Chapter 413 From Underachiever to Top Student (Part 5)

The Xia family's finances were controlled by Xia Kui, so it was really a matter of course for Xia's mother to hire a repairman for on-site service.

"What are the conditions?"

Xia's mother had no choice but to accept Ji Xiaoxiao's coercion.

Ji Xiaoxiao leaned against the door and said lazily, "We're severing our mother-daughter relationship."

His casual tone conveyed a sense of unfamiliarity, as if they were strangers meeting for the first time.

Xia's mother stared wide-eyed, unable to close her mouth for a long time.

"Have you gone mad again?" Xia's mother asked.

Ji Xiaoxiao spread her hands, "Are you willing or not? If not, I'm going to eat breakfast."

Xia's mother glanced at the door of the washroom where the corpse lay, then at Ji Xiaoxiao. A mere girl was useless; severing ties was the end of it.

"Okay," Xia's mother replied.

Ji Xiaoxiao turned around and went back to her room. She spent some time personally preparing two letters of severance from her mother to her daughter.

"Sign and leave your fingerprints here."

Xia's mother did as instructed.

"Two copies, this is yours."

Ji Xiaoxiao put away her own letter of commitment, handed another copy to Xia's mother, and then Ma Buting began to busy himself with repairing the door.

As the sun rose high in the sky, Ji Xiaoxiao raised her hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead.

"Finally, it's all done."

Going downstairs, there wasn't a single dish of food in the kitchen or dining room.

Ji Xiaoxiao narrowed her eyes, a hint of scarlet flashing through the narrow slits.

That's really ruthless!

Thumbs up for you!

In the living room, a skit was playing on the television, and the Xia family's laughter filled the air.

Xia's mother sat on the stool, slightly turning her head to the side, a sincere, mocking smile on her face. "The food I cook isn't something just any Tom, Dick, or Harry can eat."

Ji Xiaoxiao didn't miss Xia's mother's gaze, and her face darkened even more.

"The door is fixed, so get out of here. You're not welcome in my house."

They've raised a complete ingrate.

Xia's mother thought that she had been good enough to her, providing her with food, clothing, and shelter, yet instead of being grateful, the girl turned on her. Even when they occasionally laid a hand on her, it wasn't for her own good; this brat was making a huge fuss, threatening to jump off a building.

She should have just jumped; death would have ended everything and saved her from further harming her family. But this girl went back on her word and didn't want to die anymore. She brought a teacher home, which attracted the police, resulting in the family's breadwinner being arrested.

Thinking of this, Xia's mother hated Ji Xiaoxiao to the core.

Ji Xiaoxiao raised an eyebrow, calmly turned her head, and began frantically searching for food.

Clang! Ji Xiaoxiao accidentally broke a plate.

Upon hearing this, Xia's mother rushed over. Seeing the broken porcelain shards on the ground, she cried out in despair, her heart breaking. That plate had cost her thirty yuan, which was very expensive.

"A money-losing product is a money-losing product."

The kitchen was Xia's mother's territory. She knew exactly where the boxes and cabinets were and what was in each one. She took a thick, long rolling pin from the kitchen doorway, aimed it at Ji Xiaoxiao, and viciously chopped it down from above her head.

"Mom, beat that little bitch to death!" Xia Cai cheered from the side.

Xia Qingqing let out a heavy sigh, "Mom, Xia Muran is black to the core. Don't hold back, beat him hard. He won't amount to anything if he's not beaten."

Xia's mother thought about it and realized that made sense; she had come from the same path. Look at her now, serving her husband and raising her children—everyone would give her a thumbs up.

There were precedents to follow, and now with her as a living example, Xia's mother acted with impunity.

Ji Xiaoxiao turned her head and body to the side, perfectly dodging Xia's mother's rolling pin.

"You really don't consider me human," Ji Xiaoxiao said coldly.

If you are unrighteous, why should I preach righteousness?

Ji Xiaoxiao stretched out her right hand, grabbed the handle of the iron pot, and flung it away.

With a loud crash, Xia's mother covered her face and wept bitterly.

After all, she was the original owner's mother, who gave birth to and raised the original owner. If Ji Xiaoxiao fought back as a last resort, it would be understandable. But if a real fight broke out, Ji Xiaoxiao could only retreat to the background.

Ji Xiaoxiao couldn't openly discipline Xia's mother and manipulate Xia Qingqing and Xia Cai, but as their older sister, Ji Xiaoxiao's actions were reasonable and justifiable.

"what are you up to?"

After finishing his questioning, Xia Cai sensed danger and turned tail to run. Recalling the torture he had endured the previous night, Xia Cai almost lost control of his bladder.

"Where are you going?" Xia Qingqing grabbed Xia Cai.

"Let me go, let me go." Xia Cai opened his mouth to grab Xia Qingqing's hand.

Xia Qingqing, unfazed, slapped Xia Cai's head hard with her other hand. With a thud, Xia Cai's eyes glazed over, his legs went weak, and he collapsed onto Xia Qingqing.

Xia Qingqing didn't care much, pushed Xia Cai away, and kicked him a few times as if venting her anger.

Ji Xiaoxiao stood to the side, watching intently. Xia Cai trembled and his hands and feet twitched, clearly having been slapped by Xia Qingqing and gotten into trouble.

I just watched without saying a word.

Xia Qingqing ran her hand through her hair and said, "Xia Muran, you're asking for it."

He's nothing but a worthless, lowly piece of trash.

"Mom, stop yelling! It sounds like you're slaughtering a pig! It's awful!" Xia Qingqing shouted. "Mom, let's surround her from both sides. I don't believe we can't deal with this little bitch."

Upon hearing this, Xia's mother immediately perked up, and the pain on her face inexplicably subsided somewhat.

Carefully placing the pot down, Xia's mother clutched her chest, heartbroken to see the dents it had caused. Glaring angrily at Ji Xiaoxiao, she gripped the rolling pin tightly, determined to teach the girl a lesson this time.

Xia Qingqing and her mother approached slowly, as if they were cats catching mice, displaying a serious and patient demeanor while also teasing and playing with them in a nonchalant manner.

The phoenix's rebirth from the ashes is the phoenix, because its predecessor was the phoenix. Xia Muran, at first glance, seems to have undergone a complete transformation, but in reality, he is nothing more than that cowardly, useless, and despicable person.
