Chapter 24 is a bit mysterious

Liu Shile was puzzled, and then Chen Jing pulled her into the backyard.

"Sister Jing, what's wrong with you?" Liu Shile had a bad feeling.

Chen Jing twisted her fingers, and after a while, she mustered up the courage to speak, looking apologetically at the girl in front of her.

"I'm sorry, Sister Liu, I can't exchange coins with you anymore."

Yesterday she returned home happily and told her parents about it, but their attitude changed.

Her father explained the current situation to her with a serious expression and refused to give her any money.

Her mother went even further, taking away all her savings books and saying she would keep them safe for a few days.

She almost burst into tears.

But after her older brother explained the reasons to her, she finally understood the family's current situation.

Knowing that what she did would only cause trouble for her family, she really didn't dare to act recklessly.

The thought of breaking her promise to her little sister made her feel bad.

This matter had been weighing on her mind for a whole day, and if she didn't say it soon, she felt like she was going to get sick from holding it in.

Now that she's said it, she feels a huge sense of relief.

Just as expected!

Sighing inwardly, Liu Shile would be lying if she said she wasn't depressed.

But you can't really blame them, since they just like it, not that they need it.

She didn't make any backup plans after that, which is why she's in this situation.

"Oh, I see. It's alright, Sister Jing. I understand."

Although she was extremely upset, Liu Shile could only force a smile and express her understanding.

What else could she do? Beat him up?

Or should you speak ill of others and then blame them for breaking their promise?

This is completely unnecessary; she doesn't like to make enemies easily, no matter where she is.

To avoid being secretly attacked by someone from the shadows.

Chen Jing felt bad when she saw that the girl not only didn't blame her, but also comforted her.

She could tell that the girl's condition might not be good.

If circumstances allowed, she would be willing to help her, especially since she was quite lovable.

But there was nothing she could do about it.

The two talked for a while longer before Chen Jing said, "Yesterday my sister said she would treat you to a big meal. I'll have Uncle Du make you something delicious. Eat before you leave."

"No, no, Sister Jing, I brought some ingredients with me."

I'd like to ask Sister Jing to help me ask my master if he could process this for me? As for the payment...

At this point, Liu Shile was a little troubled. She had thought that if she exchanged the money, she could give it to him.

But now, the money hasn't been exchanged, and she has no money in her pocket, so what she'll use as payment is a real problem.

Chen Jing then noticed the vegetable basket the girl was carrying.

I never expected her to bring ingredients to ask someone to cook for her.

She was puzzled as to why the girl didn't cook at home herself.

Although she was thinking about it, she refrained from asking the question.

On the contrary, I was happy because I was able to help this little girl.

So she laughed and said, "What's the trouble or not? And don't talk about compensation or anything like that."

"Come on, I'll take you to talk to Uncle Du! Uncle Du is a very nice person."

Without saying a word, she pulled the person into the kitchen.

The kitchen is a place that no unauthorized people are allowed to enter, and Liu Shile really had no intention of going in.

However, since the girl had already pulled her along, she naturally couldn't refuse.

After all, it would be even better if you could communicate with the chef yourself.

Most of the things she kept in the villa were fruits.

A small portion consists of meat, and of course, there is some rice and noodles as well, but not in large quantities.

However, what she calls "not much" is not considered a small amount in this era.

After all, the villa's kitchen is huge, and there's also an underground storage room below the kitchen.

She likes to move things inside all the time, whether she has something to do or not.

However, the basement was only so big, and even if it were completely filled, she felt there wouldn't be much stuff.

This time, she took twenty catties of beef, a pot of oil weighing about two catties, five catties of rice, and some seasonings from the warehouse.

Back then, she also had a desire to improve her culinary skills.

So even though her cooking skills weren't great, the villa always had all the ingredients she needed.

"Uncle Du." As soon as she entered the kitchen, Chen Jing greeted Master Du.

Master Du was in his forties, slightly overweight, and had a ruddy complexion; he looked like someone who was doing well.

"Oh, it's Jing! Oh, this little girl seems to get along very well with you, you even brought her here?"

Master Du has a very keen sense of smell. As he spoke, his gaze fell on the basket the little girl was carrying.

Chen Jing knew about Uncle Du's hobby; he loved cooking.

Therefore, he quickly replied, "Yes, we had something to do, but I broke my promise."

"Oh dear, why am I saying all this? This little girl wants you to cook her something nice to eat, Uncle Du. Could you help her?"

He was right; it seemed the little girl had brought quite a few good things.

"I don't do just anything for you, young lady. Let me see what you brought with you first."

He wasn't lying. Chen Jing tugged at Liu Shile, signaling her to quickly show the ingredients to Uncle Du.

Liu Shichao immediately understood, and lifted the blue cloth covering it, revealing the meat, oil, rice, and other ingredients inside.

When Master Du saw these, his pupils contracted slightly.

These things don't look like something just anyone could produce.

The beef looked like the best quality, and the oil was clear and bright, not cloudy at all!

Especially the rice, which was snow-white. Who could produce such fine white rice at a time like this?

He couldn't help but take another look at the little girl.

Unfortunately, in the end, one can only sigh and think, "You can't judge a book by its cover."

He was instantly tempted, but he also had to make the unpleasant point clear upfront.

"I can help you cook it, but after you've cooked it, you can give me a bowl of beef."

His mother hadn't had anything good to eat in a long time, and he didn't want to miss out on something this good.

He wasn't greedy; no matter how the beef was cooked, it always had to be served with some side dishes.

Therefore, a bowl contains at most one to two kilograms.

Liu Shile originally thought that she would have to use a lot of words and then discuss the payment.

Unexpectedly, this person was so agreeable, and the compensation they asked for was also very reasonable.

She immediately perked up and nodded repeatedly, "Okay, Uncle Du and Sister Jing will each have a bowl then."

Now, Liu Shile was really happy. Even though she didn't get any money, she could at least eat something delicious!

“I haven’t been able to help you, sister, so you can’t accept this. It’s only right that Uncle Du takes it; I can’t accept it.”

Chen Jing waved her hand, indicating that she could not accept it.

In a good mood, Master Du casually asked, "Is there anything you need Jing'er to help you with, young lady?"

this?

Chen Jing glanced at Liu Shile, unsure whether she should speak.

Seeing this, Liu Shile smiled and took out a US dollar bill. "It's nothing, I just wanted to exchange some money with Sister Jing."

So Jing was distracted all day because of this?
