After Ji Xiaoxiao finished chanting the incantation, her body emitted a purple-gold light. The zombies hiding in the shadows were instantly destroyed upon contact with her, their bodies and souls turning into green smoke and dissipating into the sky.
"Drink!" Ji Xiaoxiao shouted, beginning a one-sided slaughter.
The beam of light from the Bagua mirror shattered, and the Samadhi True Fire beneath Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang's feet surged straight into the sky. The willow branches standing on both sides shed leaves one by one, yet the leaves never ceased to fall. Fire thrives when it meets wood, and wood is reborn in the fire. The Samadhi True Fire roared into the sky, and the willow branches were lush and green.
"Ah..." Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang cried out in alarm as they were burned by the divine fire.
Ji Xiaoxiao slightly curled the corners of her lips. This is painful? The main course hasn't even arrived yet!
The scattered talismans struck Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang in an orderly fashion. The peach wood sword, which was stuck in the bluestone slab, transformed into thousands of illusory sword shadows, piercing Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang's hearts with lightning speed.
About fifteen minutes later, no more sounds could be heard from the pillar of fire.
"Could it have vanished into thin air?"
Ji Xiaoxiao dared not be careless and ended the massacre with her final, strongest move. Afterward, the Bagua mirror shattered and could no longer be used, the raging flames subsided, the willow branches finally withered, and all the talismans were used up, leaving not a single one. The peach wood sword was once again in Ji Xiaoxiao's hand.
Ji Xiaoxiao carefully stepped forward with the peach wood sword and saw two large lumps of black charcoal on the ground.
"Could those two be Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang?"
Ji Xiaoxiao poked it with her peach wood sword, and a tiny bit of the charred outer skin peeled off.
As the saying goes, strike while the iron is hot.
Unable to confirm for herself whether Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang had perished, Ji Xiaoxiao, undeterred by the trouble, decided to deliver a final blow—a sword piercing their hearts. She refused to believe that Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang could still linger on.
Ji Xiaoxiao raised her sword to the sky, muttering incantations.
As the poem ended, the ordinary peach wood sword flashed with light, and the fragrance of peach wood was refreshing.
"Break through demons and evil spirits, slay monsters and drive away ghosts, so be it!"
Ji Xiaoxiao aimed her sword at the heart of one of the lumps of black charcoal and stabbed it down.
The sword tip pierced halfway into the charcoal-covered body; with another burst of force, the peach wood sword snapped.
"How could this be?" Ji Xiaoxiao swayed.
With Ji Xiaoxiao's divine incantation enhancing it, the peach wood sword could easily cleave mountains and cut through iron. How did such a small lump of charcoal develop such incredible skill, becoming invulnerable to swords and spears?
Ji Xiaoxiao was stunned for a moment. She threw the broken peach wood sword at Hei Tan's body, and added rooster blood and lotus seed powder. Using the essence blood as a base, she used Samadhi True Fire to burn Hei Tan, determined to grind him to dust.
The fire burned for almost an hour, but the charcoal remained unharmed.
"No wonder they are time-traveling men and women," Ji Xiaoxiao sincerely praised.
Suddenly, the charcoal stalks moved.
"Is it waking up? No, I need to quicken my pace."
Ji Xiaoxiao squatted down, holding her only weapon in her hand—a stonemason's awl.
Iron is harder than wood, and Ji Xiaoxiao didn't believe that this charcoal could withstand the hammer and chisel of a stonemason.
With a powerful blow to Heitan's chest, Heitan, whose eyes were tightly closed, opened them.
"Xu Qi." The voice was hoarse, the throat dry as if it hadn't had a drop of water in a century.
"You are no longer human, so don't linger in this world. There is no place for you here anymore. Go to hell sooner!" Ji Xiaoxiao poured spiritual power into her right hand, raised the hammer high, and brought it down hard on the stonemason's awl in her heart.
"Ah..." Hong Fu howled, "Kill her, kill her, kill her for me!"
At her command, the low-level zombies hiding in the shadows surged towards Ji Xiaoxiao like a tidal wave. Ji Xiaoxiao had almost exhausted her magical artifacts, and her spiritual power was severely depleted. She could crush the heads of the densely packed low-level zombies with her bare hands, but even ants can kill an elephant if they outnumber them.
Moreover, if she didn't strike ruthlessly while Hong Fu and Zhan Feiyang were immobilized, once they emerged from their cocoons, the exhausted Ji Xiaoxiao would become easy prey. But if she continued to "steal light through a hole in the wall," Ji Xiaoxiao would surely be devoured by low-level zombies until nothing was left.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Ji Xiaoxiao was at a loss for what to do.
"Hahaha... Xu Fu, you can't kill me, you're the one who's doomed." Ji Xiaoxiao's predicament and panic were seen by Hong Fu, who accurately guessed what Ji Xiaoxiao was thinking.
The low-level zombie was still some distance away from Ji Xiaoxiao, so Ji Xiaoxiao slapped Hong Fu with her backhand.
"You hit me?" Her face didn't hurt, but she was embarrassed. Hong Fu couldn't believe her eyes.
"I'll hit you, so what?"
Enraged by Hong Fu, Ji Xiaoxiao decided to take Hong Fu's life without any regard for the consequences.
Whether you stick your neck out or not, you're going to die anyway, so you might as well go all out.
"Even if I die today, you will be buried with me."
Ji Xiaoxiao acted even faster and more ruthlessly, chiseling open the copper skin of the red cloth to reveal its foul-smelling, pitch-black interior.
"That's disgusting."
Ji Xiaoxiao picked out a small piece of dark meat and forcefully stuffed it into Hong Fu's mouth.
"Waaah..." Hong Fu kept her mouth shut, refusing to cooperate with Ji Xiaoxiao.
"Laugh, laugh again, just laugh!"
In this race against time, Hong Fu refused Ji Xiaoxiao's kind gift, so Ji Xiaoxiao could only concentrate on her research and development.
No sooner said than done. Just as the low-level zombie reached out its claws to scratch Ji Xiaoxiao's back, the stonemason's cone pierced Hong Fu's heart.
Hong Fu cried out, completely unable to move.
The death of the general had a crucial impact on the soldiers. Ji Xiaoxiao ruthlessly killed Hong Fu, and the low-level zombies subconsciously dared not approach the fierce and evil figure, and retreated step by step.
After dealing with Hong Fu, only Zhan Feiyang, who was still unconscious, remained.
About ten minutes later, Ji Xiaoxiao pierced a small hole in Zhan Feiyang's chest.
