Chapter 74 Traveling with the Family (5)

[Why are these guys all in such poor health?! What are we going to do about Brother Lin?!]

[Haha, this variety show is amazing! The whole group only has one strong, healthy young man; those suitcases scattered all over the floor look so desperate. I love watching it, I love seeing celebrities suffer on their travels.]

No, I mean, this setup really feels like a copy of my family's. We have elderly parents and young children. Every time I think about holidays, I rush off to go out with friends; I can't even imagine what we could do with the whole family.

[This guest lineup made me want to immediately click the "X" and leave. What a true reflection of life!]

[I'm different from the person upstairs. I love watching these chaotic scenes of celebrities. I especially love seeing celebrities travel with their families like ordinary people.]

Even with seven people, they couldn't reduce it to seven suitcases. The two seniors' back pain and physiotherapy supplies alone filled almost one suitcase.

Kang Le's small suitcase was replaced with a larger one. After finishing his winter vacation homework, there wasn't much space left. Lin Yang had to carve out some space from his own suitcase and other people's suitcases to pack Kang Le's carry-on luggage.

After all 10 boxes were packed, Lin Yang was panting heavily. Brother Wang had told him to rest a bit while he was on the travel variety show, but he couldn't rest at all.

When he tried to lift one of the suitcases, he realized it was too full, and each suitcase was heavier than the last. How was he going to survive the rest of his trip?

Peng Lei, who is middle-aged, has a bad back and cannot lift heavy objects. Peng Miao and the other two older guests cannot walk for long periods of time, so they have to choose some easy and relaxing activities.

Fortunately, there were two new brains to help book the guesthouse and car, otherwise Lin Yang probably would have quit the show on the spot. He now suspects that Li Yichen deliberately started a fight and ran away because he knew how tiring the show was.

The plane landed quickly. To save on baggage fees, Lin Yang upgraded the cabin for the two older guests, so they only exceeded the baggage allowance by one suitcase.

All seven guests were excited after landing, and even Kang Le, who was carrying his homework, showed a rare innocent smile.

After everyone finished moving their luggage, they pushed their luggage carts to the car rental area. Lin Yang thought that in order to save the budget, he had booked a three-story guesthouse without an elevator, and he would need to save his strength to move the luggage later, so he asked Sheng Yiyi to drive.

Having held her driver's license for four years but only driven twice, Sheng Yiyi wasn't flustered at all; in fact, she was quite eager to try.

Lin Yang immediately stopped worrying, after all, Sheng Yiyi had only been in the industry for a short time and might have been familiar with cars before.

When Lin Yang put all the luggage in the back of the minivan and opened the passenger door, he found that no one in the car was saying anything. He turned his head and saw that everyone was fastening their seat belts with a look of fear on their faces, holding onto the side handle with one hand and gripping the armrest with the other.

What happened?

The next second, Lin Yang, who was fastening his seatbelt, also panicked. No wonder he heard sounds coming from inside the car but no one was talking. It turned out that Sheng Yiyi in the driver's seat was watching a science video on how to start the vehicle.

"Yiyi, how about I drive..."

Lin Yang asked, trembling, but he didn't dare to unbuckle his seatbelt because Sheng Yiyi was pressing the buttons on the car based on the video.

"No need, everyone be quiet, I can't hear what you're saying."

Lin Yang fell silent instantly, meeting the equally bitter faces of the others in the rearview mirror.

Sheng Yiyi watched the video and picked up her manual transmission driving skills again, matching each part one by one: "This is the accelerator, this is the clutch, this is the brake, first gear, second gear, third gear... the turn signal is here, no, this is the windshield wiper, the turn signal is here, I understand, I'm going to start."

Zhang Jian and Peng Miao quickly seized the opportunity to speak, "Yiyi, wait a moment, let me drive."

Sheng Yiyi turned around, somewhat puzzled. She knew how to drive, and her driver's license was for manual transmission. Why was someone else driving?

Feeling encouraged by the looks from the others, Zhang Jian quickly tried to make amends, saying, "I haven't driven in a long time, I want to touch the car."

Sheng Yiyi thought that Zhang Jian probably wanted to experience the traffic jams that often occur during domestic holidays, so she readily agreed.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Lin Yang, who was in the front row, also quietly took a breath. Heaven knows that he hadn't dared to breathe loudly just now, for fear of disturbing Sheng Yiyi and ending up in a car crash and dying.

Zhang Jian, who often played upright characters, took over the vehicle. His righteous demeanor and trustworthy presence put everyone at ease, and they started chatting and laughing. However, their joy was short-lived; the car had barely started moving and hadn't even left the parking lot when it braked suddenly.

Upon closer inspection, they found that there were no other vehicles around; the empty parking lot contained only their car.

Everyone stopped talking, and their hands unconsciously tightened their grip on the handle again.

Zhang Jian slammed on the brakes and hurriedly tried to explain, "It's okay, this car is a little different from my family's car, it's fine."

Looking in the rearview mirror, Lin Yang saw that everyone except Sheng Yiyi, who had already closed her eyes and started sleeping, was staring wide-eyed at the driver's seat, jet-lagged. Lin Yang really hadn't expected that driving would be so complicated; it seemed he really would be the one driving today.

"Brother Jian, let me do it."

Zhang Jian didn't try to be tough and immediately backed down. His family had already switched to a new energy vehicle, and he hadn't driven a gasoline car in a long time. The feel of the car was indeed a bit unfamiliar to him. Of course, he could drive it, but being in a foreign country and unfamiliar with the car made him a little unsure of himself.

Lin Yang silently followed the navigation to the guesthouse he had booked in Garden Town. The others also dared not chat or sleep, and all silently stared at the road ahead.

An hour and a half later, the vehicle arrived at the guesthouse in Garden Town. During this time, everyone couldn't help but doze off because the vehicle was moving smoothly.
