Chapter 8 Bloody Drama Version 2.0

Thanks to the efforts of everyone in the crew, filming wrapped up ahead of schedule. Lin Xiaoxiao finally smiled at the end, but the smile vanished the next second when she looked at Zhang Fan, who was in charge of post-production.

The thought of being forced to work for a month and a half made her extremely resistant, both mentally and physically. So she made an excuse to work on the OST (songs for TV dramas), leaving the post-production entirely to Zhang Fan, and then promptly ran away.

God knows how hard she's been lately. Zhang Fan always leads the way in secretly working overtime, and when she finds out, she says they're having a dinner party, making it difficult for her to criticize him.

Before two days had passed, Lin Xiaoxiao received a call from the post-production staff. Listening to the argument on the other end of the line, she knew that making an excuse to run away was the right thing to do.

She was afraid that if she rushed through the post-production, Zhang Fan would come and urge her again, so she could only quickly hand over all the songs to the studio she had worked with on the previous film.

Only after the TV series aired did she finally emerge from "Zhang Fan's fear" and breathe a sigh of relief; it was finally over.

Lin Xiaoxiao was so tormented by this drama that she developed a phobia of it. In addition, after filming wrapped up, she had to smooth things over with Zhang Fan in post-production. Therefore, as soon as all her work was finished, she immediately silenced her phone and comfortably lay in her large apartment for a week.

Finally, Lin Xiaoxiao's inner trauma had subsided considerably, and she prepared to go out shopping and have hot pot.

Humming a song, she sat in the driver's seat of the red Ferrari, touched the steering wheel, and took a deep breath. Wow, this is the meaning of life! Who would have thought that after getting her driver's license in college, she would never own a car, and her first time driving would be in a Ferrari.

She had to admit she was a little excited. But despite her excitement, Lin Xiaoxiao didn't dare drive faster than 40 km/h, no matter how much the cars behind her honked.

Just kidding, she can't go back to her wealthy family now. All the cars registered in her name are in the family garage, except for this one in the garage below her residence. If it gets damaged, putting aside the question of whether she has a car to show off, the repair costs alone won't be cheap. She's now cultivating a persona of "not relying on her family to make it in the entertainment industry," and all the bank cards her family gave her have been deactivated long ago.

Lin Xiaoxiao's main goal was to show off, but she didn't want to spend any money.

As Lin Xiaoxiao queued to enter the parking garage, she remarked on how crowded the mall was on the weekend. Out of the corner of her eye, she seemed to see something and suddenly turned her head to look at the large screen outside the mall.

Was she seeing things? Why were those promotional photos and trailers for "Love Under the Moonlight 2"?! Upon closer inspection, she saw a desolate villa backdrop with handsome men and beautiful women dressed in various black formal wear, raising their glasses around the villa's only large sofa.

It really is a still from "Love Under the Moonlight 2," but how come she doesn't remember doing any promotion for it? Who betrayed her?!

Lin Xiaoxiao didn't call Secretary Zhao immediately. After all, it was the weekend, and if she rushed over to confront him now, wouldn't she expose her purpose?

Lin Xiaoxiao looked at the scene in front of the mall, where some young men and women were even taking photos with the large screen. A chill ran down her spine, and she immediately sensed something was wrong!

Lin Xiaoxiao endured it all in a daze until Monday. When she stepped into the company, she was greeted by champagne and fireworks, as well as all the crew members, including the lead actors.

The lead actors, Yu Ke and Sheng Yiyi, smiled and handed Lin Xiaoxiao two bouquets of flowers, while Secretary Zhao led the applause in front of everyone.

"Director Lin has such a keen eye! As of now, the rating for 'Love Under the Moonlight 2' on Douyu is 1.3 points higher than the original, and the sequel's rating has surpassed the first one. It's dominating the sweet romance drama genre and its popularity is crushing the S+ projects on the M platform. Director Lin is simply a master in the entertainment industry! Applause!"

Lin Xiaoxiao felt as if she had been shot in the chest. Ah, why are all the other sweet romance dramas so disappointing!

"Netizens also said that our Feiyang Entertainment has pioneered a new track for sweet romance dramas, namely, sweet romance tragic ending dramas. And there's more good news: 'Love Under the Moonlight 2' has been officially nominated for the Tomorrow Award! They urged us to finish airing it by the end of the year, but it turns out they were aiming for the award. Director Lin was truly a prophet!"

Tomorrow's prize is like the second arrow piercing Lin Xiaoxiao's chest.

"The male and female leads, as well as the supporting actors, have all been nominated, and we've also been nominated for the art direction award. Of course, the final result is a nomination for Best Director! Let's give another round of applause!"

Amidst the applause, Lin Xiaoxiao's heart shattered. Just then, the receptionist handed her a cake knife.

Lin Xiaoxiao was stunned when she saw the huge cake pushed out from the crowd, with "Breaking 100 Million" written on it. It was finally here, just as expected. The huge weight in her heart was lifted, leaving her dizzy and disoriented. She finished cutting the cake in a daze and returned to her office.

She needed to figure out what was going on. Why would a script that no one could understand become such a hit? Could it be that the actor she randomly picked up on the street actually had a knack for becoming a breakout star?

With questions in mind, Lin Xiaoxiao opened a certain online marketplace. The 15-episode drama had already aired 12 episodes, which was a normal pace. After all, she had given the order to finish airing it before the end of the year, five days a week, two episodes a day. She noticed that the rating was 8.9.

She gripped the mouse tighter, and when she looked at the comments, her other fist clenched as well.

[A melodramatic 2.0 version, the melodrama is just so satisfying, it's definitely the same familiar taste. Sheng Yiyi finally plays a real rich heiress this time, and she gets together with Chen Nan as she wished. But who would have thought that the "domineering president" from the first season would turn out to be a "phoenix man" in the second season?]

[It was actually quite exciting! My preconceived notions about the main characters from the first season led me to believe that Yu Ke and Chen Nan were definitely good guys, but I was really surprised later on. It turned out that these two were actually villains who were after the family fortune!]

[I couldn't agree more! Both of them have such "idealistic" faces; one married a rich heiress, and the other is the girlfriend of a rich young master—they were even boyfriend and girlfriend before! It's truly...exciting! I love watching! Director, please make more of these!]
