Mr. and Mrs. Shen stumbled backward, nearly falling to the ground. "Your sister helped you!"
What a terrible thing to do!
Shen Fei's parents couldn't understand why, despite providing her with the best and most formal education, she had become self-taught and developed her own set of standards and rules for conduct.
Shen Shuang helped him and saved him, but he thought Shen Shuang was meddling in other people's business and harming others for her own benefit.
Shen Fei deeply resented his second sister, who protected him, but was wholeheartedly devoted to his third sister, who beat and scolded him. Is it a case of loving someone so much you want them to live, and hating someone so much you want them to die?
Shen's father and mother both turned to look at Shen Lu, who was watching from the sidelines. Was it her fault?
If she hadn't beaten Shen Fei when she was a child, none of this would have happened today?
The back of the hand is flesh, and the palm is flesh too. The five fingers are connected to the heart, yet they are of different lengths. No matter how unreasonable or cold-hearted Shen Fei may be, she is still their child!
Reluctant to severely punish Shen Fei, they could only target Shen Lu instead.
"Shen Lu, it's all your fault, you bastard!" Shen's father suddenly shouted.
Chen's mother added fuel to the fire, saying, "Chen Lu, I don't have a daughter like you."
Even lying down, you get shot?
Shen Lu sat there blankly, her curved eyelashes trembling slightly, revealing her helplessness and fear.
"Mom, Dad, this has nothing to do with me. Shen Fei did all of this. I had no idea. I'm innocent," Shen Lu shouted in her defense.
The father and mother had their own reasons for abandoning their son and daughter.
Shen Fei stood aside, watching helplessly as his parents suddenly launched an attack, unjustly and baselessly slandering his innocent sister. This was intolerable! How dare those two old bastards touch his sister right in front of him? Were they courting death?
Shen Fei swung her fists, putting all her strength into punching her parents repeatedly.
Shen Lin was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly stopped Shen Fei.
"They are your parents."
They've gone mad, the people in this family are absolutely insane.
Shen Fei gave an arrogant laugh, tossing her greasy hair in large clumps.
"Anyone who touches my sister, I will take their life."
The dew is the bottom line for Shen Fei.
After Shen Fei landed a couple of punches, his parents were so shocked that they fainted. Shen Lin couldn't just punish Shen Fei, so he ordered him to be imprisoned.
After a night, Mr. and Mrs. Shen slowly woke up.
Looking at their eldest son, whose eyes were dark and whose stubble was growing vigorously, they were overcome with sorrow.
"Lin'er, how is Fei'er?" Father Shen asked.
Shen Lin stood straight, head held high, shoulders level. This imposing figure must have carried an immense burden.
"I locked him in the basement."
Mr. and Mrs. Shen nodded, ate a simple breakfast, and then wandered into the Shen family's basement.
The basement was cold and damp, with the constant dripping sound of water.
Mr. and Mrs. Shen shrank their necks and involuntarily shivered.
"Lin'er, Fei'er is your younger brother, how could you lock him up here?" Madam Chen looked around and couldn't help but ask with concern, "Lin'er, did you bring Fei'er breakfast? Fei'er only eats plain wheat bread and drinks fresh milk, you can't forget that, can you? Hmph... It's cold in here, Lin'er, have you prepared a blanket?"
Chen's mother chattered on and on, but Chen Lin paid no attention and continued walking forward at a leisurely pace.
Upon arriving at the cell where Shen Fei was being held, Shen Fei's parents paused in their steps.
"Chen Lin, is this how you treat your younger brother?"
The prison cell was well-fed and well-drinked, with everything one could need.
Shen Fei leaned against the wall, looking dejected, with her hands wrapped around her calves and her chin resting on her knees.
From a young age, Shen Fei was a spoiled and willful rich kid. When his parents saw him looking dejected and unhappy, they were heartbroken and wept bitterly.
Ignoring his parents' accusations, Shen Lin calmly asked, "Father, Mother, what do you plan to do with Shen Fei?"
Mr. Shen waved his hand impatiently, "That's my son. I've already talked to him, scolded him, and even hit him. Is that all?"
“Yes, the dead cannot be brought back to life. Shuang’er certainly wouldn’t want to see us leave, Fei’er.” Mother Shen thought she understood Shen Shuang very well. Her face was sorrowful, but she was radiant.
Shen Lin did not reply and turned to leave the basement.
After that day, no one ever saw Shen Lin again.
Rumor has it that Shen Lin left City A and Hope Base, willingly feeding the two's strange beasts. Others say that Shen Lin loved beauty more than power, abandoning everything from the Shen family to follow an unknown woman...
Opinions varied and no consensus was reached, but Ji Xiaoxiao, who loved to listen to gossip when she was bored, paid no attention. A year after the apocalypse, at this very moment, the first "doomsday massacre" of the era of cataclysmic changes finally arrived, and the calm lake surface was finally rippled.
Ji Xiaoxiao stood on the city wall, watching the strangely shaped beasts, now several times larger than before, thronging around her below. Her heart sank lower and lower. The roars of the beasts rose and fell, shaking the heavens and earth.
The beasts were menacing and ready to attack. The difference was stark; the emaciated city guards behind them trembled with fear, utterly devoid of fighting spirit, and utterly useless.
Ji Xiaoxiao shook her head and said, "It's about to begin."
Liao Yu stood next to Ji Xiaoxiao and clearly heard Ji Xiaoxiao's "prophecy".
"Everyone, get ready."
As soon as Liao Yu finished speaking, the beasts moved.
Even though the defenders were terrified, they had no choice but to take up arms and fight bravely for the lives of themselves and their families.
In that battle, the beasts were defeated and humanity won, but suffered heavy casualties and bloodshed.
The cruelty of war was revealed to humankind for the first time: "To injure the enemy by a thousand, one's own will suffer eight hundred casualties."
