Chapter 348 The Heiress's Revenge, Part 21

"Your Majesty, Star City in Sacramento has been destroyed, and our army has already occupied it."

"Hahaha……."

Long Aotian tilted his head back and drank a glass of wine, the bright red liquid overflowing from the corners of his mouth, flowing down his chin and into his chest. The cool liquid, the burning blood—Long Aotian was filled with confidence.

“Sacryton is finally mine.”

Long Aotian smashed the wine glass hard, and it shattered on the ground.

"Congratulations, Your Majesty! Congratulations, Your Majesty! Your Majesty is blessed with boundless fortune. Sacramento should rightfully be yours." Long Aotian was in high spirits, and General Liu, disregarding his own dignity, hurriedly flattered him, hoping that Long Aotian might reward him with a triumphant return home!

General Liu had had enough of Long Aotian's unpredictable temper and absurd behavior. If he continued to follow Long Aotian, there was no guarantee that Long Aotian wouldn't betray him one day, and he wouldn't even know how he died.

Isn't Long Aotian incredibly blessed?

The army had marched a long way, day and night, and was exhausted both physically and mentally. However, Sacramento seemed to be blind to this, mindlessly letting them rest and recuperate.

Is Elizabeth Agnes a complete fool?

General Liu had worked with Elizabeth for a period of time. During that time, General Liu was burning with envy and jealousy towards that old man McAdam. How could he have given birth to such an intelligent, shrewd, and capable daughter as Elizabeth!

Elizabeth was shrewd and fair, always thinking three steps ahead. On the surface, it seemed Elizabeth was running out of pieces and destined for defeat. In reality, however, her schemes were intricately linked, like a spider's web; once the prey was caught in the silk, death was inevitable.

General Liu had fallen for Elizabeth's tricks many times. He both loved and hated Elizabeth. He loved her and admired her talent, but hated her for not being kinder to him. After all, he was not only a high-ranking official, but also a well-known wise and virtuous elder in the capital.

"Your Majesty, should we send a special force to search for Elizabeth?" Elizabeth is cunning and treacherous; it's hard to say whether she's playing the long game, sacrificing one child to catch another.

Long Aotian's laughter stopped abruptly, and his face instantly darkened.

General Liu knew Elizabeth well; he was cautious and kept her in mind. Having spent every day with Elizabeth, Long Aotian understood even more how terrifying she was. She was incredibly intelligent, almost demonic, skilled in both literature and martial arts, and possessed a mysterious charisma. It seemed that even mortal enemies would follow her wholeheartedly with just a glance.

"General Liu, I am not at ease entrusting this matter to anyone else, as you are personally in charge of it."

Even a centipede with a hundred legs doesn't fall down when dead. Long Aotian couldn't be careless. He had to see her alive or dead. Without seeing Elizabeth's miserable, lifeless face, Long Aotian felt a tightness in his chest, as if he had a breath stuck in his throat, and his heart was filled with anxiety.

"I obey the order."

General Liu was ordered to retreat, but the search results were unsatisfactory. He had sent out thousands of men who turned Star City in Sacramento upside down, almost digging three feet into the ground, but they didn't find a single hair of Elizabeth, let alone her body.

"Can't find it?" Long Aotian sensed something was wrong.

Neither alive nor dead, could Elizabeth be safe and sound? The destruction of Star City and the change of ownership of Sacramento were all Elizabeth's doing, just waiting for these clueless fools to fall into a trap and be unable to extricate themselves, so that she could take them down in one fell swoop.

No! No! No!

Long Aotian shook his head irritably. "Impossible. No matter how far-sighted and cunning Elizabeth is, based on his understanding of her, she would never disregard the millions of people in Xingcheng just to lure him into her trap."

"Find Elizabeth! Dig three feet into the ground and drag her out for me!"

Long Aotian pondered repeatedly, still worried that he might make a wrong move and fail at the last hurdle.

General Liu was also worried that Elizabeth might have a hidden plan, and he deeply agreed with Long Aotian's order. He led more people to search for Elizabeth all over the mountains and fields.

Meanwhile, inside the Abyss Valley.

"How long has Andrei been gone?"

Ten days ago, a loud explosion was heard from the direction of Star City. At night, the firelight flickered and illuminated most of Sacramento. Ji Xiaoxiao was suspicious and uneasy. Considering Long Aotian's various actions, she acted cautiously and sent Andre out to investigate the specific information.

"Reporting to the Star Lord, Captain Andrei has been gone for five days."

Five days?

Andrei was the designated lieutenant general candidate, possessing both courage and wisdom, as well as both literary and military talents. The Abyss Valley wasn't far from Star City; a round trip at Andrei's full speed would only take about half a day. Why then did Andrei drag his feet for five days?

Ji Xiaoxiao took a deep breath, her heart filled with anxiety, and could only vent her anger on the giant beasts in the Abyss Valley.

Two more days passed in the blink of an eye.

"Lord Star, General Mu Sen has awakened."

Ji Xiaoxiao leaned against a big tree, closing her eyes to conserve her energy. Upon hearing the good news, Ji Xiaoxiao jumped up, so quickly and abruptly that she felt dizzy.

Shaking her head, Ji Xiaoxiao hurriedly asked, "Mu Sen is awake? What about Shui Miao?"

"General Shui Miao is still unconscious."

Ji Xiaoxiao waved her hand and, with a gust of wind in her feet, headed towards Mu Sen.

This period has been incredibly stressful. Now that Mu Sen is awake, he can finally share some of the burden.

"Mu Sen." Ji Xiaoxiao walked into the tent, where Mu Sen was being fed medicine weakly.

"Star Lord." Mu Sen made a move to get out of bed.

"Lie down properly." Ji Xiaoxiao said, stopping Mu Sen's movements. "It's so good that you woke up. It's good to have you to share my burdens."

Ignoring the fact that Mu Sen was still seriously injured, Ji Xiaoxiao told him everything about the strange things in Xingcheng, down to the smallest detail.

Upon hearing this, Mu Sen was speechless for a moment, his face solemn and as black as ink.

"Mother, I'm afraid Long Aotian has already attacked, and Xingcheng is already..." Everyone is smart enough to know what's going on.
