The dark space was as pitch black as ever, but this time it felt more oppressive.
Yunming was bound in mid-air by the golden dragon. He looked up and screamed, his voice hoarse and mocking. With each heavy blow and injury, his calm face was completely shattered.
Ji Xiaoxiao stood outside the golden pillar, watching coldly and refusing to offer any help.
“Ji Xiaoxiao, you brought people into the Dark Space without authorization, and one of them is an assassin. The crimes you have committed are unforgivable. However, considering that you have worked hard even if you have not made any great contributions, I can give you a chance to repent. You only need to show me your loyalty.”
The adult slowly approached, stopping just a step away from the golden dragon pillar.
Ji Xiaoxiao knelt on one knee, her head touching the black earth, "Please give your orders, sir."
As the adult entered, some of the black mist swirling around him drifted into Ji Xiaoxiao's nose.
"Kill him." The man pointed to Yunming, who was suspended high in the air.
Yunming stopped roaring and struggling, and looked at Ji Xiaoxiao with his eyes curved.
It's either you die or I die; human nature is selfish, and no one wants to die young.
Ji Xiaoxiao glanced at the weathered dagger at her feet. "My lord, may I use it?"
The adult curled his lips into a smile, and with a wave of his hand, a cloud of gray-black mist dissipated from the weathered dagger.
"I've modified it for you. Although its power has been greatly reduced, it no longer has the burdensome limitation of trading one's life for another. It's still more than enough to deal with high-level immortals."
Ji Xiaoxiao bent down and picked up the weathered dagger. Her palm touched the handle, and the barbs on the handle viciously pierced Ji Xiaoxiao's flesh, gurgling as if they were swallowing her blood.
Nothing is more sorrowful than a broken heart. Ji Xiaoxiao ignored him, her hand still tightly gripping his.
"Good, that's ruthless enough. You'll definitely achieve great things in the future."
The adult glanced sideways at the half-dead Yunming, and the next moment, Yunming was moved to Ji Xiaoxiao's side. Yunming's limbs were bound by a golden dragon, its seemingly metallic texture cold and hard. Four black "rings" were burned into Yunming's wrists and ankles.
The stray dog looked pitiful and wretched. Ji Xiaoxiao was still not satisfied, so she stomped hard on Yunming's heart, causing him to cough up blood and suffer excruciating pain.
The adults stood aside, watching the former lovers kill each other—no, perhaps it was a one-sided persecution, revenge, and release of hatred.
Ji Xiaoxiao squatted down and straightened Yunming's head with a blank expression.
"Look at me," Ji Xiaoxiao said coldly.
With the mindset that he was doomed to die and that dying sooner would be better, Yunming stared at Ji Xiaoxiao without any scruples.
Why did you lie to me? Haven't I treated you well?
Yunming laughed and said, "Tell me how you've been good to me!"
Looking at Yunming's gloating expression, he was certain that Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't explain the reason.
Ji Xiaoxiao took a deep breath and suddenly shouted, "For you, I will keep myself pure and have no dealings with other men; for you, I will kill and commit arson, and do all kinds of evil; for you, I will be audacious and dare to talk back to adults and bargain."
Yunming burst into laughter, as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world.
"We're a couple, and it's only natural that you keep yourself pure for my sake. As for your wicked deeds, that's just your nature, so who else can you blame? I'm not the scapegoat, so please don't try to pin everything on me. A gentleman's word is his bond. Since you promised to stay by my side forever and promised to keep your word and take full responsibility for everything, big or small, your arguing and bargaining with that person was your duty and obligation, not something you did for me. If you want to be good to me, fine, then go and kill him now."
He is the master of the dark space, the great man inside the golden dragon pillar.
The adult was very displeased that his handsome swan was being coveted and spied on by the ugly toad. His face was grim, his brows furrowed deeply, forming the character "川" (river).
"Ji Xiaoxiao, stop talking nonsense and kill him quickly. You still have a mission to carry out."
Out of sight, out of mind; it would be best if Yunming died soon, so as to save him the trouble of personally taking action.
"My lord, please wait a moment. I still have some questions to ask him." Ji Xiaoxiao was eager to know Yun Ming's motivation for doing this.
After thinking about it, the adult agreed to give Ji Xiaoxiao a little more time.
Ji Xiaoxiao raced against time, throwing Yunming away with one hand. With a leap, she easily crushed Yunming's bloodied right hand with one foot.
Yunming bit his lip, stubbornly refusing to utter a single cry of pain. However, the excruciating pain was unbearable, and Yunming, slightly careless, bit his lip, drawing bright red blood that trickled down his lip and slowly seeped into the black earth.
Seeing this, Ji Xiaoxiao was displeased. In a flash, her ancient dagger severed Yunming's right hand, flesh and bone intact. The wound, the size of a bowl, was horrifying.
The pain came so intensely and repeatedly that Yunming cried out in alarm, "Ah..."
This sound was like a demonic chant, shaking one's mind and spirit.
Ji Xiaoxiao slapped Yunming across the face. "Woman, shut up."
Yunming was panting heavily, his mouth trembling uncontrollably. He swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing, and large beads of sweat streamed into his eyes. The feeling was indescribably intense.
"Good children get candy." Ji Xiaoxiao patted Yunming's pale face and casually plunged the weathered dagger into Yunming's thigh.
Perhaps because he was afraid of being beaten, Yunming remained silent at this moment.
Ji Xiaoxiao forced a bright smile and said softly, "Come, tell me why you wanted to assassinate the master. If you're quick enough, I'll give you a quick death."
Yunming turned his head away and looked at the adult inside the golden dragon pillar.
"Instead of asking me, you should ask him."
