Ji Xiaoxiao revealed her true identity to the world, but her motives were impure. She mainly wanted to enjoy the dazzling, worshipful gazes of ordinary people. Wahaha, I am the only immortal in the Ling Shan Continent. Come and kneel down and lick this fairy's toes!
Unfortunately, things didn't go as Ji Xiaoxiao had imagined. They didn't react as Ji Xiaoxiao had expected—their souls seemed to leave their bodies, they were dumbfounded, incredulous, and a little bit fanatical and gloating.
"This woman is actually Xian Bifeng."
The main party involved in the incident, Liu Ruoshui, felt her body stiffen, her body turn ice-cold, and her soul felt like it was about to break. How could this be? How could this be? Didn't Xian Bifeng ascend to the Immortal Realm? How could this woman be Xian Bifeng? A liar! She's a big liar who deceives heaven and earth.
Even so, Liu Ruoshui didn't dare utter a single word.
Better safe than sorry; it's always good to be cautious.
"Why isn't there any reaction? Was my entrance not impressive enough?"
Ji Xiaoxiao frowned in displeasure, intending to do something. Upon hearing the news, the original owner's disciple rushed over and, without saying a word, dragged her to the main peak of the Immortal Rhyme Sect—Yuxiu Peak.
The main hall of Yuxiu Peak.
The elders from each peak, who had been in seclusion for years, all emerged from their retreats, hurriedly tidying their appearance before standing orderly on both sides of the main hall, their eyes filled with envy as they gazed at the entrance.
"They're here! They're here!" someone exclaimed.
Not far away, two men around fifty years old stood respectfully and cautiously on either side of Ji Xiaoxiao, for fear of disturbing their ancestors.
"It's the sect leader, it really is the sect leader."
"It's Senior Sister, she's back."
"It's my senior sister. She hasn't changed at all. She's still the most beautiful woman in Ling Shan Continent."
Opinions varied, and the terms of address changed repeatedly.
Ji Xiaoxiao stopped outside the council hall and just as she stepped inside, a deafening chorus of kowtows erupted: "Welcome, Immortal!"
Ji Xiaoxiao was slightly shocked, and said, "Get up."
With a wave of her hand, Ji Xiaoxiao took the seat of honor.
The others followed a step behind. Li Yushi and Liu Ruoshui, who arrived late, stood awkwardly in the main hall before finally walking to their empty seats and sitting down.
Ji Xiaoxiao gave them a cold look, deciding to deal with them later.
"Master, why did you return from the Immortal Realm?" Duanmu, the original owner's second disciple, asked with concern. His master had clearly ascended to the Immortal Realm, but his sudden return to the Ling Shan Continent was a matter of deep thought. Duanmu, the third disciple, was very worried about Ji Xiaoxiao.
Ji Xiaoxiao gave a perfunctory answer and asked, puzzled, "Duanmu, where is your senior brother?"
The original owner had three disciples, all of whom were her direct disciples, and their bond was comparable to that of a mother and son in an ordinary relationship. Ji Xiaoxiao saw the second disciple, Duanmu, and the third disciple, Xuanyuan, but the eldest disciple, Murong, whom she admired and revered the original owner the most, was nowhere to be seen.
The moment the words left his mouth, the entire hall fell silent. Liu Ruoshui, in particular, trembled, her face pale, utterly terrified, displaying the guilty conscience of someone caught doing something wrong.
There's something fishy going on!
Ji Xiaoxiao said sternly, "Duanmu."
Duanmu stood up, lowered his head, and said in a deep voice, "Master, you should ask Li Yushi and Liu Ruoshui about this matter yourself, as well as their precious son Li Zhengfang."
Li Yushi was Duanmu's elder, yet Duanmu addressed him by his given name, indicating that Duanmu was quite angry.
Ji Xiaoxiao sensed the sorrow and resentment in Duanmu's words. She glanced at him subtly and noticed that Duanmu's eyes, which were red and swollen, seemed to be swollen with tears.
A chill ran through Ji Xiaoxiao's heart; she had a bad feeling.
"Li Yushi, do you have anything to say?"
Ji Xiaoxiao's face was dark and gloomy. She still had the leisure to ask questions. She didn't kill Li Yushi and Liu Ruoshui in one move, but only wanted to find out the truth.
Li Yushi slowly got up, then knelt down again.
"Immortal, it is my fault for failing to discipline him properly. All the blame lies with me alone. I, Li Yushi, beg you not to implicate others," Li Yushi said solemnly.
Ji Xiaoxiao remained silent, turning her gaze to Liu Ruoshui with an ambiguous expression. Liu Ruoshui felt Ji Xiaoxiao's sharp, knife-like gaze and was so frightened that she dared not breathe, shrinking her neck and curling into a ball, feeling wronged and aggrieved.
"She is an immortal, she really is an immortal." With just one glance, she, who was at the Integration Stage, surrendered without even a thought of resistance.
Ji Xiaoxiao said softly, "Liu Ruoshui, tell me about it."
Liu Ruoshui was so shocked when Ji Xiaoxiao called her name that she trembled all over.
"Immortal, I...I..."
So frightened, Liu Ruoshui could barely speak coherently.
"What? Weren't you so audacious and arrogant before, brandishing the Elder's Decree and threatening to use the entire power of the Immortal Rhyme Sect to kill me, Xian Bifeng? How long has it been? Who scared you so much?"
Ji Xiaoxiao gave a light snort, the sarcasm of which was hard to ignore. Everyone present kept their eyes downcast and remained silent. Only the original owner's two disciples, with their parents back, were full of confidence and parroted her words with great skill.
"Do you not know? Or are you unwilling to say?" Ji Xiaoxiao asked.
Liu Ruoshui lowered her head, adhering to the principle that silence is golden.
Ji Xiaoxiao shook her head. "Since that's the case, Duanmu, didn't you mention Li Zhengfang before? Send someone to invite Li Zhengfang over."
Just as Duanmu clasped his hands in a fist salute, ready to accept, Liu Ruoshui suddenly knelt on the ground with a thud, exclaiming in horror, "Immortal, I beg you not to touch Zhengfang! He is still unconscious and needs to rest and recuperate. He should not be moved around easily."
"Then are you willing to tell me?"
Strike the snake at its vital point; Liu Ruoshui truly loved her child.
“Say it, I’m willing to say it, I’m willing to say it,” Liu Ruoshui said happily.
"Let's begin!"
Liu Ruoshui opened her mouth, organized her thoughts for a moment, and then began to speak slowly and deliberately, word by word.
