Chapter 50. Little Boy

Chapter 50. Little Boy

"I'm going to take a shower first. I've sweated a lot." Ruan Tang immediately pushed him away, jumped up from the sofa, and slipped into the bathroom. She turned on the shower and held up her phone to send a WeChat message to Xu Wei.

"On the first night of living together, I accidentally asked him if he liked children. How should I explain that I really didn't hint at him getting married and having children?"

Xu Wei changed her intellectual and rational attitude when responding to submissions online, and sent a series of three and a half lines, jokingly saying: To be honest, I have been thinking about how much red envelope to give for my child's full moon party.

Ruan Tang almost spat out a mouthful of blood on the phone screen. Resisting the urge to throw the phone directly into the toilet, she turned around, took off her clothes, and threw herself into the mist.

The next day, Ruan Tang sent the diamond necklace to the pawn shop early in the morning. Xu Wei suddenly called and said that she was going to have a physical examination and asked if she would like to accompany her.

The first thing Ruan Tang asked when she saw Xu Wei was: Are you planning to resume updating but you don’t have any material to write?

"Oh, why do you think like that? I just care about your happiness." Xu Wei had to be on an empty stomach for the physical examination, so she looked at the convenience store rice ball in Ruan Tang's hand and swallowed her saliva.

Ruan Tang took a bite of the rice ball, sneered at her concern, and said: I can guess your title, the Queen of the Sea falls ashore and becomes a primary school kid in seconds when she falls in love.

Xu Wei had an exaggerated expression. She stretched out a hand to press down her lips that were still moving due to chewing and said: Baby, you are really dizzy. How can you say that you are a prostitute?

It was almost noon when the physical examination was over. Seeing that Xu Wei was pale with hunger, Ruan Tang simply asked her to wait in the hospital lobby while she went to buy her some food.

Ruan Tang walked back with the oden and soy milk she bought from the convenience store while sending a voice message to Feng Xue to tell him that she was accompanying Xu Wei for a physical examination and would be back to the store later.

Before she could finish her words, she saw several medical staff getting out of the ambulance, pushing a mobile bed and rushing to the emergency department while shouting "Make way", but a little boy in a denim shirt was walking in the middle of the road as usual, with no intention of hiding aside.

Ruan Tang didn't think much about it. She rushed forward with her phone in hand, pulled the little boy aside and held him in her arms. The group of medical staff just passed by her from behind.

"Little boy, be careful when walking and listen to what people say. Where are your parents?" Ruan Tang hugged the little boy's soft body, helped him stand steadily, and looked around.

The little boy suddenly pushed her away and started screaming and crying, his voice seemed to tear her eardrums. He staggered forward and hit his head hard with both hands. From a distance, he looked like a rattle swinging wildly out of control.

Ruan Tang realized that the little boy seemed different from ordinary children, so she quickly pulled the nurse over and asked: Where are the family members of this child?

"Congcong!"

The nurse was about to turn around and find someone to help when suddenly a woman brushed past them, rushed to the little boy and held him in her arms. Regardless of his crying and kicking, she held him tightly and patted his back gently. She looked quite skilled and soon the little boy finally calmed down.

Xu Wei came over at some point, patted Ruan Tang on the shoulder and asked her what was wrong.

Ruan Tang asked: Do you know her?

Xu Wei sighed and nodded: She is a fan friend of my official account, we sometimes chat. Just now she recognized me and chatted with me for a few words.

While sighing, Ruan Tang suddenly felt that the canvas bag on her side looked a little familiar, so she stretched her neck to take a closer look.

She had long black hair that fell past her shoulders and was tied into a casual low ponytail at the back of her head. She looked thin, but her back was abruptly thick. I guess her uneven body shape was caused by often carrying children.

The nurse came forward to explain, pointed at Ruan Tang and told her that it was this lady who helped your child just now. There are many people in the hospital and she needs to keep an eye on the child.

The woman picked up the little boy and walked over, nodded to Ruan Tang and said: Thank you, I'm sorry to bother you.

Then she looked at Xu Wei and asked: Teacher Xu, is this your friend?

Ruan Tang looked at her face carefully and was stunned.

There was no way she could have made a mistake. Those round almond-shaped eyes that should have been full of tenderness, instead revealed coldness and stubbornness. She would never forget them after seeing them once.

"Ruan Tang?" Xu Wei pushed her arm, and she came back to her senses.

The woman he called "Huanhuan" was looking at her at this moment, forcing a faint smile on her face. She looked like a pearl polished by time, full of scratches and without its original luster.

It seemed that she did not recognize herself.

"Oh," she quickly organized her thoughts, forced a smile and said: It's okay, he...how old is he?

"He's not even five years old yet. He's a little special. Did he scare you?" Huanhuan spoke softly, as if afraid of scaring the child again, while patting his back gently.

"It's okay, as long as he's okay." Ruan Tang waved his hand absentmindedly, turned his head to look at Xu Wei, and said: I still have things to do, so I'll go back first?

Xu Wei seemed to notice that something was wrong with her, so she took the convenience store plastic bag from her and said: Let me go to your place and sit with you.

When she separated from Huanhuan, Ruan Tang took advantage of her conversation with Xu Wei to secretly take a picture of the little boy with her mobile phone. On the way back, she kept looking at the phone.

The little boy was very handsome, especially his big eyes, which looked very much like his mother. She kept enlarging the photo, trying to find the similarities with Feng Xue in her mind.

"What's wrong?" Xu Wei, who was sitting next to her, finished her soy milk and saw that she was still frowning, so she asked, "Aren't you afraid of motion sickness?"

Ruan Tang put down her phone, moved closer to Xu Wei, and asked: Hey, did your fan sister just now tell you about her experience?

"What are you doing?" Xu Wei was silent for a moment and said: This is someone's privacy. It's not good for me to discuss it with you.

"Aren't you using my privacy as material?" Ruan Tang was anxious and shook her wrist. "Just tell me, she really looks like someone I know."

"You know him?" Xu Wei looked puzzled. "Then you didn't..."

"I know her, but she doesn't know me. Tell me quickly, just pick out the key points."

Xu Wei raised her eyes and glanced at the driver, who was wearing white gloves and looked straight ahead, as if there was no sign of them in the car at all. She pursed her lips and whispered: It's just...something happened to her husband in the early stages of her pregnancy. She didn't even know she was pregnant at that time. The other party seemed to want to leave her some property so he filed for divorce. As a result, she was traumatized and suffered a lot of mental stress. Later, she had a difficult delivery and the child suffered brain damage due to lack of oxygen. She was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome when she was about one year old.

"Asperger's?"

“It’s autism.”

Everything seemed to fit.

Ruan Tang felt her hands go weak. She tried to grab her phone, but it slipped from her hands and fell onto the seat. A chill came from all directions, penetrating every pore of her body. She managed to calm down and sighed softly: "Why am I a little cold..."

Xu Wei sat up straight, looked forward, and asked the driver: Master, can you turn down the air conditioning a little?

The driver glanced back through the rearview mirror and said kindly, "Ma'am, the air conditioning isn't on. Are you feeling unwell? Do you need some water? There's some next to the seat."

Xu Wei took the bottle of mineral water from her side, unscrewed it and handed it to her. Seeing Ruan Tang's pale face, she asked with a worried tone: "What's wrong? Who is she to you?"
