The lecture was so engaging that Lin Xiaoxiao and her roommate gained a comprehensive understanding of the professor's life experiences, his children's education, and the local customs and traditions. However, the course content was so easy that it went in one ear and out the other, so they had to cram together all night before the exam.
However, Lin Xiaoxiao herself still really likes the old professors. Some of them had been to the countryside in their early years, and some had been abroad. They had seen past times that Lin Xiaoxiao had never seen before, and had also faced some major historical events. These old professors were like small people caught in the vortex of the times. With their eyes and brains, they recorded the events they had witnessed. Like a kind of inheritance, they passed on their past experiences to the new generation of people who were about to emerge in the world.
Of course, at that time, Lin Xiaoxiao did not think that she would be able to make a name for herself in the world. As an orphan with no background, she was able to get into a good university only with the help of social and national scholarships and grants. She relied more on the will to survive in this world. She did not know how to live. She just wanted to have money in her pocket and food in her stomach. This was a simple wish brought about by her experience from childhood.
So, she's overjoyed to have transmigrated into the body of a rich second-generation heiress. Now that she has money in her pocket and can eat her fill, she wants to eat more and spend more money. She's always afraid that all of this is just a dream, and that it will all disappear when she wakes up. Then she wants to go back to her wealthy family and relax, to experience what it's like to be born without worrying about food or clothing, to have money to burn every day without having to worry about tomorrow.
Lin Xiaoxiao reaffirmed her resolve: she was determined to return to the wealthy family and live a life of ease, and no one could stop her!
The days passed quietly as Lin Xiaoxiao drifted back to her university days, filled with classes from 8 a.m. Most of the filming took place in an abandoned primary school on an island.
The location had three classrooms, a small courtyard, and a tiny flagpole. After filming most of the scenes at the school, Lin Xiaoxiao felt like she had graduated from university all over again. Every day was both boring and interesting.
During the filming period, Zhang Chenxi's agent did not come. The agent only came when the campus scenes were almost finished.
Zhang Chenxi couldn't help but complain, "Director Lin, you're not fierce at all, okay? You made it sound so serious at first."
The agent retorted directly, "If I don't say that, you can finish filming obediently and not cause any trouble." Although the agent retorted, she didn't expect that Director Lin's temper was quite different from what she had heard. Fortunately, the filming was almost finished, otherwise she was afraid that her artist would start to act childishly again after getting familiar with Director Lin.
Zhang Chenxi snorted in dissatisfaction.
The agent continued, "Does Director Lin's team need the lead actors to cooperate in creating a romantic pairing for the publicity? What did Lin Yang and the others say?"
Zhang Chenxi finally couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Director Lin would never use a CP (couple pairing) for publicity. Don't use your insider tricks to speculate about Director Lin."
The agent was surprised that her little darling had such a good impression of Director Lin. "It seems you've been having a good time on Director Lin's set lately."
Zhang Chenxi then talked about her filming experience during this period, saying, "Director Lin's crew is the best crew I've ever worked in. There are no clueless little stars or internet celebrities trying to ride on my coattails, and there's no blatant denigration or subtle criticism. Director Lin doesn't verbally tease like those pot-bellied, greasy directors I've worked with before. Every day, everyone seriously studies how to rehearse and film. It couldn't be more comfortable."
"What about Sheng Yiyi?"
Zhang Chenxi immediately lost her temper. "Yiyi is the best person imaginable. Don't look at Yiyi with those prejudiced eyes. We've already made plans to go shopping together after we get back. Yiyi and I get along really well. She's straightforward like me, just a little too soft-hearted. Luckily, Yiyi works at Director Lin's company, otherwise I would have signed her to my studio to prevent her from being bullied by others in the industry."
The agent was now filled with immense curiosity about Director Lin's crew and Sheng Yiyi. Her little princess was always arguing with everyone and everything, like a rocket launcher that could explode at the slightest provocation. So even though she worked hard to get Zhang Chenxi auditions for big-budget productions and cast her, she could still be replaced by other actresses.
The agent really felt that her artist's spoiled princess temperament was completely unsuitable for the entertainment industry, but since her family had some assets, she could only film some small web dramas and appear on variety shows.
The agent decided to stay a little longer until the drama was finished filming, to see how Director Lin managed to tame his little darling.
The next day, Zhang Chenxi's agent met with Lin Yang's agent, Brother Wang, on set. After exchanging pleasantries, Zhang Chenxi's agent saw Director Lin arrive and wanted to go up and greet him with a gift, but was stopped by Brother Wang.
"Don't go. Director Lin is different from others in the industry. Don't do the usual stuff, or you'll get scolded."
Zhang Chenxi's agent was a little dumbfounded when she saw Director Lin arrive on set and find the scene in perfect order, with the actors getting into character and quickly moving into position to start filming without any hesitation.
The filming was so smooth that it started immediately, which was different from what she had imagined. The scene transitions were also very smooth; they finished filming one scene and immediately moved on to the next.
Zhang Chenxi's agent, Sister Zhao, finally turned her attention to Director Lin behind the monitor, her eyes filled with respect. If someone had told her at the beginning that some directors didn't dabble in frivolous things and just focused on making films, Sister Zhao would have just smiled knowingly and not taken it seriously. After all, she could see how dedicated and good directors were both outside the industry and in the news.
She used to think that was just a persona, but now that a director who is serious about making movies and focusing on his work has appeared in front of Sister Zhao, she can only feel admiration. She almost tarnished this director with these worldly things.
Sister Zhao thanked Brother Wang sincerely.
Brother Wang waved his hand, "It's alright. If this show is good, it will also benefit Lin Yang. Now we're practically family, so we don't care about these details."
Sister Zhao discovered that Director Lin's crew had a kind of magic that made everyone unconsciously become pure, purely pursuing acting skills and details.
Sister Zhao watched as Zhang Chenxi, who was waiting to film her scene, squatted down with other actors, going over their lines and expressions, and discussing them from time to time. The minor actors, whom Sister Zhao didn't remember much, didn't fawn over or distance themselves from Zhang Chenxi because of her current popularity. They were like students in the same classroom, exchanging and discussing their problems.
However, Lin Xiaoxiao herself did not feel any of what Sister Zhao was experiencing, or rather, she simply hadn't realized it yet.
