Chapter 304 You tell me to get out, so I’ll get out? Sorry, I’m not that obedient!

At this moment, a rabbit suddenly jumped out of the grass, its ruby-like eyes looking around. Lan Xiyue was quick-eyed and quick-handed. A silver needle flew between her fingers, like a meteor across the night sky, and instantly pierced the rabbit's vitals. It fell limply to the ground, no longer having any chance of life.

Lan Xiyue walked forward slowly, picked up the rabbit, and smiled: "Look, the food is delivered to your door."

Seeing this, Niuniu's eyes lit up, and she clapped her hands and laughed, "Sister is so amazing!"

She walked to a small puddle nearby and processed the rabbit, removing the fur and internal organs, leaving only the freshest and tenderest parts.

Afterwards, the two returned to the cave, Lan Xiyue made a fire and started roasting rabbit meat.

Niu Niu stared at the roasted rabbit meat in Lan Xiyue's hands, her eyes wide open and she swallowed her saliva from time to time.

Seeing this, Lan Xiyue reached out and gently touched her head, "Don't be impatient, it will take a while before it's cooked."

Niu Niu lowered her head embarrassedly and nodded.

Finally, the rabbit meat was roasted to a golden and crispy texture, and the aroma was everywhere.

Lan Xiyue pulled off a rabbit leg and handed it to Niu Niu.

Niu Niu took the barbecue, thanked repeatedly, and then couldn't wait to eat it.

The two of them ate up all the rabbit meat. Niuniu burped loudly and said contentedly, "Sister, Niuniu is so full."

Lan Xiyue raised her eyebrows and chuckled, then nodded: "After we're full, we can find a way back. Let's go."

Niu Niu nodded obediently, and Lan Xiyue picked up the plantain that she had picked and tied before, and held Niu Niu's hand tightly with her other hand. The two of them continued to move forward in the overgrown wilderness, one in front and the other behind.

After walking for three days and three nights, they finally walked out of the bottom of the cliff.

Lan Xiyue stopped and said, "Niuniu, do you know where this is? How far is it from your home?"

Niuniu held Lan Xiyue's hand tightly. Niuniu looked around, only to see overgrown weeds and winding paths. There was no trace of the familiar scenery. Her eyes were filled with confusion and uneasiness. "Sister, I don't recognize this place."

"Ah? Where do you live then?"

Niuniu looked up, her eyes flashing with longing for home: "Sister, my home is in Zitong Village."

Zitong Village? Lan Xiyue muttered the name to herself. She had never heard of it before. She frowned and thought to herself: This place is rarely visited. I should find someone first and then ask around. So, she took Niuniu's hand and continued walking along the path.

Two hours later, they were already exhausted and their mouths were dry.

Just then, a house appeared in the distance ahead, and Lan Xiyue's eyes suddenly lit up. "Niuniu, look! There's a house ahead. Let's go ask for directions."

The two quickened their pace, arriving at the slightly worn wooden door. Lan Xiyue knocked gently, but all she received was silence. After a moment, a subtle movement was heard from within, and then the door slowly opened, revealing a wary face.

"What?" The man's voice was rough and cold, causing Lan Xiyue to frown.

What made her even more suspicious was that she could faintly smell the faint smell of blood. "Brother, we are lost. Where is this place? Which way should we go to Zitong Village?"

Hearing this, the man waved his hand impatiently and said, "I don't know." Then he prepared to close the door.

Seeing this, Lan Xiyue quickly reached out to stop him: "Brother, we are a little tired from walking. Can you let us go in and rest for a while?"

The man just replied coldly: "It's inconvenient!" Then he closed the door forcefully.

Lan Xiyue outside the door looked around helplessly, only to see mountains surrounding her and no one living there. She couldn't help but feel an inexplicable anxiety in her heart.

She took a deep breath and whispered to the system: "System, do you know the direction of the capital?"

The system was silent for a moment, then replied, "Host, you should just keep going forward. Look, even if you go the wrong way, you can still see a house here. If you keep going forward, you'll definitely see others."

Lan Xiyue took Niuniu and walked to a large, protruding rock beside the road and sat down.

She took out two wild fruits from her sleeve and handed them to Niuniu beside her.

I picked this on the road two days ago and put it in the space, thinking that if I get tired and hungry on the road, it can fill my stomach.

Niuniu stared at Lan Xiyue's sleeves with eyes wide open, her eyes flashing with surprise: "Sister, sleeves can really hold fruit!"

Lan Xiyue chuckled, picked up a fruit, took a bite, and the juice overflowed, making her mouth water.

A whimpering sound came from the opposite room, making Lan Xiyue frown.

She looked at the tightly closed door opposite and frowned. Lan Xiyue quickly finished the wild fruit in her hand and turned to look at Niuniu. "Niuniu, be good. Don't run around. Wait for me here."

A trace of fear flashed in Niuniu's eyes, and her little hands tightly grasped the corner of Lan Xiyue's clothes: "Sister, don't leave Niuniu."

Lan Xiyue gently patted Niuniu's forehead and comforted her softly: "Sister won't abandon Niuniu. Sister is just going in to see what's going on inside. You just wait here for me obediently, okay?"

When Niu Niu heard this, although she was still nervous, she nodded obediently: "Niu Niu, wait for your sister to come back, be careful." She vaguely felt that the uncle she had just met had a fierce look in his eyes, which was scary.

Lan Xiyue stood up, walked over, and with a light jump she climbed over the low earthen fence.

She approached the house and put her ear to the window frame, and heard a woman's low sobbing from inside.

Lan Xiyue gently rubbed a hole in the fragile window paper with her fingers.

Through the hole, she saw the scene inside the house: two disheveled women were tied to the ground, their bodies covered with scars. Their mouths were tightly blocked with cloth strips, and they could only make low whimpering sounds, their eyes full of fear and helplessness.

The man was sitting leisurely opposite them, holding a whip in his hand, whipping them from time to time with a look of pleasure on his face.

Lan Xiyue walked to the mottled wooden door, and suddenly, she raised her right leg with such great force that the wooden door made a dull loud noise, and then was kicked to the ground.

The man stared at the uninvited guest fiercely with his eyes like knives, "Get out!"

Lan Xiyue's gaze passed him and fell on the two women huddled on the ground. Their clothes were disheveled, their hair was messy, and their eyes were filled with fear and pleading. They seemed to have seen the last glimmer of hope in their lives, and that look pierced Lan Xiyue's heart.

"Why did you treat these two innocent women like this?"

The man sneered, a cruel arc appearing on his lips: "Them? Humph, they deserve it! You, get out of here right now!"

Lan Xiyue frowned slightly upon hearing this, then a faint smile appeared on the corner of her mouth: "You tell me to get out, and I'll get out? Sorry, I'm not that obedient!"
