Chapter 13 A windfall

Little did he know, a young girl was secretly plotting to make him take the blame.

After escaping that place, he carefully changed his appearance and then bought up all the rickshaws there.

He was clever; although it wasn't the most bustling area, there were rickshaws there.

He chartered all the few rickshaws he had and made them run all over the city.

He then mingled in one of the cars and left, changing vehicles two or three more times along the way.

Come to think of it, he had had a similar experience before, but he wasn't the only one at the time.

These were all things he learned back then, things he once thought he wouldn't remember.

But when such a moment actually comes, those memories become exceptionally clear.

That said, after our protagonist Liu Shile knocked down everyone in the courtyard, she tied them all up tightly.

Then she began searching for hidden rooms, secret compartments, and other places to store valuables.

Before long, she actually found a dark room.

This dark room is not large, less than ten square meters.

There weren't many things inside, just eleven boxes that emitted a faint fragrance.

She pursed her lips, not thinking there was anything good inside.

When I casually opened the lid, I was almost blinded by the light...

A whole box full of silver dollars was neatly arranged inside.

No, are all of these cabbages?

Although this dark room is a bit hard to find, it should be possible to find it with a little effort, right?

Only she would dare to think like that. Others would have a hard time finding this secret room, let alone even getting into this bedroom.

Without any hesitation, they put the box into the farm.

If she had known earlier that she would need gold and silver one day, she definitely wouldn't have complained that those things were useless and took up space back in the apocalypse!

Unfortunately, there's no going back in life, so she has no choice but to honestly go out and earn money.

If Lin Ziming knew about her thoughts, he would definitely scoff and say, "Ha!"

You're robbing people just like those bandits in the Qingchuan area, yet you're honestly making money?

Are you sure you're not kidding me?

Liu Shile was a little excited. The first box was full of silver dollars, so the contents of the other boxes should be just as good, right?

She opened the remaining boxes one by one, but was disappointed when she saw what was inside.

Six of the boxes contained bottles and jars (antiques).

The box contained some jewelry, such as pearl necklaces, which are things you can look at but can't eat.

The other three were filled with fabric, which looked very high-end.

But in Liu Shile's eyes, these were all useless things, and they couldn't be eaten either.

After casually putting all the boxes into the farm, I noticed a finely crafted wicker box in the innermost corner.

This is quite something, but Liu Shile has never seen it and doesn't care.

However, she was dumbfounded when she opened the box. The surface of the box was covered with rings of colorful banknotes.

Liu Shile wasn't entirely sure when she saw the small and large yellow croakers below.

There are ten large yellow croakers, but as many as thirty small yellow croakers!

Hey, does she look like she's struck it rich?

So, she originally just wanted to be a good person, but she was forced to make a fortune.

Hmm, it seems that my second brother's overly kind intentions aren't always a bad thing.

Although we encountered some dangers, the gains were equally great.

Liu Shile happily stored the small rattan box away separately before going back to find her second brother.

What she didn't know was that everything in the house was the result of her second brother's hard work over the years.

Some of it was even part of the activity funds given to them by higher authorities!

When Liu Shile returned to the basement, she saw her second brother sitting blankly on the ground, seemingly lost in thought.

"Second Brother, we're leaving." She greeted him with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Liu Shihua was immediately awakened and quickly got up, but froze the moment she saw her younger sister.

No, is this person in front of me really my own little sister?

Liu Shihua's surprised look made Liu Shile quite smug.

See? Even her own twin brother didn't recognize her at first glance. I bet other people would too.

Hehe, back in the apocalypse, such rudimentary methods were actually not very useful in front of people with superpowers.

She just liked it, so she learned it on the spur of the moment, and usually just entertains herself at home.

I never expected to find a use for my skills in this world; it feels pretty good.

"Second brother, how about it? Don't you recognize me? Hehe, come here, let me disguise you too."

Liu Shile's voice did not change, and she even spoke with a hint of smugness.

Liu Shihua then automatically attributed this to her sister's bizarre encounter.

Nodding, he sat down on the stool quite consciously, letting his younger sister do whatever she wanted to him.

Liu Shile was quick and skilled; in no time, she had replaced her second brother with someone else.

"Alright, second brother, just take his clothes off his body and that's it. I'll wait for you outside."

As Liu Shile spoke, she pointed to the person who was tied up near her second brother.

Her second brother's build was similar to that man's, so it was perfect for her to impersonate him and leave.

Actually, her second brother could have done it without pretending, but she hadn't done it in a long time and wanted to try it out.

She felt a little regretful that there was no mirror, so she couldn't let her second brother see what he looked like now.

She decided to take her two older brothers out for a walk later, and at least let them see what they've become.

Although Liu Shihua didn't understand why, she obediently agreed.

Upon seeing the scorching sunlight again, he was momentarily disoriented and subconsciously squinted.

The basement was dark. Although he hadn't been there for very long, it wasn't short either, so it was normal for him to feel uncomfortable for a while.

Liu Shile wasn't in a hurry; she was certain that the place was currently safe.

So she wasn't in a hurry. She waited until her second brother had adjusted to the sunlight outside before leading him away in a relatively safe direction.

Throughout the journey, Liu Shihua was somewhat nervous, fearing that she would be recognized.

He was even more afraid to speak, worried that people would stare at him if he opened his mouth.

This person was not friendly to the siblings, and so many things happened along the way.

He felt that his and his sister's experience on this trip could be written into an adventure story.

However, he had no interest in writing it; he was just very scared.

"Second brother, let's stay here tonight. This place looks pretty good."

Liu Shihua had been following his sister closely with his head down. When she suddenly stopped, he almost bumped straight into her.

"Ah, good, but I don't know if we have enough money."

Liu Shihua was a little worried. The place looked nice, but what if the price was too high? They might not be able to afford to live there.

Although his sister had mentioned that she had received payment, he didn't know if it would be enough to cover their accommodation costs!

At this moment, Liu Shihua was extremely frustrated...
