Chapter 1: Became a Rich Second Generation

An alarm clock rang, waking Lin Xiaoxiao up. Before she even opened her eyes, she realized that the sensation beneath her was wrong; it didn't feel like the hard, 70-centimeter wooden plank bed in her rented room.

She opened her eyes and found herself lying on a soft, 2.8-meter-long bed. She rubbed her eyes, wondering if she was still dreaming.

Lin Xiaoxiao unconsciously sat up straight, wanting to fully experience this luxurious "dream." But as soon as she stood up, she heard a mechanical beeping sound, and the surrounding darkness slowly began to rise, with sunlight pouring into the room from all directions.

The spacious surroundings, the unobstructed view, the luxurious interior design, and the panoramic city views all exude an air of opulence.

She couldn't help but pinch herself. Was she not dreaming?! Then she had transmigrated into the body of a rich person!

A phone call interrupted her excitement.

Lin Xiaoxiao, a long-time office worker, subconsciously answered the phone. Before she could speak, she heard a deep male voice, "Xiaoxiao, I've prepared Mom and Dad mentally. They don't mean to look down on your dreams. Your brother and Mom and Dad are just worried that the entertainment industry will promote the powerful and demote the weak. Since you don't plan to reveal your identity, we're just a little worried that you'll be bullied."

Lin Xiaoxiao instantly understood from the conversation that she was now a rich second-generation, and a rich second-generation who wanted to pursue her dreams in the entertainment industry. Just kidding, going to the entertainment industry would still just be being a wage slave. She had had enough of being a corporate slave and just wanted to go back to her several-thousand-square-meter mountain villa and lie down.

Thinking about the wonderful life ahead, she immediately said, "Brother, I want to go home, I really want to, I really do."

"Xiaoxiao, are you testing whether your brother really supports you again? If your brother says he will support you, he definitely will."

Lin Xiaoxiao's smile froze instantly. She realized that the original owner of this body had the same impulsive personality as her, and helplessly touched her nose.

"How's your first play script coming along? I've already taken care of all the company's qualifications and materials, and I've sent Secretary Zhao to help you. But while I'm all support, if your play doesn't turn out well, you'll have to go home and help your brother manage the company."

When Lin Xiaoxiao heard that everything at the company was settled, her heart sank immediately. She knew that if she didn't "hit a brick wall and suffer a loss," her family wouldn't agree to let her go back.

However, it's not easy for a show to become a huge hit if it's well-made, but it's not difficult for it to be poorly made and ruin its reputation. With her vast experience watching countless films, how could she not mess up a small TV series? Once her reputation collapses, she'll only be able to "cry" and return to her wealthy family to become a good-for-nothing who just loafs around and waits to die.

Lin Xiaoxiao smiled, suppressing her excitement, "Okay, brother, just wait and see how I shine!"

Haha, Lin Xiaoxiao will be rich one day! She's already thinking about whether to step back into the mansion with her left or right foot first. Here comes the wonderful tomorrow of being a lazy bum!

After hanging up the phone, Lin Xiaoxiao went back to bed for a nap. She then ordered a super luxurious lunch and sorted through the original owner's memories. The original owner's personality was very similar to hers; she was very docile when things were going her way, but extremely stubborn when things went wrong—stubborn beyond measure, and wouldn't listen to anyone's advice when she was angry.

When the original owner wanted to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry but was opposed by his family, he impulsively wanted to break with them and even had a big argument with them before storming off. In the end, of course, his family had to compromise.

While her family compromised, they didn't intend for her to stay in the entertainment industry long-term. That's why they figured the original owner would learn from her mistakes after hitting a wall, so they continued to invest in her and offer help behind the scenes.

After reviewing the original owner's memories, Lin Xiaoxiao discovered that apart from being poor, she and this "Lin Xiaoxiao" were practically the same person, and their relationships with family members were similar. So she relaxed and prepared to enjoy her life in a wealthy family. As for the movie her brother mentioned, she had long forgotten about it.

It wasn't until Secretary Zhao called her that she remembered the prerequisite for going home was to mess up the show first.

So, in a good mood, Lin Xiaoxiao took a taxi to her new company's office. It wasn't that she didn't have a luxury car, but that before she transmigrated, she was a pitiful person stuck on the fourth stage of her driving test. So, looking at the luxury cars in the garage, she only dared to touch them.

The eighth floor of the best office building in the city center —

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Secretary Zhao saw Lin Xiaoxiao and felt a little flustered. She was worried that Little Lin would dislike her for not renting the top floor, and she was also worried that Little Lin would be difficult to get along with and would have to send her back. After all, before coming here, Boss Lin had instructed her to listen to Little Lin and not to disobey her.

"President Lin, these are the company's documents. We have already set up a new company, Feiyang Entertainment, as you wished. Because we did not make any acquisitions, the company does not have any employees at the moment, but we will recruit them all within a month."

Secretary Zhao glanced at Lin Xiaoxiao's face and remembered that General Manager Lin had instructed the company not to have too many people. General Manager Lin was just doing this for fun and would go home in two years at most. Having too many people would make it too troublesome to clean up the mess.

"Feiyang Entertainment? Uh, never mind, that'll do. Let's talk about the show first."

Lin Xiaoxiao was eager to ruin the show and end her "entertainment industry" mission, so the sooner the show was over, the better.

"The first drama is a modern drama, with an estimated investment of several million."

Before Lin Xiaoxiao transmigrated, the closest she ever got to watching TV dramas was through a screen, so she knew nothing about the investment in television production. However, she hadn't just been lying around doing nothing these past few days; the entertainment industry in this world was quite similar to that in her original world.

As for the rest, Lin Xiaoxiao, as a seasoned viewer, is very clear about what viewers find objectionable. For her, something too conventional is like being slowly tortured, so this show has to be extreme, making viewers' blood pressure spike and want to curse, even making a passing dog bar its teeth.

Lin Xiaoxiao thought of the opinions of those bloggers who were criticizing the story, "The story is probably about Cinderella and a rich young master."

Secretary Zhao raised a question, "Isn't this subject matter too outdated?"

Lin Xiaoxiao explained, "No, there are always people making films on this subject, which means it's a subject with high audience approval. Our story is about two people from meeting to getting to know each other, and finally parting ways."

Secretary Zhao, who was taking notes, couldn't help but stop writing at the end, "Is it a tragedy?"

Lin Xiaoxiao nodded firmly, but a wicked smile crept across her face. Just imagine how the audience would react if, after watching a dozen or twenty episodes of the two going through all sorts of hardships, they parted ways at the very end of the final episode. She knew exactly how much criticism the audience would give them.

Lin Xiaoxiao knew that this outcome was not in line with the current market, so she tried her best to explain to Secretary Zhao, who was looking at her with some doubt.

"The two people have vastly different backgrounds and upbringings. After experiencing so many hardships, it will only deepen the gap between them and their understanding of each other's identities. Therefore, I will not force a happy ending just to cater to the market."

Lin Xiaoxiao glanced at Secretary Zhao, whose expression had visibly relaxed, suggesting that she had persuaded him.

So let's let her do something big next!
