Chapter 265 The Empress Falls in Love with the Crown Prince (Part 8)

The Free and Unfettered Sect is an ancient sect with a history of thousands of years, possessing profound cultural heritage that is beyond the reach of most small sects.

Even though the rising star Lingran Palace has achieved remarkable success and has a large number of members, making it the only openly recognized martial arts force in the Northwest, it is nothing more than an insignificant ant in the face of a behemoth.

After a long and arduous journey, Luo Qingshuang discovered a bizarre and wondrous mountain peak amidst the hundreds of miles of snow-covered, frigid mountains. The peak towered majestically, reaching into the clouds. Looking up, she saw a massive waterfall, seemingly cascading from the heavens, its roar never ceasing. Beside the waterfall stretched an endless expanse of verdant green. In this land of white snow and ice, the lush greenery and verdant grass were so striking, so outstanding, so captivating. Scattered throughout were pavilions and towers, magnificent palaces with the gentle chime of bells.

What a beautiful, celestial scene! It's something you can only see in heaven, a sight rarely found on earth!

Luo Qingshuang walked to the foot of the mountain. The towering mountain gate was awe-inspiring, and she could not take another step.

"Palace Mistress Luo Qingshuang of Lingran Palace requests an audience with Senior Xiaoyaozi. Please inform him."

Luo Qingshuang knelt obsequiously in the snow, displaying utter flattery.

"Please wait." The gatekeeper boy, with his chubby feet, ran off in a flash.

The mountain peak was warm as spring, while at its foot, a cold wind howled and heavy snow fell continuously. Before long, only Luo Qingshuang's head was visible above the white snow.

"Palace Master Luo, please come with me."

Luo Qingshuang slowly stood up, the cracking sound of her bones clear and pleasant.

After climbing a thousand steps to the heavens, passing through a white jade gate, and walking along a secluded path, the journey was enchanting and confusing. The little boy and Luo Qingshuang stopped in front of a bamboo house.

"Grandmaster, Palace Master Luo has arrived." The young boy bowed respectfully, his expression serene.

"You may leave now. Grandmaster has something to say to Palace Master Luo alone."

The voice emanating from the bamboo house was weathered and possessed a uniquely masculine magnetism. It was weak yet clear, reaching the ears of the young boy and Luo Qingshuang, both of whom concluded that this person was extraordinary.

The young boy, unfazed, replied "Yes," and turned to leave without hesitation.

"Come in!"

Luo Qingshuang took a deep breath, hesitated for a long time before finally landing steadily.

"Creak." The bamboo door was pushed open by Luo Qingshuang.

"Senior Xiaoyaozi, I have come here today with a request."

Luo Qingshuang knelt on the ground, her face pressed against the earth, not daring to look directly at the old man in front of her.

The old man sat cross-legged on the bamboo bed directly opposite the bamboo door. His white hair was whiter than snow, his clear eyes were bright and his face was kind and gentle. At first glance, he looked just like a respected old grandfather in an ordinary family.

The renowned Xiaoyaozi is not some ordinary old man!

Recalling what happened when she turned fifteen and came of age, Luo Qingshuang swallowed hard, her heart pounding rapidly, the thumping sound deafening, shaking her mental defenses.

"Raise your head and let me see you," Xiaoyaozi said calmly.

Luo Qingshuang moved in response to the sound, and saw that Xiaoyaozi had a handsome figure with a straight back and slender hands on his crossed legs. Perhaps Xiaoyaozi was cultivating supernatural powers, as his whole body was glowing with a faint light, and a faint white mist rose from the top of his head and disappeared into the sky.

At this moment, Xiaoyaozi was mysterious, powerful, and inviolable. The wicked and domineering Luo Qingshuang couldn't muster the slightest thought of resistance and obediently submitted to his lowly ways.

"Yes, you're getting more and more handsome. It's worth all the time I've wasted on you."

Xiaoyaozi nodded almost imperceptibly, which was considered as satisfaction with Luo Qingshuang's appearance.

A bead of sweat slid down her forehead and temple. Luo Qingshuang said respectfully, "I am deeply grateful for all my recent achievements and accomplishments, thanks to Senior Xiaoyaozi."

"Grateful beyond measure? Luo Qingshuang, I doubt you possess such noble sentiments. Ten years ago, you sold yourself into my Xiaoyao Sect, learned the first volume of 'Frosty Hegemony,' and then betrayed us, even stealing seven of my junior brother Xiao Xianzi's servants. Five years ago, you offered to apologize and traded the second volume of 'Frosty Hegemony' with me. Ten days later, having obtained the goods, you left overnight without a word of farewell, chilling my heart. Luo Qingshuang, considering everything that has happened, have you treated the Xiaoyao Sect like a pawnshop?"

“Senior Xiaoyaozi, this junior would never dare to do so.”

That was the truth, and Luo Qingshuang had no way to refute it. Besides, trying to play tricks in front of a peerless martial arts master was tantamount to digging one's own grave—courting death.

Xiaoyaozi broke out of his meditative state and slowly exhaled a breath of turbid air.

"Old matters should not be brought up again."

A prime minister's belly can hold a boat; Lord Xiaoyaozi is truly magnanimous!

Luo Qingshuang's face lit up with joy, and she couldn't stop smiling.

"Thank goodness, thank goodness," Luo Qingshuang thought to herself, overjoyed.

"Speak, what brings you here today?" Xiaoyaozi asked.

Luo Qingshuang spoke frankly, "My guards are seriously injured and need the Heavenly Snow Flame Lotus."

"Heavenly Snow Flame Lotus." Xiaoyaozi murmured a few times, then said, "The Heavenly Snow Flame Lotus is a rare treasure of this world, and even our Xiaoyao Sect only has half of it left. Luo Qingshuang, you want the Heavenly Snow Flame Lotus in my possession, so what do you intend to give me in return?"

Luo Qingshuang puffed out her chest and said, "Myself."

Xiaoyaozi suddenly burst into laughter, "Good, good, good. You were qualified to enter the sect yourself, you made the deal five years ago, and you are still yourself now. As the dignified master of a palace, Luo Qingshuang, you are far more despicable than those lowly people."

"Senior Xiaoyaozi, does that mean you agree?"

"Spend ten days with me, and I'll give you the Heavenly Snow Flame Lotus."

"No, ten days is too long. Hong'er won't last that long." Hong'er's injuries were too serious to wait, so Luo Qingshuang refused Xiaoyaozi without hesitation.
