The first day passed in chaos and confusion among all the contestants. When Shen Jie woke up, she felt like she hadn't slept at all last night. Someone in their room had been grinding their teeth and someone else had been snoring.
She thought she would be more adaptable to this environment than others, but the reality was that she might have gotten used to her family's snoring, but she had to readjust to a different snoring frequency.
The people in her family snore loudly, and last night the sound was so loud it was like a snoring tumble. It made her feel like she was about to fall into a deep sleep, but she was also waiting for the right frequency to kick in, and then she unexpectedly had insomnia.
However, judging from the dark circles under the eyes of the others, Shen Jie guessed that none of them had slept well.

Just as Shen Jie finished speaking, she heard some noise from the outer courtyard where the argument had taken place yesterday. She handed the toothpaste she had bought together to her roommate Tang Wei, and while holding a water glass, she unconsciously leaned closer to the small gate connecting the middle and outer courtyards.
Shen Jie listened for a while and found out that Li Aizhen, who lived in the second room of the outer courtyard, and Wang Fang, who lived in the back courtyard, had argued because of going to the toilet. Shen Jie said that Wang Fang took too long to go to the toilet, and Wang Fang was not to be outdone, saying that there were several stalls and why was she only arguing with her.
Shen Jie smacked her lips twice, thinking to herself, "That's all?" and listlessly picked up her water glass and returned to the sink.

Seeing that no one else had made a move, Shen Jie said, "Let's take turns eating two meals a day, that way we can save some money."
The others were taken aback for a moment, but thankfully no one said anything. After all, the show's budget was only enough to last a month, and they had to draw lots every day; they might need to add more participants, so they had to be careful to make it to the end.

Shen Jie roughly calculated that about 100 people would be squeezed into the courtyard each day by drawing lots. About 200 people came in on the first day. That means if they draw lots once a day, it will take at least 8 more days. It is still a question whether they can last for 8 days.
Twenty-five rooms, that's an average of forty people crammed into each room?! How is that even possible?!
Shen Jie felt a chill run down her spine. Calculating the number, she realized that cramming a thousand people in for a month was impossible. However, it was only then that she realized the lottery hadn't ended yet! There were already over 25 rooms available!
It was then that she realized there were also contestants in the neighboring courtyard house, probably the same group of contestants they had drawn lots for when they filled out their application forms yesterday.
If there are two courtyards, with a total of fifty rooms, and each room has an average of twenty rooms, that's still quite terrifying!

Actually, she said there wasn't much to argue about. Their house was actually bigger, so it was just a bit cramped. And this was only the second day; the lottery still had more than twenty days to go.
