"Colonel, the door is blocked," someone said sadly.
"Damn it." The colonel slammed his fist against the wall. "Jin Xin, you came up with this plan, so you have to make sure our Bauhinia Legion is unharmed."
Jin Xin sneered, his rough face dark and terrifying.
"Colonel James, are you insane? Unscathed? Do you think war is a game?" Jin Xin said sternly.
War is no child's play, as Colonel James, who had weathered many storms, knew perfectly well. He was making unreasonable demands only because Jin Xin was out of favor with the emperor. So what if she was surnamed Long? So what if she was one of Sacramento's five generals? She was still just a whore to be played with.
"Jin Xin, you'd better pray that we're safe and sound. Otherwise, when we get back, I won't hold back. I'll report the truth to His Majesty exactly as it is."
"Are you threatening me?"
Jin Xin suddenly turned around, his dark eyes fixed on James without blinking.
"What do you want to do?" James felt uneasy and panicked, as if he, a pure and harmless little white rabbit, had been targeted by a wolf with sharp teeth.
"Want to tattle? Wait until you're alive and back home."
Jin Xin suddenly attacked, blowing James's head off with a single shot.
Blood splattered everywhere, brains spilled out, and the already panicked Bauhinia Legion was thrown into complete chaos.
"Colonel James was killed. Colonel James was killed by Jin Xin."
The monitors were slightly negligent in their duties, and unexpectedly, such a major incident occurred.
Squeezing into the crowd, the monitor lowered his head, and James's dead body came into view.
"Jin Xin".
James is truly dead as can be.
The monitor stormed up to Jin Xin, raising his hand to slap him.
If you don't discipline them for a day, they'll be climbing on the roof and tearing off the tiles; if you don't discipline them for two days, they'll be scratching their skin.
That bitch deserves to be taught a lesson!
Snap! The hand that was swinging down was grabbed tightly.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch..." The monitor frowned, groaning repeatedly. "Who are you?"
The newcomer was a complete stranger, not wearing the uniform of the Bauhinia Legion, and had a cold expression, as if someone present owed him money and wouldn't pay. The monitor thought for a moment; he wasn't one of their men.
"Men, seize him! He's a spy for Sacramento."
The monitor shouted, and the Bauhinia soldiers instantly sprang into action, surrounding John with an impenetrable cordon.
"John, what brings you here?" Jin Xin asked in surprise.
Why is John here? His sudden appearance is disrupting our plans, isn't it?
Jin Xin didn't have time to think, and his body involuntarily stepped in front of John.
The monitor noticed Jin Xin's "eagerness to protect his master." He had endured wind and rain without complaint, and his hard work finally paid off. The monitor finally caught Jin Xin red-handed.
"Good heavens, Jin Xin, you've actually colluded with the enemy!" the monitor shouted. "Arrest Jin Xin, alive! I'm taking him back to His Majesty for punishment."
Before handing it over to His Majesty, he wanted to have some fun first.
John stood behind Jin Xin, whose tall stature perfectly concealed him, blocking others from view and preventing John from seeing the ugly face of the person monitoring him.
John's eyes narrowed slightly; he instinctively loathed being watched.
"Don't spout nonsense!" Jin Xin said angrily.
The monitor didn't take it seriously and laughed, "Jin Xin, if you don't want to suffer, you'd better surrender. If we really fight and you get hurt, I won't be able to explain it to His Majesty."
"Explain? Are you slandering me? I...."
Before Jin Xin could finish speaking, John delivered a swift chop to the neck, knocking the unsuspecting man unconscious.
"John, you...."
John caught Jin Xin and leaned down to whisper in Jin Xin's ear, "The Star Lord wants me to take you back, by any means necessary."
The monitor was shocked by John's fighting prowess. He never expected that the seemingly frail and weak scholar would be so skilled, easily knocking Jin Xin unconscious. The monitor had had in-depth conversations with Jin Xin. So what if he used a hand chop? He had even used a real weapon, but Jin Xin was stubborn and persevered time and time again.
"Who are you?" The monitor stepped back.
"The one who'll take your dog's life."
John picked up Jin Xin and, using his flying shoes, glided through the air, quickly leaving the area.
"Fire! Fire!"
Ultimately, we were a step too late.
The monitor stared at the clear blue sky, almost grinding his teeth in hatred.
"Get out of here! If you don't find Jin Xin, you don't need to come back!" The monitor roared furiously, his voice carrying for miles.
Just then, countless black dots suddenly appeared in the clear sky.
"Look?" someone asked, pointing tremblingly at the sky.
"Stop it, I didn't hear you..."
Looking up, the person was equally dumbfounded.
"That's a cannon ion compression bomb," the knowledgeable person said, revealing the real name of the black dot.
The temporary command center of the Star River Empire.
"They're all dead?" Long Aotian was frighteningly calm.
"Yes... Your Majesty, the Bauhinia Army... regiment was completely annihilated in this battle."
Here, the legion commander of the Bauhinia Legion silently shed tears.
"Your Majesty," the legion commander said mournfully.
"Shut up!" Long Aotian roared. "Contact the Dark Star People and tell them that I am willing to agree to their conditions."
