Chapter 423 Did I disturb Yue'er?

Chapter 423 Did I disturb Yue'er?

Lan Xiyue didn't say anything else, just gave the housekeeper a wink.

The butler understood what he meant and quickly led the two young men out of the hall.

Before leaving, the two young men thanked Lan Xiyue repeatedly.

Lan Xiyue looked at Mo Liyuan quietly and said softly, "Actually, you can grow vegetables indoors in winter."

When Mo Liyuan heard this, a hint of surprise suddenly lit up in his eyes, as if he had discovered a new world.

He listened attentively to Lan Xiyue's detailed explanation of how to grow fresh vegetables in a warm house during the snowy winter.

After Lan Xiyue finished speaking, Mo Liyuan's face was full of surprise and admiration: "Yuer, you are really smart. I will take you back to the house and I will go out for a while." There was a bit of eagerness in his words, and it was obvious that he couldn't wait to verify this new idea.

Lan Xiyue rolled her eyes at him, a faint smile curling up at the corner of her mouth: "It's right in the mansion, why would you send it? If you want to go and get busy, then go ahead."

Mo Liyuan looked at her deeply, then turned around and walked out with big strides.

Lan Xiyue looked at his departing back and thought to herself that he must have found someone to conduct the experiment according to the method she said. She didn't know whether he could cultivate it or not. After all, she was just talking about it and had never actually done it.

Holding an oil-paper umbrella, Lan Xiyue slowly walked back to the main courtyard.

When Chuchun saw her coming back, he hurried forward to take the umbrella and put it away.

The warmth inside the house formed a sharp contrast with the severe cold outside.

Chuxia came over, gently took off her cloak and hung it on the screen.

Lan Xiyue lay lazily on the small couch by the window, enjoying this rare leisure time.

Snowflakes are flying outside the window, but inside the house there is warmth and peace.

Chuchun brought a cup of steaming hot tea. Lan Xiyue picked it up gently, took a sip, and warmth instantly spread throughout her body.

Chu Xia came over with a plate of exquisite pastries and said with a smile, "Princess, this is the new pastry that Chu Chun has researched. It's delicious. Try it."

Hatsuharu scratched her head a little embarrassedly: "It's not that exaggerated."

Lan Xiyue put down her teacup, picked up a piece of cake and savored it carefully, a satisfied smile on her face: "Well, not bad, our Chunchun's cooking skills are really getting better and better."

Just then, the hurried footsteps of the butler were heard outside the door. He came to report, "Princess, the butler from the Protectorate's Mansion has arrived. He said he would like to invite you and the prince to dinner at the Protectorate's Mansion tonight."

Lan Xiyue was slightly stunned when she heard this, then she said to Chu Xia, "Go tell the housekeeper, I understand."

Chu Xia quickly responded and turned to walk out.

Lan Xiyue lay on the couch leisurely, "Oh, Chunchun, I'm so bored."

Upon hearing this, Chuchun raised a gentle smile and said, "Princess, wait a minute."

Lan Xiyue blinked and looked at Chuchun's departing back. Where was this girl going?

After a while, Hatsuharu came in with a few books, a proud smile on her face.

She came to Lan Xiyue and put the book down carefully.

Lan Xiyue raised an eyebrow, her eyes fell on the books, and her tone was a little playful: "What is this?"

Before Chuchun could say anything, Chuxia said quickly, "Princess, this is the most popular storybook in the capital. If you're bored, you can read it to kill time."

Lan Xiyue picked up a book curiously, flipped through a few pages, then looked up at Chuchun, "Did you buy this?"

Chuchun's cheeks flushed instantly. She lowered her head a little embarrassedly, her hands fidgeting with the corners of her clothes, and stammered, "That, um, yes, it was given to me by Guard Tianyi yesterday." Her voice became smaller and smaller, and in the end it was almost the sound of a mosquito.

Lan Xiyue looked at her with a half-smile, a hint of teasing in her eyes: "Okay, there's something going on between you and Tianyi."

Upon hearing this, Chuchun stomped her feet and her cheeks turned even redder. "Oh, Princess, it's not what you think." She defended herself anxiously.

Lan Xiyue looked at Chuchun's blushing face and couldn't help laughing: "Oh, what is that?"

Chu Xia covered her mouth and laughed, "Haha, Princess, it's just as you thought. Tian Yi is giving away..." Before she finished her words, Chu Chun quickly covered her mouth and threatened in a low voice, "If you say that again, I'll give An Yi away..."

Chuxia struggled to break free from Chuchun's hand, with a smile on her face, but she didn't dare to say anything.

"Tianyi and Anyi, huh? Not bad." Lan Xiyue opened her red lips slightly, with a hint of teasing in her tone.

The two girls, Chuchun and Chuxia, lowered their heads shyly.

Lan Xiyue didn't tease the two girls anymore, just let them take their own course. If she really thought it was suitable, she would prepare dowries for them. Lan Xiyue casually picked up a storybook, flipped through a few pages, and then suddenly closed it with a frown. "Oh my, what a joke! This rich girl broke up with her family and eloped with a poor scholar, and what happened? Two years later, the poor scholar passed the imperial examination and turned around to marry the princess."

She threw the script onto the table, making a loud "bang" sound.

Chuchun turned around after hearing this, her face still slightly red, and said, "Princess, the young ladies in the capital like to read these recently. Tianyi said these are the best-selling novels."

Lan Xiyue smiled when she heard this. "Ha! Isn't this the unfaithful Chen Shimei? Is this a storyline worthy of their admiration?"

Chuchun heard this, and a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes, "Princess, who is Chen Shimei?"

Lan Xiyue waved her hand, her tone somewhat helpless. "It's normal that you don't know. It's used to describe those ungrateful men who abandon their wives."

After she finished speaking, Lan Xiyue picked up another storybook and started reading. Lan Xiyue felt that the storybook was very boring and fell asleep unknowingly.

Chuchun and Chuxia saw that the princess had fallen asleep, so they took the quilt and covered her with it. The two maids were quietly doing handicrafts beside her.

After an unknown amount of time, Mo Liyuan walked in. Chuchun and Chuxia hurriedly saluted when they saw him. Mo Liyuan waved his hand and signaled them to leave.

He looked gently at Lan Xiyue who was sleeping soundly on the couch. Lan Xiyue opened her eyes drowsily and saw Mo Liyuan. A faint smile appeared on the corner of her mouth, "You're back."

Mo Liyuan helped her up, "Did I disturb Yue'er?"

Lan Xiyue shook her head, her hair brushing against her cheek. "No, I just got enough sleep. What time is it now?"

Mo Liyuan reached out and tidied up her hair in front of her, his movements gentle and delicate. "It's afternoon now, Yue'er, do you want to get up and wash your face to wake up?"
