Chapter 344 The Heiress's Revenge Seventeen

Before the sun had even set, the abyss valley was already shrouded in gray and desolation.

The birdsong was mournful and eerie. The leaves rustled, and shadows flickered.

Inside a cave, the firelight flickered, and a huge human figure was reflected on the cave wall, with strong men guarding the treasure in the center of the cave in layers.

Ji Xiaoxiao frowned. She had encountered a problem as soon as she arrived. What a bad start!

Hebrew lay on the air mattress, babbling incoherently, large beads of sweat sprouting up like bamboo shoots after a rain, soaking a large patch of the sheet.

"How is she?" Ji Xiaoxiao asked the accompanying military doctor.

The military doctor took off his stethoscope and said, "Hebrew's condition is very bad. His heartbeat is irregular, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. His internal organs are rapidly weakening. There seems to be a foreign object in his brain, blocking his nerves, which is why he is having nightmares and cannot wake up."

"Is there a foreign object in my brain, a tumor?"

The human brain is complex and ingenious; even the slightest injury or pain should not be ignored.

The medic shook his head, his shoulders slumped, and said, "I don't know. The specific reason requires medical equipment from Star City. There's nothing in the wild. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't do anything. I can only do my best to save Hebrew's life."

Ji Xiaoxiao sighed.

"Thank you for your help." Ji Xiaoxiao patted the military doctor on the shoulder.

The military doctor was flattered and quickly said, "It is my responsibility, Star Lord, you don't need to say that."

Hebrew awoke leisurely at midday on the fourth day, after spending three days in the cave.

"You're awake. How are you feeling?"

After being delayed on the way to rescue people, even the usually composed Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't help but feel anxious.

Hebrew held his head, his expression shifting unpredictably.

“Lord Star, I’m alright now.” After a while, Hebrew said with a radiant expression, “Lord Star, I’ve turned misfortune into blessing. I remember what happened after that day.”

Ji Xiaoxiao sat down and listened intently to Hebrew's eloquent speech.

"That night, the serpents overwhelmed General Musen and the Dark Aliens. Then the serpents chased after me at full speed. I was far enough away that I barely escaped, but unfortunately I fell down the slope. I was worried about General Musen and the others' safety, so I gritted my teeth and stood up, carefully walking back. I saw the serpents carrying General Musen and the others towards the east side of the open space. I wanted to save General Musen, but I... I..."

As he spoke, Hebrew covered his face and rose, weeping uncontrollably.

Ji Xiaoxiao remained calm and expressionless.

After a long escape, a night's journey, and a terrifying chase, Hebrew must have been utterly exhausted. Despite falling down the slope and enduring the pain, Hebrew still managed to return to the open space, gather information, and rescue Musen—a truly remarkable feat.

Ji Xiaoxiao did not criticize Hebrew too harshly, as one person's strength is ultimately limited.

After crying for a while, Hebrew felt embarrassed and quietly wiped away his tears.

"Star Lord, let's go." Hebrew stood up proudly, his tall figure exuding an aura of unwavering ambition and strength.

Ji Xiaoxiao sat still.

"Lord of the Stars," Hebrew cried again, "Lord of the Stars, I have a feeling, I feel that General Musen is definitely not dead yet, General Musen is waiting for us."

"No," Ji Xiaoxiao refused.

"Why?" Hebrew asked, somewhat angrily.

"Because of you, your health is not good and you need to rest."

Wounded soldiers are not allowed to fight; if you are sent to fight, it's because you have no other choice.

"Lord Star, I'm all better now, I'm fine, you can..."

"Shut up, just rest when I tell you to."

Ji Xiaoxiao yelled at Heber, patted her bottom, and went out of the cave to bask in the sun.

Two days later, after repeated assurances from the military doctor that Hebrew was in good health, Ji Xiaoxiao reluctantly agreed to let him go.

The group packed their bags and hurried on their way.

With confidence, Hebrew led Ji Xiaoxiao and the others through winding paths to the foot of a small hill.

The hill is about two hundred meters high, covered with small trees and bushes, except for the top, which is completely bare. At the foot of the hill are caves of all sizes, some bottomless, some dripping water, and others...

The caves were of all shapes and sizes, and Ji Xiaoxiao and her group chose two dry caves as their campsites.

“Hebrew, the Lord of the Stars calls you.”

Hebrew was busy chopping wood with the other soldiers when he suddenly heard that Ji Xiaoxiao had something important to tell him. He quickly dropped what he was doing and ran off in a flash.

"This kid is fast."

“It’s not just fast, it’s also incredibly light. You wouldn’t believe it, when he was unconscious, I was carrying him back and forth. Tsk tsk, that Hebrew kid looks so strong, but when I held him, he was like a woman’s tiny waist.” The man made a small circle with his hands. “He was so thin, it gave me quite a fright.”

"real?"

"Of course it's true, it's making me... "

"What else is wrong? It can't be...?"

"Brother, I wish you happiness."

"No, that's not what I meant. You guys shouldn't jump to conclusions. I... I like it..."

"We know you like so-and-so, don't we?"

"Yes," everyone answered in unison.

Hebrew, unaware that his brothers were playing a joke on him, hurriedly left. He arrived at Ji Xiaoxiao's tent, but the tent was locked. Hebrew hesitated for a long time, unsure of what to do.

With a ripping sound, just as the Hebrews were wondering what to do, the tent was pulled open from the inside.
