her eyesight was useless; all she could see was darkness. The only thing she knew was that the longer the car drove, the fewer voices there were around her.
After an unknown amount of time, the car suddenly stopped.
Ji Xiaoxiao was pushed and shoved into a room.
The cover was suddenly lifted, and the dazzling light was blinding. Ji Xiaoxiao subconsciously closed her eyes, and after a while, she slowly opened them.
"Hello, Grandpa!" Ji Xiaoxiao called out sweetly.
Sitting directly in front of Ji Xiaoxiao was an elderly man in a Tang suit with white hair. The old man was already in his twilight years, but his imposing presence was awe-inspiring, as if he were an emperor in a high position. Upon closer inspection, Shui Fei still bore a resemblance to the old man's handsome and dashing appearance in his youth.
The old man who looks like Shui Fei must be Shui Fei's relative!
Shui Fei's family is my family! Shui Fei's grandfather is my grandfather!
Ji Xiaoxiao's calling out "Grandpa" was beyond reproach.
"Who's your grandfather?" Ji Xiaoxiao interrupted Shui Ran's plan, causing Shui Ran to forget her original intention and become completely focused on the shamelessness of this thick-skinned, ignorant woman, Ji Xiaoxiao.
Ji Xiaoxiao blushed, turned around shyly, and said coyly, "Of course it's you. You are Fei Fei's grandfather, so naturally you are my grandfather too."
If it were a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl being coy and shy, it wouldn't be pleasing to the eye, but at least it wouldn't be nauseating. But Ji Xiaoxiao, a woman nearing fifty, was being coquettish and joking; the only word to describe the feelings of those present was "hehe."
“You…” Shui Ran was speechless and choked with emotion.
A tree without bark will surely die; a person without shame is invincible. The ancients were right.
"Oh, Grandpa, don't look at me like that, it makes me shy," Ji Xiaoxiao said shyly, used to putting on airs.
The old man didn't have many hobbies, and only one or two things he liked. Shui Ran held the dragon-headed cane in her hand, which she always handled with utmost care and tenderness, but now she wished she could smash it on Ji Xiaoxiao's head to vent her anger.
What kind of people are these? Are they brainless?
"I do not agree to you being with Shui Fei. Please leave Shui Fei." Shui Ran took a deep breath to calm herself down, recalling the words she had prepared beforehand.
"You want me to leave Shuifei? And then I'll be single again?" Ji Xiaoxiao exclaimed, dumbfounded, after a sudden realization. "Does that mean you like me and want to be with me?"
It seemed to be true. Ji Xiaoxiao looked frightened, took a step back, clutched her chest, and said tremblingly, "No, you're too old. If I, a delicate flower, were to be with you, wouldn't it be like sticking a piece of useless cow dung? I still have plenty of youth and time ahead of me. I will never agree to be with a shameless old man like you."
After these words, which were so profound they seemed to shake the heavens and the earth, the room fell into a deathly silence.
Is the old man really interested in some woman?
The loyal servants who served the Shui family had incredibly wild imaginations.
Wow, it's huge!
Ji Xiaoxiao looked at Shui Ran, touched her face, and said with a troubled expression, "Grandpa, why did you have to choose me? I know I'm incredibly beautiful, but it's very, very immoral for an elder to compete with his grandson for a woman."
"Grandpa, I love Shui Fei, I can't let him down."
Ji Xiaoxiao bowed to Shui Ran, then turned and walked away.
What's going on? What exactly is going on?
He hadn't said a word, so how did he leave?
If you're going to leave, at least let go of his clutches that are tightly gripping his beloved grandson!
"Stop!" Shui Ran shouted, and Ji Xiaoxiao immediately stopped in her tracks.
Ji Xiaoxiao turned around, her face showing great understanding. She asked with concern, "Grandpa, is there anything else?" After a pause, Ji Xiaoxiao tugged at her clothes and said stubbornly, "I'm a girl with principles. No matter how much money you offer, I won't do that kind of thing."
That kind of thing? What kind of thing? It couldn't be that kind of thing, could it?
Shui Ran felt disdain. A young girl, indeed? Calling you an old lady is already being very kind to you.
Only she knows what's really on her mind. Shui Ran has lived for seventy or eighty years and has seen more of life than most people have. She can suppress her anger and maintain a kind demeanor with ease.
"Child, please have pity on this old man. I only have Shui Fei as my grandson. If something happens to him, what will I have left to live for? I might as well die now." Shui Ran was quite good at taking advantage of his age.
Ji Xiaoxiao was clearly not buying it. She lowered her head slightly and said in a low voice, but loud enough for everyone to hear, "I'm not a man-eating demon. What's wrong with Fei Fei being with me?"
A man-eating demon—how could she describe it so vividly?
In Shui Ran's mind, Ji Xiaoxiao was no different from a demon who would devour people without spitting out the bones.
"If you think that way, I'll let you off the hook!" As people get older, their hearts soften.
After a long while, Ji Xiaoxiao suddenly raised her head and asked, "Grandpa, is that what you mean?"
Ji Xiaoxiao was startled. She had been dejected and listless a moment ago, but now she was beaming with joy and smug. She was completely different from the person she was looking at before.
"Grandpa, are you implying that I should have more children?" Ji Xiaoxiao patted her chest and said with great pride, "Grandpa, don't worry, I'll take care of it."
After hearing this, Shui Ran spat out a mouthful of water, coughed incessantly, and her face turned red from choking.
I only have one grandson, Shui Fei, so you need to have more children. This is Ji Xiaoxiao's thought.
I only have one grandson, Shui Fei, so please leave and don't harm my grandson. This was Shui Ran's original intention.
Seeing that something was wrong, the servant immediately patted Shui Ran's back gently to help him catch his breath. After about ten minutes, Shui Ran recovered.
