Chapter 208 "The Ten-Thousand-Yuan Household" Season 2, Episode 22

Liu Erzhuang then took all of Aunt Liu's belongings with him, saying, "It's alright, Mom can take them if she wants."

Liu Wumei was speechless; so she was the only one being treated as the bad guy.

Seeing this, Liu Dazhuang adjusted the situation slightly, saying, "That's just how he is. Just imagine him as the emperor's chief eunuch."

The group burst into laughter instantly, while Liu Erzhuang glared at them with a dark expression.

The pedicab carried Aunt Liu and her belongings toward the city.

Sitting on the back of Liu Erzhuang's bicycle, Liu Sanmei couldn't help but ask, "You're so good to Aunt Liu."

Liu Erzhuang pursed his lips, his dark face revealing a hint of red in the whites of his eyes. He was a countryman with little education. He later went to the city to work as a bricklayer and eventually became a small contractor.

His mother provided both money and manpower, cooking for the workers at the construction site, washing his clothes, taking care of him, and even giving him her own retirement savings.

He always thought about making more money so that his mother could live a better life, but who knew that his mother would pass away so young. Her legs were always in pain, but he didn't know that. He had already made a lot of money, but he was still thinking about making more money to renovate the house or buy a bigger house. He thought there would be time in the future, but his mother never got to eat delicacies or live in a beautiful house before she passed away.

In the final moments of his life, all he had was a dimly lit hospital room filled with the pungent smell of disinfectant. Every time he looked into his mother's eyes, he couldn't help but feel heartbroken. His mother said she didn't want to spend any more money, but he disagreed. He believed that with the rapid advancement of technology, there would surely be a solution. However, before he could figure it out, the opportunity had already passed.

During that time, Liu Erzhuang looked at the expensive mahogany coffin he had bought, the grand funeral, the many paper offerings and wreaths, and listened to the people around him saying how filial he was. He felt very sad. He hadn't let his mother enjoy these things while she was alive, so what was the use of all this after she died?

He looked at Aunt Liu behind the tricycle in front of him. He always thought of her, but never dreamed of her. Perhaps it was because Aunt Liu resembled him in some ways. He always imagined his mother when she was still alive.

She hopes that in the next life, he can be her father, so that she can live a life without having to worry about money or endure pain, and without always waiting for him to come home. She hopes that he can watch her back instead.
