The towering trees blocked out the sun, their dense leaves rustling softly, while birds and beasts murmured and sang, filling the air with a somber, natural atmosphere. Two large men, hidden among the branches, gazed intently into the distance, occasionally glancing sideways and whispering amongst themselves.
"Go ahead and hit me, it's not like you haven't been hit before." The Demon Lord looked indifferent. As the saying goes, everyone sweeps the snow from their own doorstep and doesn't care about the frost on other people's roofs. The essence of being indifferent to other people's business is the truth that has stood the test of time for thousands of years.
Ying Cheng held up three fingers, looking at the utterly heartless Demon Lord with tears streaming down his face, "Demon Lord, it's three legs, three legs! This is going to kill me!"
The Demon Lord casually waved his hand, "Alright, alright, if your precious three legs are really broken, I'll give you a bottle of Bone-Regenerating Pills, that should be enough!"
"I've never seen a man as petty and calculating as you. You're so fussy and incessant. I really regret bringing you out to broaden your horizons." The Demon Lord didn't even glance at Ying Cheng, his muttered words sealing his fate.
"Demon Lord, are you sure the Bone-Regenerating Pill really works for the third leg?" Ying Cheng sobbed, his joy mixed with deep sorrow.
Like master, like servant. If the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam will be crooked too; if the middle beam is crooked, everything will collapse.
"I guarantee it will work." The Demon Lord stared intently at the two women fighting bare-handed on the arena, a smile naturally creeping onto his lips.
"Better safe than sorry. Lord Demon Lord, you can't abandon me, I'm one of yours!" Lord Demon Lord's credibility in Ying Cheng's heart was below zero.
"Ugh, how can you be so annoying? If you really can't take it anymore, I'll go to the trouble of helping you myself, okay?" The Demon Lord turned his head and glared fiercely at Ying Cheng. "If you keep making noise, I won't take you out to play anymore."
Strike at the snake's vital spot; the Demon Lord's army pressed in, crushing the pitiful young man Ying Cheng with overwhelming force.
"I won't say anything." Ying Cheng covered his mouth with both hands and whispered to the Demon Lord his excellent choice.
The Demon Lord patted Ying Cheng's fluffy head with a pleased expression, "Be a good boy and I'll take you out more often. Now, open your dog eyes wide and take a good look at the women on the arena, because one of them might be your future mistress."
The Demon Lord and Ying Cheng were spouting unrealistic nonsense, while Ji Xiaoxiao and Huang Yanheng were locked in a fierce battle that darkened the sky and obscured the sun and moon.
Ji Xiaoxiao threw a punch straight at Huang Yanheng's face. Huang Yanheng neither blocked nor dodged, taking the blow head-on. She quickly raised her right leg, and her hard knee slammed into Ji Xiaoxiao's abdomen. The blow was a double-edged sword; both Ji Xiaoxiao and Huang Yanheng staggered back several steps before finally regaining their footing.
Ji Xiaoxiao casually wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, her movements clean and efficient. "Huang Yanheng, I have to admit I admire your close-combat skills. However, the final victor will definitely be me, Su Mali."
"Su Mali, don't speak too confidently, otherwise when the outcome is revealed, there will be no way to back down, and I'll see how you handle that." Huang Yanheng lowered her hands, her five fingers forming claws, with a faint red spiritual energy gathering in her palms.
"Those who speak too confidently are those who lack ability but have unrealistic ambitions. I, Su Mali, mean what I say." There's no reason to boost others' morale while diminishing one's own. Ji Xiaoxiao didn't think she was exaggerating or overestimating herself at all.
"Both sides have their own reasons, let's settle this with a fight!"
As Huang Yanheng's voice faded, Ji Xiaoxiao leaped into the air, her fist, the size of a clay pot, swirling with spiritual energy. Huang Yanheng, with her exceptional knowledge, swiftly and sharply rolled away, narrowly missing Ji Xiaoxiao's fist, leaving a dent in its place.
"Thanks to my past life as a shut-in, I watched a lot of anime and was able to put my knowledge to good use!" Ji Xiaoxiao said with tears in her eyes.
Unlike Ji Xiaoxiao, Huang Yanheng was filled with the shock of surviving a close call. If that punch had landed on her, she might have been left with a gaping wound. After a few breaths, Huang Yanheng calmed her agitated heart.
There's no time to hide anything anymore; nobody knows if Ji Xiaoxiao has an even more powerful trump card. Strike first, or suffer the consequences; Huang Yanheng decided to defeat Ji Xiaoxiao quickly, leaving her no chance to retaliate.
While dodging Ji Xiaoxiao's attacks, Huang Yanheng secretly did something under her. The red spiritual energy in her palms grew increasingly vibrant, and as Huang Yanheng's fingers contracted, the spiritual energy was compressed, becoming smaller and denser. When her claws formed fists and opened again, the red spiritual energy transformed into two small beads.
Huang Yanheng pinched the two red beads between two fingers, and with a little more force, the beads cracked with a snap. She couldn't help but secretly rejoice, saying, "Su Mali, although the sect competition advocates stopping when you've made a move, accidents are always unavoidable. Whether you live or die depends on your luck."
After Huang Yanheng threw the bead to the ground, she bit the tip of her index finger and quickly traced it back and forth in the air. When she succeeded in the last stroke, Huang Yanheng was pale and weak, but she still exerted all her strength to strike the blood talisman at Ji Xiaoxiao with a palm.
The blood talisman had no physical form and ignored all array defenses, so Ji Xiaoxiao was tragically struck by it. The talisman hit its target directly, and a surge of red energy rushed towards Ji Xiaoxiao. Within the red energy, crackling sounds, like thunder, filled the air. Even though Ji Xiaoxiao had witnessed this move in the original owner's memories, she still felt a chill run down her spine upon close contact.
"Water resides below, wood generates fire, the Vermilion Bird perishes, Chongli descends, bloodshed and fire erupt, gods and Buddhas are slain." Huang Yanheng moved to the Li trigram according to the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams. The red aura surrounding Ji Xiaoxiao suddenly contracted inward, remaining still for a moment before a red mushroom cloud exploded. The extremely strong jade arena collapsed with a loud crash, sending shards of varying sizes raining down from the sky. The disciples below the arena dodged and weaved, utterly disheveled.
