Chapter 81 Gobble

Yao Qiyue asked Jiang Ye to take good care of the two children in the hospital bed. She would bring back lunch at noon and also carefully asked Jiang Mei what she wanted to eat.

Along the way, Damao held her brother's hand silently. She didn't know where Yao Qiyue was going to take her.

Yao Qiyue walked very slowly. After all, there was a child following behind her, so she couldn't walk fast.

More than ten minutes later, everyone stopped at the door of the state-owned hotel.

Damao was shocked. She knew how much a meal here would cost, so she grabbed her brother's hand and refused to go in.

Yao Qiyue deliberately stood at the door waiting. Seeing Damao's shy look, she simply took Damao's hand and walked in.

The waiter came over with a sullen face and stretched out his hand to drive a few people away.

Damao and San'er's clothes were torn and dirty, and they looked like little beggars wandering the streets.

Without waiting for the waiter to speak, Yao Qiyue took out a thick stack of banknotes from his clothes, including fifty and one hundred yuan in bills.

The waiter who came up to me immediately put on a smile and asked, "Today's lunch is braised pork trotters, preserved vegetable braised pork, and stir-fried seasonal vegetables..."

At this time, Yao Qiyue had already seen the menu written on the small blackboard of the state-owned restaurant.

She took a few people to find a table in the corner and sat down.

The waiter followed Yao Qiyue closely, holding a small notebook to write down the menu.

"Today's staple food is steamed corn bread and multi-grain rice. White flour steamed buns are sold out, and each person can only buy two."

Yao Qiyue ordered the dishes generously: "I want one portion of today's dishes, eight steamed buns, twenty steamed buns, and four bowls of mixed grain rice."

She took out two lunch boxes and handed them over: "Make two more dishes to take away, one is braised pork trotters, and the other is braised pork with preserved vegetables."

The waiter kindly reminded: "You ordered so many dishes and rice that there will be some leftovers. Why don't you order less?"

Yao Qiyue didn't show any disdain for the kind reminders from others. She patiently explained, "Four or five of my family members are waiting at the clinic for me to bring back some food. Don't worry, I'll pack up any leftovers and take them away."

The waiter then calculated the price for Yao Qiyue: "A total of two catties and three ounces of food coupons, ten yuan."

Damao was stunned by the price, and she subconsciously grabbed Yao Qiyue's arm.

"This is too expensive. Don't order so much. We can't eat it both."

Yao Qiyue pushed back Damao, who stood up excitedly. She didn't show any expression, just looked at Damao calmly, and made Damao shut up obediently.

Damao didn't know why, but she was a little afraid of Yao Qiyue.

"Leave one of the white flour buns for Xiaowu in the ward later, and take the rest back and share them with the other children."

Yao Qiyue's words were firm, and Damao lowered his head and said vaguely, "Thank you!"

The food was served on the table soon. Damao could still hold back his appetite as he looked at the table full of meat and vegetables, but Saner was swallowing his saliva.

Yao Qiyue picked up some dishes from Xiaobao's plate and pushed the rest to Damao and Saner. In front of her was a plate of stir-fried seasonal vegetables.

“Eat!”

San'er looked up at Damao and only started to pick up some food after seeing her pick up her chopsticks.

Yao Qiyue was eating steamed corn bread herself, and she also brought steamed corn bread and mixed grain rice for Jiang Ye and Jiang Mei.

Xiaobao is small and has a small appetite, so the steamed buns are big enough. Yao Qiuyue saw that the steamed buns were even bigger than Xiaobao's face.

Damao didn't touch the multi-grain rice and big white steamed buns.

Yao Qiuyue took a look and saw that Damao had good eating manners. Although he picked up food frequently, he did not eat it rashly.

San'er may be young, and when he sees delicious meat and dishes, he eats them very quickly. He doesn't pay much attention to hygiene and will pick up and eat the dishes that fall on the table.

Damao slapped San'er's hand with his chopsticks and couldn't help but scold him, "Eat slowly."

She saw that Xiaobao beside Yao Qiyue was very well-behaved and ate slowly.

When she looked at her brother's eating manners, she felt a little embarrassed and was afraid that Yao Qiyue would look down on them.

Yao Qiyue finished the steamed bun in her hand and stopped eating. When she looked up, she saw Damao sitting across from her, looking cautious.

She comforted him, "Eat slowly, there's no rush."

It was not mealtime when Yao Qiuyue brought a few people here. There were two tables of people sitting in the state-owned restaurant. The other table was far away from them, and no one paid any attention to how Damao and the others ate.

When Da Mao had almost finished eating, Yao Qiyue finally asked, "Did you deliberately find Wu Jun and then trick him into beating Xiao Wu?"

"Have you ever thought about the consequences of your actions?"

Damao was anxious to explain, and she nervously said, "I didn't. I made steamed buns with the white flour you gave us, and I distributed the steamed buns to everyone so that they could eat them at the street corner."

"I didn't expect that Wu Jun was such a bad person. He tried to snatch the steamed bun from Xiao Wu's hand, and when Xiao Wu refused to give it to him, he kicked Xiao Wu."

"When we went up to stop him, Xiaowu had already been kicked away."

Xiaobao took a deep breath while holding the half steamed bun in his hand, and grabbed Yao Qiyue's sleeve in fear: "Mom, I'm scared."

Yao Qiyue knew that Damao was not lying. The person from the Wu family was really stupid in doing things.

Yao Qiyue patted Xiaobao's back soothingly: "Don't worry about Xiaowu. I will pay for the hospitalization."

"I will keep my word about the Yao family's house. I will leave it to you to live in from now on."

Yao Qiyue took Xiaobao's hand and went out with the packed food in her hand.

In the afternoon, Yao Qiyue took the initiative to find police officer Sun Dong.

"Comrade police officer, I'm here to report a crime. Our house was occupied by relatives while I was away."

"Now I want to turn that house into an orphanage. I hope the people who occupy my house will move out immediately."

Sun Dong wanted to sigh when he saw Yao Qiyue. The previous kidnapping case was left unresolved, and now his family’s house was occupied by vicious relatives.

Yao Qiyue is also an unlucky child.

Sun Dong said helplessly: "I'll go to the Yao family after I finish my work."

Yao Qiyue nodded: "Thank you!"

Sun Dong also felt a little guilty towards Yao Qiyue. They couldn't do their best in the kidnapping case, so they could only help Yao Qiyue when she needed help.

Fortunately, it was just driving away the vicious relatives, which was not a big deal for him.

As the two were walking outside, Wu Jun, who had been on the run for a day and a night, was arrested.

Yao Qiyue breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Wu Jun walking into the police station with a frightened look on his face.

Wu Jun was about to be arrested and sentenced, so Jiang's mother appeared in the clinic with gifts and Jiang Jie.

Jiang Mei was very scared when she saw Jiang's mother. She subconsciously buried her head in the quilt and was unwilling to face Jiang's mother.

Jiang's mother's smile froze on her face, and she placed the packed pastries in her hand on the table uncomfortably.

She didn't buy the cakes herself, but steamed them at home, using up half a bowl of flour.
