Chapter 43 Overlord's Daydream Part 3

The peaceful rural village had never witnessed such a major event before—murder! This is terrible!

One by one, the simple-minded villagers rushed to Ji Xiaoxiao's house. Entering the courtyard, they saw the tall, burly Zhao Batian covering Ji Xiaoxiao's mouth with his hand. This scene, witnessed by the villagers, was undeniable evidence that Zhao Batian intended to kill her to silence her. To suffocate someone to death—this was utterly heartless.

As supporters arrived, Ji Xiaoxiao broke free from Zhao Batian's grasp and cried to the villagers, "Waaah, uncles and aunts, please help me! That beast Zhao Gou Dan sneaked over to find me while my mother was away, threatening to kill my whole family if I didn't give him all the money in the house. My poor father died young, and there's no man in the family. Today, I was bullied by Zhao Gou Dan."

Some kind old ladies held Ji Xiaoxiao and gently comforted her. Ji Xiaoxiao buried her head in their arms and cried loudly, as if she wanted to cry out all her grievances.

Men shouldn't interfere in women's affairs, so the older men turned their attention to the composed Zhao Batian.

Zhao Batian crossed his arms and smirked, "Zhong Xiaohua, words are no proof. You say I'm going to kill your whole family, produce the evidence."

"Of course I have evidence." Ji Xiaoxiao doesn't do things she's not sure of.

Ji Xiaoxiao looked around and, seeing that almost everyone had arrived, began to recount her story: "Back then, you came to my house to propose marriage, but my mother didn't approve. You were idle and didn't do anything productive, so my mother thought you weren't a good match for me and rejected you. To avoid putting my mother in a difficult position, I suggested breaking up with you, but then you lost your focus and fell off a cliff, unconscious. To save you and increase your will to live, I vowed to marry no one but you. After you woke up, I didn't change my mind; I even secretly took money from my mother to give you as a dowry to marry me. But how could you keep asking me for money? Do you know how badly my mother beat me for our sake?"
