The sky was a deep blue, with the clouds tinged with the black of gunpowder smoke.
Emerging from the Abyss Valley, Ji Xiaoxiao and her group hurried towards Star City without stopping. After traveling for a long time, they came upon a small human village. Smoke curled from chimneys, and voices were sparse, a stark contrast to the desolate scene of a snake's passage leaving nothing but barren land.
Ji Xiaoxiao was puzzled and sent someone to investigate.
"Nothing wrong?" Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't understand why the worm would stay in the abyss valley and live a life of hunger and cold, instead of venturing out into the world.
Something unusual must be going on!
The fact that the long serpent hasn't left the Abyss Valley might indicate a larger conspiracy brewing behind it, but for now, it's highly beneficial to Ji Xiaoxiao and her group. Ji Xiaoxiao's eyes turned cold. There's plenty of time; once she's eliminated that clown Long Aotian, the matter of the Abyss Valley must be settled.
Then, the lovely soldiers of Sacramento, looking distressed and against their conscience, secretly took a few pieces of clothing from the small village. Some were men's, some were women's, some were new, some were old, all ordinary clothes worn by common people.
"Don't look so miserable. In times of emergency, we should act quickly. Once we drive away the enemy, we can repay the villagers a hundredfold or a thousandfold." Seeing the group of men with miserable faces, Ji Xiaoxiao held the clothes, unsure whether to wear them or not.
After much persuasion, the group continued on their journey.
The soldiers who followed Ji Xiaoxiao into the Abyss Valley were courageous and resourceful, all elites from their respective units. They were agile and moved with incredible speed, making them difficult for men to detect. As for Ji Xiaoxiao, Mu Sen, and Shui Miao, well, let's not even go there; they are simply beyond words.
"Star Lord, once you cross this street, you'll reach your villa."
Street? Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't tell.
That pile of rubble, those steel bars everywhere, those severed limbs and corpses, or is it one of the most prosperous entertainment and food streets in Xingcheng?
“I understand.” Ji Xiaoxiao clenched her fist and said, “The Star Lord’s Villa is the official residence and office of Star Lord Sacramento. Long Aotian may have also sent a large number of troops to guard it and search for any information that may be obtained. The closer we get, the more careful we must be.”
Ji Xiaoxiao's prediction was correct, but she overestimated the importance Long Aotian placed on the Star Lord's villa. There were indeed people at the Star Lord's villa using instruments to examine and repair documents; aside from the researchers who were powerless, there were only about ten soldiers.
"Wait until it gets dark."
It's not good to act during the day; only the dark and windy night is the right time to kill.
Unaware that he was being targeted by a ferocious beast, a member of the Star River Empire, after a busy day, put down his work and was enjoying a good meal when suddenly a hand covered his mouth. A cold dagger, with a blade that could cut a hair in two, slashed him, blood spurted out, and he died.
With no enemies around, Ji Xiaoxiao and her team successfully rescued the important figure, Sacramento, from the safe room beneath the Star Lord's villa.
"Star Lord." The old ministers looked at Ji Xiaoxiao with a face full of guilt and embarrassment.
"I'll settle accounts with you later."
Ji Xiaoxiao turned to Huo Yan and said, "Thank you for your hard work, Huo Yan."
Huo Yan was being supported by his two older brothers, looking dejected and full of sorrow.
"No, Star Lord, it was me. I failed you, Star Lord, in your expectations of me, which led to the destruction of Star City and the occupation of Sacryton by Long Aotian. I deserve to die."
Huo Yan struggled, wanting to atone for his sins with his death.
Having received the original owner's memories and spent time with these people, Ji Xiaoxiao, while not knowing them inside and out, was well aware of their character and abilities. With the fall of Sacriton and the collapse of Star City, Ji Xiaoxiao refused to believe it was solely Huo Yan's responsibility.
"Now is not the time to talk about these things, Huo Yan. If you think all of this is your fault, then you should focus on recovering and stop acting like a child. Sooner or later, we will take back Sacramento." Ji Xiaoxiao was cultivating the White Lotus Holy Technique, and her five senses were highly acute. The sound of an airship flying half a mile away clearly reached her ears.
When Ji Xiaoxian became assertive, no one dared to confront her directly.
A group of exhausted people quickly fled the Star Lord's villa and, led by Ji Xiaoxiao, headed purposefully towards the mountains and seas on the outskirts of Star City.
"I have a starship hidden among millions of mountains and seas." Ji Xiaoxiao's precautions were, in retrospect, a wise move.
After entering the vast sea of mountains and crossing several towering peaks, amidst layers of fallen leaves, the group found a small starship in stealth mode.
Although small, the mini starship can carry up to a hundred people. Small as it may be, it is fully equipped. Not only is it well-equipped with ammunition and extremely fast, but its defensive capabilities are also comparable to those of a large starship. Trying to take down a mini starship would require several large bombs hitting it.
As soon as the small aircraft took off, enemy planes from the Star River Empire came from all directions, densely packed and everywhere you looked.
"Star Lord".
"Don't worry, do you think the starship I painstakingly hid is just an ordinary, unremarkable vessel? Does it have no redeeming qualities?"
Ji Xiaoxiao sat in the captain's seat in the center of the control room, clenched her fist, and tapped the left armrest of the seat. The armrest popped open, revealing a button. Ji Xiaoxiao pressed the button, and the starship disappeared from the spot with a whoosh.
"Spatial disintegration!" everyone exclaimed.
Spatial Disconnection is an evolved version of spatial jump. Using Spatial Disconnection, one can traverse millions of light-years in the blink of an eye and appear in an unfamiliar star field.
Space jumps are not uncommon in the interstellar world; even small starships can perform them. However, space disconnection was only developed in the last century. Although it has been used on starships, it has been limited to large starships. Medium and small starships cannot afford the energy required for space disconnection, nor can they withstand the hull damage it would cause.
But what do they see now?
Even small starships can now use space detachment—a revolutionary technology!
Everyone drooled and stared longingly at Ji Xiaoxiao, hoping that she would reward them with a small starship that looked exactly like hers.
