Chapter 350 The Heiress's Revenge (Part 23)

A cool breeze blew through the deep valley, making one shiver. {}.{lw}{xs520}.{}( )

General Liu rubbed his arms, his smile undiminished. Once he won over Elizabeth and Agnes, pleasing the Emperor and receiving a hefty reward, he could retire and return home. With the connections, power, and money he had accumulated, what more could he possibly want in this life?

"Faster, lighter!" General Liu urged impatiently.

The subordinates dared not resist and could only speed up the process.

Half an hour later, a small hole, about the size of a fist, was opened.

"Faster, faster!" General Liu urged.

At this moment, the soldiers of the Star River Empire became eager. They shared General Liu's plan: capture Elizabeth. They could forget about taking the credit for Agnes, but the bits of meat broth seeping from between General Liu's fingers would be enough to keep them happy for a while.

The temptation was there, and so was the motivation. In no time, the cave entrance was cleared, allowing two people to pass through.

General Liu looked up and saw the shoe prints on the ground inside the cave.

"It really is inside." A terrifying light flashed in General Liu's eyes.

"Beep beep beep... beep beep beep..."

Suddenly, a strange and terrifying dripping sound came from inside the cave.

"This is..." General Liu looked at Andrei, hoping he could give a reasonable explanation.

"We've been making a scene at the cave entrance for so long. If Elizabeth and the others still haven't found us, they should have just grabbed a rope, found a tree, and died long ago, so they wouldn't make a fool of themselves." Andrei crossed his arms, his face full of disdain. He was a dog with a mouth that couldn't produce anything decent.

Thinking about it, it made sense. They had been rummaging around at the cave entrance for quite some time, so it was perfectly normal for Elizabeth to discover them and prepare to evacuate. General Liu, realizing that the duck he was about to catch was about to fly away, was so anxious that his mouth was full of blisters, and he hurriedly urged his soldiers to speed up.

Andrei discreetly hid among the rubble, a cold smile playing on his lips.

"Faster, faster, so that you scum and degenerates can go to hell sooner."

They destroyed Star City, causing the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians. Now they want to take the life of their Star Lord? They're really dreaming.

Andrei was unsure if he could escape this calamity and return to report the current situation to Star Lord Sacryton. He had just patted his chest and assured that General Liu and the others would not be able to return alive.

The forest stretched endlessly, its canopies one after another, blocking out the sun and obscuring the ground. Ji Xiaoxiao and her group hid behind a large tree trunk, cautiously observing what lay ahead.

"Mother, Andrei is setting a trap for them." Mu Sen had sharp eyes and saw that Andrei had retreated to the pile of rocks, a perfect safe place where he could attack or defend at will. Even if the serpent army invaded, Andrei could hold them off for a while.

Ji Xiaoxiao also did not miss Andrei's actions, and her heart was slightly relieved.

"Shui Miao, you take the wounded and leave first. Go back to the place where you fought the mantis and wait for us," Ji Xiao said. The wounded risked their lives to stay behind, but they couldn't help them; instead, they would be a hindrance and would have to be taken care of.

Shui Miao knew Ji Xiaoxiao's plan and had no objections. She silently led the wounded away and sped back to their original location.

Ten minutes after Shui Miao retreated, General Liu's men finally moved all the fallen rocks.

"Everyone, get ready." General Liu stood tall and proud, full of vigor.

The soldiers of the Star River Empire were impatient. As soon as General Liu finished speaking, they were ready. Whether to charge or kill, they only needed General Liu's word.

"Three people in a row, ten people in a row..."

"General, something is leaking out." Someone interrupted General Liu's instructions.

General Liu looked up angrily and saw the milky white river surging unstoppably, the eerie dripping sound coming from it.

"Andrei." General Liu wanted to find someone knowledgeable to ask for clarification. "Andrei, Andrei." General Liu called out several times, but Andrei did not respond.

"Where is Andrei?" Liu asked, grabbing someone next to him.

"have no idea."

"Don't know? What are you good for, you piece of trash?" General Liu slapped the man across the face.

General Liu glanced at the milky-white river rushing towards him with overwhelming force, and a chill rose from the soles of his feet, instantly spreading throughout his entire body.

"Danger." Years of military experience told General Liu that the milky white river in front of him was extremely dangerous and that he needed to escape as soon as possible.

As soon as General Liu opened his mouth, the milky white river had already submerged the people in front of him.

"What's this?"

"Isn't that a river?"

"It looks like an insect, a long, thin insect."

“They…look at them…”

The Star River Emperor's people, submerged in the milky-white river, were swollen, like corpses floating in water, or like balloons inflating. Their bodies grew larger and rounder, and some of their delicate skin, unable to withstand the pressure, slowly cracked open, releasing milky-white blood that smeared across their entire bodies.

"Help me, help me, I don't want to die."

The words had barely left his lips when, with a bang, the speaker exploded. One followed another, and then a third; the victims submerged in the milky-white river exploded one after another. The deafening explosions were piercing, and raindrops of blood splattered onto the faces of those around them.

Silence, a deathly silence amidst the crowd.

He died, just like that, he died so cruelly.

"General, retreat! How could Elizabeth's men be cowards!"

Like a bolt from the blue, General Liu was utterly shocked. To rise to the rank of Major General amidst thousands of troops, Andrei must possess considerable skill and absolute loyalty; Elizabeth's keen insight would allow him to ascend to such a high position. It seemed they had fallen for Elizabeth's trap.
