After a quick freshening up and a simple meal at the hotel, everyone changed their clothes and got ready to go out.
Zhang Jian looked at Lin Yang and said, "Why didn't you change your clothes? Did you not bring a short-sleeved shirt? I have some that I haven't worn before, you can wear them first."
Everyone looked at Lin Yang. Even Zhao Shufang, who was sensitive to the cold, had changed into a short-sleeved shirt, though she still wore a thin jacket over it. Because the cameras were rolling, Lin Yang could only say that he wasn't hot.
"It's okay, I brought a short-sleeved shirt."
Lin Yang was really hot and wanted to change clothes. However, when he opened his suitcase, he realized that this outfit was for a brand's promotional task, and he had to ensure a certain amount of screen time. He had adjusted to the temperature for a while now, and it was still manageable, but he knew that the temperature would be even higher in the last stop, S country, where it would be even more unbearable.
It would be better to finish the task quickly.
The others didn't think much of it, and Peng Miao even praised him for looking very handsome.
This prompted Kang Le to show off his Ultraman light-up shoes, and he only walked forward satisfied after everyone had praised them.
"Today we'll first go to a national park where wild elephants gather, and then have dinner in the park. That's the whole itinerary. A pre-arranged guide will take us there later."
Since most of the vehicles here are SUVs, the seven people were split into two cars. Kang Le and Sheng Yiyi were separated into two cars, one being watched by Lin Yang and the other by Zhao Shufang and Peng Lei.
As soon as we entered the park, Kang Le on the bus started exclaiming in surprise, his mouth agape.
As far as the eye can see, there is green grassland, and birds of all kinds with colorful plumage frolic on the riverbank. On both sides of the river stand baobab trees, known as "giants of the earth," with their wild and sturdy trunks and branches. In this tranquil park where only the sounds of insects and birds can be heard, it seems to transport people to the ancient grasslands. The sparse but vigorous trunks cast dappled shadows on the water under the sunlight. Monkeys and birds perch in the trees, standing there as if they are the "heart" of the entire landscape, making people unconsciously slow down and feel the wonderful chemical reaction between the ecosystems at this moment.
The park features both wetlands and marshes, and many rare birds that can only be seen in documentaries can also be spotted here.
Even more striking are the reddish-brown weaverbirds, soaring through the air like colorful brocade. And of course, there are raptors drawn by the spectacle, circling high above or lurking nearby, awaiting their next meal.
It was a breathtaking beauty, a boundless and unrestrained beauty, like the opening music of The Lion King, wild and free, and these feelings resonated in the hearts of every guest.
This close-up viewing provides a completely different experience from the wildlife areas in domestic zoos, as if you have truly immersed yourself in nature and become a part of it.
This is also one of the largest habitats for elephants, where large and small herds are scattered about, drinking water contentedly. There are also some playful calves spraying water at each other with their trunks. The mother elephants are leisurely grazing on grass with their trunks nearby.
In the dense grass, one can vaguely see zebra and antelope calves, their fur stripes not yet clearly defined, toddling along. Giraffes nibble on the new buds on the trees, swishing their tails, accompanied by the croaking of frogs and swarms of blue-banded butterflies. It immediately brings to mind the animated film Bambi, where young fawns, still learning to walk, chase butterflies fluttering among the flowers.
The lions were also yawning and grooming each other under the tree, creating a peaceful scene.
But upon closer inspection, one can discern the faint black leopard spots peeking through the tree trunks and the crocodile with only its two eyes visible on the water's surface, revealing the lurking danger beneath this lush, vibrant green landscape. It's enough to ignite a surge of excitement.
Upon arrival at the camp, the guide distributed lunch to everyone. The lunch boxes were already prepared, with each person receiving a Coke, a chicken leg, a wrap, and some fruit.
The food wasn't particularly delicious, but it wasn't bad either; it was enough to fill my stomach.
Eating while sitting on a camping chair in the open wilderness, surrounded by lively, curious animals, is indeed a very special experience.
Zhao Shufang and Peng Lei shared their Coke with the others. Kang Le, looking at the little deer who had been watching him, was so excited that he could barely sit on the stool, jumping around and eating a chicken leg while watching the little deer.
While eating, she mumbled, "Little Deer, do you want some too?"
Lin Yang, who was sweating profusely, couldn't help but facepalm. "Feeding meat to herbivores? Are you a devil?"
"Kang Le, don't come any closer. Have you forgotten what I told you before we left? Besides, deer don't eat meat."
Kang Le's mood wasn't affected; she jumped even more joyfully. "I know, deer eat grass!"
Lin Yang, standing nearby, ate while keeping a close eye on Kang Le, worried that wild animals might suddenly rush over and hurt someone, or that the little guy might do something rash and approach the wild animals. After all, there were absolutely no fences or other protective measures around the car.
Lin Yang noticed that there was no wind here. Although the temperature wasn't very high, the lack of wind made him feel a bit hot. After staring at Kang Le for a while, his forehead was covered in sweat again.
Zhao Shufang looked at the small animals that had gathered around and joked with a smile, "This is the first time I've ever been watched by so many animals while I'm eating. I guess they find us quite novel."
Zhang Jian looked at Kang Le, who looked dejected, and said, "Haha, look at Kang Le eating meat in front of the herbivores. The deer was so scared that it ran away."
Everyone burst into laughter, but Peng Lei suddenly said seriously, "Kang Le, you've seen a lot of scenery on this trip. You'll have to write a few good essays when you get back."
Kang Le's expression twisted again. Human nature is truly wicked; adults are all bad! Why say such sad things at such a happy time! Grandpa is bad! Little Deer is good!
Everyone else laughed along, but they didn't continue to tease Kang Le. He was the only little darling in the group, and they had to develop him over the long term. They couldn't bully him too much at once.
After everyone finished lunch, they visited wetlands and marshes, and learned from the guide how to track animal tracks and identify some local plants and birds.
At first, Kang Le was disgusted by the sight of feces and kept backing away. But when he found that he had actually found it, his eyes lit up as if a machine had been turned on.
The park's restaurant at night had a floor-to-ceiling window with a fantastic view, but once it got completely dark, you couldn't see anything. There was singing in the restaurant, and although I couldn't understand the songs, the combination with the lively sounds of the surrounding countryside created a unique atmosphere.
Kang Le was very excited from the moment we entered the park this afternoon, jumping and skipping around like a child his age should. Compared to the well-behaved child at the beginning of the trip, he really let loose and kept jumping around until we returned to the hotel in the evening.
Back in his room, Kang Le was still excitedly talking about all the small animals he had seen and the funny things they had done. Then, to his disbelief, he saw Zhang Jian, the parent he had been tutoring that day, and his expression changed instantly.
"Waaah~ I don't want to~ I want to go home~"
It was late at night, but the room lights stayed on for a long time, and from time to time, there could be sounds of crying and exasperation.
