Chapter 238 Don't Be a Savior (Part 5)

"If that's the case, that's not what I meant."

The plum and peach blossoms resembled a defeated rooster, covered in wounds, dejected, and listless.

Regardless of what you mean, Ji Xiaoxiao's temper was ignited by Mei Taohua's remarks, and asking her to leave the stage at this moment was simply out of the question.

"Plum Blossom, in your heart, are my son and I utterly insignificant? I know that your people, human safety, and world peace are what truly matter to you."

If Mei Taohua hadn't been meddling in things that didn't concern her, creating some kind of savior code and covenant, trying to install some kind of chip in the precious heads of the saviors to control them, how could the world have been in such turmoil, and how could the original owner have died such a tragic death?

"More trouble than good" perfectly describes someone like Mei Taohua.

“Plum Blossom, no matter how much power I possess, in front of my child, I am just an ordinary mother. I am not as loving and great as you, who would give up the life of your own child for the worthless life of an unrelated person.”

Ji Xiaoxiao is cold-hearted; her benevolence is only directed towards her own people.

"If that's the case, please don't be unreasonable."

As a member of humanity, what's wrong with worrying about the survival of humankind, or caring about world peace? A nation, a nation—only with a nation can there be a home; he was doing this for the sake of his family!

“If you are pregnant now and your emotions are unstable, I understand. But that is not a reason for you to stand by and watch people die.” Mei Taohua suppressed her anger and gently persuaded Ji Xiaoxiao, “As the saying goes, saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. Your power is a gift from heaven, and you should use it to eliminate evil and promote good, and save people from suffering.”

"Mei Taohua, don't you understand? It's not that I'm unwilling to help, it's that I can't." Ji Xiaoxiao grabbed Mei Taohua's hand and pressed it against her slightly bloated belly. "Feel the child in my belly. Are you still willing to sacrifice him?"

The child was not yet fully formed, but the feeling of being connected to flesh and blood made Mei Taohua tremble.

"Soldiers defend their homes and country, their lives hanging by a thread. If necessary, I am willing."

What they are willing to do is self-evident.

Upon hearing this, Ji Xiaoxiao jumped up and looked down at Mei Taohua with disdain.

“Even tigers don’t eat their cubs, Plum Blossom, I think you’re not even as good as an animal. Soldiers risk their lives to protect their country, and I, Piao Ruoran, admire them from the bottom of my heart. You, Plum Blossom, try to imitate them, but you only learn the surface. You’re unwilling to give up your own life, but you know how to put righteousness before family. Are you even human? He’s your child, and he’s my child, Piao Ruoran’s child.”

Ji Xiaoxiao was furious and slapped Mei Taohua across the face.

“I’m telling you, Plum Blossom, I’ll do anything for my child.”

So, never try to pull a tiger's mane.

Ji Xiaoxiao went mad, and Mei Taohua went insane too.

"Why can't you understand? You are the savior, so you should do everything you can for world peace, not give up the hope of others to live for the sake of one child."

Whether it's a nation or a family, who doesn't know which is more important?

How could Mei Taohua not love her own child? However, compared to national interests, the survival of the people, and world stability, the life of a child is insignificant.

Mei Taohua looked at Ji Xiaoxiao with a stubborn yet apologetic expression.

Ji Xiaoxiao looked annoyed, disregarding Mei Taohua's cheap apology.

"I am a savior, and also a mother," Ji Xiaoxiao stated her position.

Both sides had their own reasons, and Mei Taohua couldn't argue with Ji Xiaoxiao, so she sighed and said, "Piao Ruoran, you're incorrigible, selfish and self-serving. You really disappoint me."

Ji Xiaoxiao snorted and headed towards the bedroom.

The two disagreed and parted on bad terms.

The next morning, Ji Xiaoxiao opened the locked door, walked to the dining table in the living room, and sat down to eat breakfast as usual.

"Uh, that's strange." The dining table was empty, there was nothing there.

Ji Xiaoxiao released her divine sense; apart from her, there was no one else in the house.

After a moment of contemplation, Ji Xiaoxiao chuckled softly.

Hmph, there's no food at home, but I have money. I can eat whatever delicacies I want.

After changing her clothes, Ji Xiaoxiao went downstairs to the breakfast shop.

The shop wasn't crowded. Ji Xiaoxiao ordered a bowl of porridge and a small dish of pickled vegetables, and happily began to eat. Outside the window, people came and went, and the sounds of vendors hawking their wares and various machines filled the air. Exhaust fumes polluted the morning air, leaving the clear sky a hazy white.

Recalling her argument with Mei Taohua last night, Ji Xiaoxiao was immediately annoyed.

I'm angry at the cruelty of the plum blossoms, and angry at myself for being so impatient.

Does pregnancy really cause a drastic change in personality?

Whether or not Mei Taohua will harm the child in the future is a matter for the future, and there's no need to argue about it now. Even if we reach a conclusion now, plans can never keep up with changes, and who knows what kind of monstrosity the future might take?

"Big sister, what are you doing here?"

Ji Xiaoxiao was suddenly patted on the shoulder.

Looking back, lo and behold, it was those two kind-hearted saviors from yesterday.

What are you doing here?

Those destined to meet will find each other even from a thousand miles away; those not destined to meet will not recognize each other even face to face. They are truly destined to be together.

Yu skipped and hopped to sit down next to Ji Xiaoxiao, pointing to the tall building to the upper left of the window, "Big sister, Lin and I live there."

Ji Xiaoxiao looked up and saw that her home was also in that building.

Hey, it's my neighbor!

"I live there too, room 1202 on the 12th floor. What about you?"

Upon hearing Ji Xiaoxiao's words, Yu was so happy that she danced with joy, her little face flushed as if she had been drinking.

"Big sister, we are really destined to meet. Lin and I live in room 2402 on the 24th floor."
