“Brother John is very strong, An An has always known that, but An An can’t bear to see Brother John get hurt,” Anna Bella said.
John stopped, sighed, and cupped Annabella's face in his hands.
“Brother John, I…you…” Annabella’s cheeks were burning, she was flustered and her words were incoherent.
John kissed Annabella tenderly, then licked his lips, seemingly still wanting more.
“I’m not afraid, because I have Annabella by my side.” John lowered his head, his clear blue eyes, like the deep sea, reflecting Annabella’s figure with such deep and unwavering affection.
Annabella puffed out her chest. She was a water mage, possessing both healing and offensive powers. She would protect her brother John.
"Brother John."
"Little An'an".
Squeak, squeak, squeak... The squeaking of spiky rats suddenly rang out all around.
“Brother John, there’s a strange noise.” Annabella grabbed John’s collar, her heart pounding.
“Be careful, they’re spiky rats. One or two of these low-level magical beasts are nothing to worry about, but they always hunt in packs. If there are too many of them, even mid-level magical beasts will have to give way.” John drew a slender sword, ready to fight.
Annabella silently chanted a spell, ready to flood the seven armies at any moment.
A rustling sound emanated from the surrounding grass. The spiky rat sensed the power of John and Annabella and hesitated whether to attack.
"Anna, use a large-scale water spell, like a water tornado," John suggested to Annabella, hoping to scare away the spiked rats with a powerful attack.
Annabella obeyed without question, and a waterspout appeared out of nowhere, uprooting giant trees wherever it passed.
The spiky rat squeaked and tucked its tail between its legs, scurrying away.
John and his group breathed a sigh of relief. After all, this was the central part of the Monster Forest, where countless ferocious monsters lurked. It would be easy for them to wipe out the spiked rats, but they were afraid of alerting the big guys nearby. Those monsters were not as easy to deal with as the spiked rats.
Annabella was flushed, sweating, and panting after casting a mid-level spell.
"Let's sit down and rest."
"Okay, thank you, Brother John."
The two found a giant tree and sat down against its trunk. John took out food and water from his spatial ring for Annabella. Annabella was starving, but she still ate slowly, taking small bites, just to give John a good impression as a lady.
The Warcraft Forest is vast and boundless, yet the same forest has different climates.
Thirty meters directly in front of where John and his group were resting, a torrential downpour began.
Annabella looked in the direction of the sound and saw a cave.
“Brother John, look, it’s a cave. Do you think Arya might be hiding in there?” Annabella said, pointing to the cave.
John wholeheartedly agreed. Arya was poisoned and had already endured multiple attacks, so she was at her limit and couldn't run far. It was highly likely that she would hide in the cave ahead.
"Let's go take a look."
Annabella did not object and returned the remaining food and water to John, who then put them into his spatial ring.
Inside the cave, Ji Xiaoxiao suddenly opened her eyes.
"They've caught up."
Ji Xiaoxiao mobilized the little bit of spiritual power she had painstakingly accumulated throughout the night to activate the formation.
"Let me see whether your magic and battle aura are more powerful, or whether my orthodox Xuanmen sect is superior."
Ji Xiaoxiao closed her eyes and began cultivating the Dao Heaven technique even faster. The situation was urgent, and she could no longer proceed step by step or accumulate strength for a later breakthrough.
As John and Annabella approached the cave, they felt an increasingly distinct and strange power.
“Brother John, this place is very strange.” Annabella’s smiling face was full of seriousness. Her hand was holding a staff, the top of which was inlaid with the magic core of a high-level water-type magical beast, shining brightly, holy and noble.
John couldn't stand Annabella looking like this; he wanted nothing more than to tear her off...
John shook his head, dismissing the unnecessary thoughts. Although Aria was seriously injured, as a fire mage and great swordswoman from Atlantis, her strength was still not to be underestimated. Caution was the best policy, and being cautious was never a mistake.
As the two entered the maze set up by Ji Xiaoxiao, the world seemed to tremble, and the two swayed, almost falling to the ground.
A misty fog obscured the view. A faint, pleasant fragrance soothed the soul, extinguishing any threatening aura.
Whoosh, a sound of something cutting through the air pierced the sky.
Clang! John's arm went numb.
"What the hell is this?" John exclaimed in astonishment.
