Chapter 485 You slept for a long time

Chapter 485 You slept for a long time

Back in the warm bedroom in the main courtyard, Chuxia stepped forward to help Lan Xiyue take off the thick cloak that was stained with snow foam.

When her cold fingers accidentally touched the exposed skin on the back of Lan Xiyue's neck, she screamed in surprise. The touch made her heart tighten: "Oh! Princess! Your neck is as cold as a piece of snow! Really, it's so cold, and you stay in the snow alone for so long. You don't take care of yourself!" As she spoke, she hurried to pour hot tea, her tone full of heartache.

Lan Xiyue glanced at Chu Xia unhappily, "You're so nagging."

She took the hot tea handed to her by Chuxia, took a sip, put it aside, and walked straight to the carved bed. She lifted the gauze curtain with her slender hands and sank into the soft quilt with a lazy and tired feeling.

"You guys go down and rest too."

Chuchun and Chuxia looked at each other, replied "yes" respectfully, and then retreated quietly.

The door was closed gently with a soft "click" sound.

Lan Xiyue lay on her back with her eyes wide open, staring straight at the intricate lotus patterns on the ceiling of the tent.

The sky outside was already pitch black and everything was silent.

She felt irritated. In these long ancient nights, apart from going to bed early, there was no way to entertain herself. It was really... boring!

Suddenly, an idea lit up her eyes like a spark in the darkness—mahjong! Yes! How could she have forgotten this?

With a thought, she immediately slipped into the space.

Lan Xiyue walked quickly to the pile of gold, silver and jewelry in the corner, her eyes wandering in the dazzling light.

Soon, her eyes were fixed on those high-quality jades with a soft texture and pure color: mutton-fat white jade, emerald green jade, black jade, chicken blood stone... They had an inner luster and were warm to the touch.

"It's you!" A sly smile appeared on the corner of her lips.

Use these treasures to carve a set of mahjong to relieve boredom.

Having made up her mind, Lan Xiyue sat down aside. Just as she picked up a heavy piece of white jade, a huge white figure rushed over with the sound of wind.

The big white tiger's furry head rubbed against Lan Xiyue's legs, and a low "purr" sound came from its throat. Its round amber eyes were filled with undisguised resentment, and its tail swung weakly, as if silently accusing its owner of forgetfulness.

Lan Xiyue suddenly realized it and rubbed the white tiger's thick, fluffy neck fur with a guilty conscience, feeling the warmth. "Oh, Dabai, I'm so sorry, I forgot to bring you food."

Her tone was soothing. "Don't worry, tomorrow! Tomorrow morning, I'll go collect all the game and meat that An Yi and the others brought back and put it all into the space. There's plenty! I'll let you eat until you're full, okay?"

The big white tiger seemed to understand what she said. It whimpered softly, and then its huge body obediently lay down at her feet, with its huge head resting on its front paws like a huge white plush cushion. However, its eyes would occasionally look up at her with grievance.

After Lan Xiyue calmed Dabai down, her attention immediately returned to the white jade in her hand.

She collected her thoughts, took the knife, and concentrated on carving.

Lan Xiyue was completely immersed in the world of carving and forgot the passage of time.

On the ground beside her, there were more and more carved jade plaques stacked up together. Her fingers were a little sore from the long-term exertion, and her neck was slightly stiff from being lowered for too long.

It was unknown how long it had been, but when the last "Fa" card was completed at her fingertips, Lan Xiyue breathed a sigh of relief, and a huge sense of satisfaction arose spontaneously.

"It's done!" She looked at the mahjong set in front of her, meticulously carved from the finest jade. The tiles were clear and smooth, and she couldn't help but smile with a smug yet tired smile. "Not bad!"

However, once the highly concentrated mind relaxes, physical fatigue will come flooding back like a tide.

She subconsciously stretched her stiff neck and numb fingers and wrists, then yawned loudly, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes. "Hiss... so sore, so tired..."

She leaned over and rubbed the big white tiger's soft and warm fur hard again, and the big white tiger purred comfortably.

"Dabai, I'm going out first, be good."

As her mind changed again, Lan Xiyue's figure instantly disappeared into the space and returned to the bed.

Outside the curtain, the sky was already getting bright, and the faint morning light shone through the window lattice paper, casting a hazy grayish-white color in the room.

She actually carved in the space without stopping for the entire night!

"It's already daybreak..." she murmured to herself. A strong sense of fatigue came over her like a tidal wave. Her eyelids felt heavy as if filled with lead, and the pain in her neck and arms became more pronounced.

"I can't hold on any longer..." Lan Xiyue muttered, and almost instinctively fell headfirst onto the pillow, even pulling a corner of the quilt to cover her waist and abdomen.

Almost the moment her head touched the pillow, she began to hear the sound of subtle and even breathing. She had fallen into a deep sleep, ready to reward this "hard work" night with a sound sleep.

As for collecting food for the white tiger? Well... I'll have to wait until I get enough sleep.

Chu Xia tiptoed to the door and listened carefully. The room was still silent, with only her own breathing clearly audible. She frowned slightly. The princess had not woken up yet.

Chuchun walked over and asked in a low voice, "Is the princess still not moving?" She pointed at the tightly closed carved wooden door.

Chu Xia shook her head, her voice so soft as if she was afraid of disturbing the silence inside the door: "No, there is no sound at all."

Chuchun peeked at the tightly closed door. She lowered her voice and said with a sympathetic smile, "I guess the princess is sound asleep. The weather is getting colder. Don't bother her. Let her sleep a little longer. It's not a big deal anyway."

Chuxia said "hmm" softly, and the two of them retreated to the corridor and watched quietly.

Time flows slowly in the cool air, and the melted snow from the eaves drips onto the bluestone slabs, making a monotonous and clear "tick-tick" sound.

The shadow of the sun gradually grew longer and was almost reaching the zenith, and noon was approaching.

Finally, a long and lazy call broke the long silence:

"Early spring! Early summer!" The voice was hoarse as if he had just woken up.

When Chuchun heard the voice, she immediately responded "coming", pushed open the door and slipped in.

Chuxia quickly walked to the small kitchen to prepare some hot water.

The light in the inner room was soft, and the smell of the fireplace dispelled the cold.

Chuchun walked around the screen and saw Lan Xiyue lying on the brocade cloud bed, wrapped in a thick brocade quilt, with only a sleepy face showing.

Her long black hair spread out on the pillow, with a few strands playfully sticking to her cheeks.

Chuchun approached and saw her princess, who looked like she hadn't gotten enough sleep. She couldn't help but smile and said, "Princess, you're finally awake. It's almost noon now. You slept for a really long time."
