Chapter 468 Yueyue, I don’t know her

As the sound got closer, the outline of a familiar carriage broke through the wind and snow and appeared in sight. When Tianyi saw the driver clearly, his eyes widened. Then he subconsciously turned around to look at Qian Duoduo who was still struggling with the saddle, and he understood instantly!

"Whoa!" The person driving the car was An Yi.

When he saw Mo Liyuan and Tianyi standing in the wind and snow, he was also stunned and suddenly pulled the reins.

The carriage came to a steady stop. An Yi nimbly jumped down from the shaft and said respectfully to the closed carriage, "Princess, the prince is here too."

The heavy curtain was lifted up by a delicate hand with a swish.

Lan Xiyue's beautiful face, filled with anxiety and worry, appeared.

When her eyes fell upon the familiar figure on horseback, she was stunned for a moment, but then a surge of surprise, like a warm current, dispelled the gloom between her brows and eyes, and her voice was filled with undisguised joy: "Mo Liyuan?! Why are you here too?"

"Yueyue!" When Qian Duoduo heard Lan Xiyue's voice, he instantly forgot about climbing the horse. He shouted in surprise and ran towards the carriage!

However, she had just taken two steps when her eyes were attracted by another tall figure riding a horse next to the carriage.

The man, draped in a dark cloak and slender like a pine tree, appeared dusty and travel-worn, yet his handsome appearance was barely concealed. He dismounted with a swift, clean, and efficient movement. It was none other than Lan Shenye!

Qian Duoduo's steps suddenly stopped, his eyes widening, as if he was even more surprised than seeing Lan Xiyue. The light in his eyes was even brighter than the starlight reflected from the snow. He blurted out a call with incomparable intimacy and dependence: "Brother Lan!"

It really can't be blamed on her. It was dark at night and her whole mind was occupied by Yueyue getting off the carriage. She didn't even notice that her beloved Brother Lan was right beside her!

Lan Shenye strode towards Qian Duoduo with big steps, his deep eyes filled with relief at regaining what he had lost and a deep, unbearable heartache.

He opened his arms without hesitation and hugged the little figure shivering in the cold wind tightly into his arms! His strength was so strong that it seemed as if he wanted to rub her into his bones and blood, and never let her suffer a single harm again.

"Duoduo... I finally found you!" Lan Shenye's low voice sounded in her ears, with a hint of imperceptible trembling and fear.

His broad, warm chest blocked the biting cold wind, and the familiar and reassuring breath instantly enveloped Qian Duoduo.

Qian Duoduo's stiff and cold body trembled slightly in his arms, and it was unclear whether it was because of the cold or the excitement.

Lan Shenye keenly felt her slight trembling, his heart tightened, and he immediately loosened his hold on her a little.

Without saying a word, he quickly took off his thick cloak which still retained his body temperature, wrapped it tightly around Qian Duoduo, and carefully tied the straps, protecting her from head to toe in that warmth.

Qian Duoduo was a little confused by the sudden warmth and Lan Shenye's undisguised concern. She raised her little face and looked at Lan Shenye's handsome face full of worry, which was so close to her. She felt a huge warm current flowing from her cloak to her heart, dispelling all the coldness and fear.

The corners of his mouth, numb from the cold, tried to bend upwards, eventually turning into a silly, yet incredibly real and brilliant smile, and his eyes sparkled as he looked at Lan Shenye.

Lan Shenye's warm big hand, with soothing force, gently fell on Qian Duoduo's frozen head, rubbed it, and his low voice was full of concern: "Duoduo, are you hurt?" His eyes carefully scanned her slightly pale little face and her thin body wrapped in a wide cloak.

Qian Duoduo rubbed his palm gently and shook his head vigorously: "No, Brother Lan, I'm not hurt at all." Although the process was extremely thrilling, he was indeed just a little frightened and cold.

"That's good." Lan Shenye's tense jawline finally relaxed a little, and his heart finally settled down. He gathered the cloak wrapped tightly around her to make sure that no trace of cold wind could penetrate.

On the other side, Lan Xiyue's gaze shifted from Lan Shenye and Qian Duoduo to Mo Liyuan.

She tilted her head slightly, with a hint of inquiry in her clear eyes: "It's so late, why are you in this wilderness?" The coldness of the snowy night did not seem to affect her. She stood there, like a plum blossom that blooms proudly in the snow.

A gentle arc appeared on Mo Liyuan's lips, dispelling the coldness between his brows. His deep gaze was only focused on her: "I just finished my business in Ling County and returned to the capital. I took a shortcut through here." His explanation was concise.

"Oh." Lan Xiyue nodded in understanding, her eyes casually sweeping across the dark red outlines of the two bodies that were quickly covered by the snow. Her brows furrowed slightly, then she regained her composure and said in a cold voice, "Let's go, let's go back."

When Qian Duoduo heard Lan Xiyue's voice, he immediately poked his head out from under Lan Shenye's cloak. Pointing at the women who were huddled together for warmth, looking timidly in their direction, he added, "Yueyue, they're just like me. We were all poor souls who were captured while cooperating with that 'alienation' at the Baihua Theater."

Upon hearing this, Lan Xiyue's gaze finally fell on the women who were shivering with cold, but she did not show much emotion.

She raised her hand and pointed at the spacious carriage driven by An Yi, and said in a calm but clear voice: "Everyone get in the carriage."

Those women felt as if they had been pardoned, and a trace of gratitude finally appeared on their frozen faces. They knelt down and saluted Lan Xiyue, their voices trembling with surviving a disaster: "Thank you, Princess! Thank you, Princess!" They supported each other and almost staggered towards the carriage that symbolized warmth and safety, fearing that if they were a step slower, they would be swallowed up by the merciless wind and snow.

However, only one woman did not move.

She was still standing there, her body trembling slightly from the cold, but her eyes seemed to be attracted by a magnet, clinging to Mo Liyuan's tall, pine-like figure with reluctance and secret desire.

Even through the wind and snow, Qian Duoduo could clearly see the undisguised covetousness in her eyes.

Qian Duoduo curled his lips in disdain and muttered softly, "Humph, Yueyue is already here, and you still don't give up? Do you really have to humiliate yourself?"

Lan Xiyue naturally did not miss the unpleasant gaze fixed on Mo Liyuan.

Her red lips parted slightly, and she uttered a soft yet remarkably clear snort. The sound was like ice beads falling on a jade plate, instantly freezing the air around her. She tilted her head slightly, her gaze like a sharp blade tempered with ice, pinpointing the unapproachable woman. Her voice was low, yet it carried a chilling pressure. "Who is she?"

Mo Liyuan raised his sword-like eyebrows, not even bothering to glance at her. He only looked at Lan Xiyue, his thin lips slightly curled, and his tone was filled with a hint of doting helplessness and absolute distancing: "Yueyue, this prince does not know her."

The moment the words fell, his eyes, which had originally been filled with tenderness, suddenly turned to the woman. His gaze suddenly became cold and sharp, like a physical blade, sweeping across fiercely with the unquestionable pressure and disgust of a superior!

"Ugh!" The woman felt as if she fell into an icy cave when she was looked at by such a cold gaze. She shuddered violently, and all her wishful thinking was instantly crushed.

Her face was as pale as snow, and she lowered her head in panic, not daring to raise it even a little bit. Her body was shaking even more violently, and she could hardly stand.

Lan Xiyue said with a hint of sarcasm: "Why? You don't want to get in the carriage, so you want to walk back by yourself?"
