Chapter 22 The Saintess's Ruthlessness (Part 4)

Ji Xiaoxiao spent the entire night digesting and understanding the original owner's martial arts moves.

Time always flies when you have something to do.

Her beautiful eyes slowly opened, and the warm light made Ji Xiaoxiao feel slightly uncomfortable. She frowned and called for a maid to bring water to wash up.

After washing up and having breakfast, Ji Xiaoxiao instructed her maid to bring Gu Lianxin over, saying she had something to ask. A little while later, Gu Lianxin arrived at Ji Xiaoxiao's tent, led by her maid.

Ji Xiaoxiao invited Gu Lianxin to sit down and personally poured tea to apologize, "Lianxin, I'm sorry."

The original owner of this body coldly and harshly criticized Gu Lianxin, ordering the frail woman to do manual labor. The disciples in the sect dared not speak out against her, out of respect for her prestige and status. Ji Xiaoxiao, with a cold face, sincerely apologized to Gu Lianxin, determined to reverse the original owner's fate of being abandoned by everyone. Why should a member of a demonic sect receive a reputation for great compassion, while the original owner, a saintess who worried about the world, was branded as ruthless?

"The Black Forest is a bandit's den. Neither Lotus nor I are sure if you're a spy, so Lotus suggested I deliberately make things difficult for you. If you're a bandit, you'll surely have ways to protect yourself. If we keep making things difficult for you, one day you'll grow to hate and retaliate tenfold or a hundredfold. If you're an ordinary person, unable to lift a finger or carry anything heavy, you can only remain silent and accept your fate to survive. You've had a hard time these past few days, and I'm truly sorry, but for the safety of our disciples, we have no choice but to put you through this. One must take responsibility for one's actions. If you have any grudges or resentments, come at me!" This explanation seemed reasonable, but it was full of loopholes. Ji Xiaoxiao wasn't as clever as Zhuge Liang. In the blink of an eye, enemy ships were reduced to ashes. Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't even dream of such a feat. However, Xiaoxiao was shrewd and knew what she was doing. How could she bear all the blame for good or bad things alone?

"Oh, I'm sorry, White Lotus," Ji Xiaoxiao said silently, clasping her hands together in her heart.

Hearing Ji Xiaoxiao spouting nonsense, Gu Lianxin immediately felt as if Ji Xiaoxiao was spewing filth at her. Her harsh criticism and harassment stemmed from mere suspicion that she might be a bandit. If she were a wicked bandit, all would be well; if she were an innocent civilian, for the safety of the majority, she would grit her teeth and swallow this bitterness. Regardless of right or wrong, it was Gu Lianxin who would suffer, and she would do so willingly and without complaint.

"Hehe, she's the one who suffers, but you two benefit. White Lotus, White Lotus Flower, I'll remember you. I swear I won't rest until I avenge this." Gu Lianxin secretly vowed.

"How could I possibly resent you, Holy Son and Holy Daughter? You saved Lianxin, and I am more than grateful. Lianxin's father warned her that when traveling, one should not have the heart to harm others, but one should not be without the heart of a mortal. I understand what you did, Holy Son and Holy Daughter. I am a content person and would never dare to resent you, Holy Son and Holy Daughter." Gu Lianxin knelt on the ground with a thud, expressing her feelings to Ji Xiaoxiao with trepidation.

Ji Xiaoxiao quickly helped Gu Lianxin up, her stern face revealing no emotion. "Please come quickly, otherwise it will seem like it's my fault."

"Ah." Taking advantage of the perfect opportunity to help Gu Lianxin up, Ji Xiaoxiao twisted Gu Lianxin's waist. Ji Xiaoxiao didn't need to guess or think; it was definitely red and swollen, otherwise Gu Lianxin wouldn't have made such an embarrassing sound.

"Lianxin, what's wrong?" Ji Xiaoxiao's face was still expressionless.

At this moment, Gu Lianxin's pride and joy in her patience crumbled instantly. The dignified Holy Maiden of the Heavenly Lotus Holy Sect, behind her back, was actually this kind of person. Fighting her? Fine, you've got guts.

"I'm fine." Gu Lianxin left Ji Xiaoxiao's side without leaving a trace.

"It's good that she's not dead." Yi Ma Pingchuan muttered, and Ji Xiaoxiao reached out and patted Gu Lianxin's head, like an elder helplessly smiling at a junior, "A Lian, take Lianxin back to rest, I think Lianxin is tired too."

The maid, whom Ji Xiaoxiao called A-Lian, quickly led Gu Lianxin back to where they came from.

A-Lian helped Gu Lianxin walk away from Ji Xiaoxiao's sight. At this moment, Gu Lianxin wished she could devour Ji Xiaoxiao's flesh and drink her blood; to kill her? Dream on!

After seeing Gu Lianxin off, Ji Xiaoxiao returned to the chaise lounge and rubbed her cold cheeks. Despite not being made of steel, Ji Xiaoxiao simply couldn't make any expression; her facial muscles seemed to be necrotic.

"Sigh." Ji Xiaoxiao sighed heavily.

After more than ten days, the Lotus Holy Sect group finally arrived at Mirror Lake Water Moon Cloud Manor after overcoming numerous difficulties.

"The presence of the Holy Son and Holy Daughter of the Lotus Holy Sect is an honor to our humble abode, Shuiyueyun Manor." A young man in his early twenties approached Ji Xiaoxiao and Bai Hehua with clasped hands.

"It's been a few years, and Young Master Yun's demeanor is even more impressive than before." Bai Hehua stepped forward and walked in front of the group from the Lotus Holy Sect.

Bai Hehua and Young Master Yun were both heroes of the younger generation in the martial arts world. They chatted happily, and within the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, they were already calling each other brothers. Ji Xiaoxiao had been traveling for several days and nights and was exhausted both physically and mentally. She nodded to Young Master Yun and then went to rest under the guidance of the servants of Shuiyue Yunzhuang. This short rest lasted for five days.

The moon hangs high in the sky, stars twinkle across the heavens, and the cloudless sky makes it the perfect time for a romantic view. A lazy breeze carries a gentle, refreshing scent, and invisible moisture adds a cool touch. Outside the window, the sycamore trees are lush and their roots intertwine, the leaves rustling softly, their sounds blending with the slightly noisy chirping of crickets to create a melodious and enchanting natural symphony.

"Creak." The window was pushed open.

Ji Xiaoxiao, sitting on the drum stool, glanced at Gu Lianxin, who was stealing chickens and dogs. She picked up a piece of osmanthus cake with her white jade fingers and slowly put it into her mouth. The soft, sweet and delicious taste instantly swept through Ji Xiaoxiao's mouth.

"You seem quite relaxed, not at all surprised by my arrival." Gu Lianxin picked up a drum stool and sat down opposite Ji Xiaoxiao.
