Chapter 247 Don't Be a Savior (End)

An overwhelming pressure, as if the sky were collapsing, suddenly descended, making it difficult for everyone to breathe.

A bolt of lightning struck from the sky, cleaving through the formation set up by Ji Xiaoxiao.

"Wow wow wow..." John held a chicken leg in his hand, took a bite out of it, and suddenly started running around, jumping up and down.

“It’s Grandpa, Grandpa’s here, Grandpa’s here.” John muttered softly as he squatted in the corner.

Ji Xiaoxiao looked up and, through the roof, seemed to see the person standing tall in the sky.

"I never expected Okostin to be so powerful."

Both being among the top ten strongest on the world's savior list, the original owner was worlds apart from Okostin, their strengths belonging to completely different levels and incomparable.

Ji Xiaoxiao slammed her hand on the table and stood up. With a light wave of her hand, the roof was blown off.

"Whether you're a dragon or a snake, once you come to my territory, you'll all have to coil up before me."

With a bang, Ji Xiaoxiao flew into the sky.

There stood an old man with white hair and a white beard.

"Okostin".

"Queen Piao Piao".

After exchanging brief greetings, the two fell silent.

Dark clouds churned overhead, accompanied by thunder and lightning, but they remained completely undisturbed.

They stood motionless, their gazes meeting, and the heavens and earth trembled. The crackling flames brought with them an intense heat; taking even a step closer meant certain death or serious injury.

The sky was dark and gloomy, the temperature fluctuated, and a light drizzle of willow catkins began to fall.

Just then, the two of them moved.

Okostin appears thin, but is actually strong and powerful. His movements are agile and swift, unlike those of an elderly man. He is as fast as lightning and difficult to follow with the eyes.

Okostin rushed towards Ji Xiaoxiao, his clenched fist swung sharply upwards. Ji Xiaoxiao remained calm, extending her palm to cover the fist, using a Tai Chi technique to redirect the force of Okostin's blows, sending him staggering back several steps.

Okostin was utterly shocked. Ji Xiaoxiao could see how splendid and bloody his tightly clenched hands were beneath the long sleeves of his Tang suit.

"Don't be surprised, I am the ruler of a country after all," Ji Xiaoxiao said as she fought.

Okostin was momentarily stunned. The next second, he raised his hand to the sky, and a giant bolt of lightning struck down.

The blinding flash caused Ji Xiaoxiao to unconsciously close her eyes.

When Ji Xiaoxiao wasted a brief second in the black and white, she opened her eyes again and found herself already in Okostin's arms.

"Xiaoxiao, why are you only arriving now?"

This murmur made Ji Xiaoxiao feel guilty.

"You are... Yunming?" Could it really be him?

"Do I look like it to you?"

Okostin pushed Ji Xiaoxiao away so that he could examine her carefully.

With white hair and a white beard, it was impossible to tell if he was ugly or handsome. He had some flesh, but it was almost expired. Was he Yunming...? He must be. Besides Yunming, who else knew his real name?

Upon seeing her lover after a long separation, Ji Xiaoxin was overjoyed and wanted to rush over, but she was afraid that his old arms and legs couldn't take it, so she could only convey her feelings with teary eyes.

"Did it hurt that time?" Ji Xiaoxiao trembled as she recalled Yunming's death.

Yunming paused for a moment, then immediately understood what Ji Xiaoxiao meant.

He didn't speak, but just looked at Ji Xiaoxiao with a serious expression and shook his head slightly.

"I should have saved you," Ji Xiaoxiao said, her voice choked with emotion.

“He’s stronger than you. I’m glad you didn’t fight back.” Yunming kissed Ji Xiaoxiao’s eye. “You’re a good person. I don’t want anything to happen to you. If one day you are hurt or in pain because of me, I would rather you not remember me.”

"How could I forget? You are the one I love!"

First love is so beautiful, bittersweet, painful yet hard to let go.

"If you really can't forget me, I will... ah...."

Yunming let out a soft cry of pain, his hand behind his back clenching into a fist.

"Your Majesty, Your Majesty, be careful!" Liao Kongmin cried out desperately from below.

What's wrong?

“Grandpa.” John, who had been hiding in the corner, ran out. His face was covered with glistening water droplets from the light drizzle.

Is he crying?

Ji Xiaoxiao's brain is like a computer that has crashed and broken down; she's always a beat behind in everything.

"Don't think about anything else, just look at me now."

Yunming cupped Ji Xiaoxiao's face in his hands, and the two exchanged loving glances at each other.

"I want you to be happy for the rest of your life. If I hurt you in the future and you can't forget me, I will help you." Yunming's lips parted slightly, uttering three words silently.

After Yunming finished speaking, he leaned into Ji Xiaoxiao's arms with a faint smile on his face.

Ji Xiaoxiao reached out and caught Yun Ming, her palm touching something warm and sticky.

Hold it with one hand, raise the other hand, and lo and behold, there's bright red blood.

"Yunming, Yunming, Yunming..." Ji Xiaoxiao kept calling out.

However, some efforts are ultimately futile.

The person she was holding was stiff as a board in the continuous rain, his face ashen and bloodless, and Ji Xiaoxiao still couldn't see the true face beneath the white beard.

"Are you just an insignificant passerby in my life? Why do you always come and go in such a hurry? I have so much to say to you, I... I really miss you, I miss you so much." Ji Xiaoxiao hugged the corpse, her chin resting on the corpse's shoulder, tears welling up in her tightly closed eyes.

...

Not far away, a prison formed by the power of lightning held a hideous monster.

Lying in the monster's arms was a man with a sallow complexion. The man was listless, thin and weak, with sunken eyes and limp limbs. His entire weight was pressing down on the monster.

"Lin," Xian called out pitifully.

Xian held Lin as they floated in the center of the lightning prison, carefully avoiding touching any lightning, but they were still shocked by the lightning particles and their bodies went numb.
