Chapter 175 Drunken Ramblings, Handsome Young Man...

Chapter 175 Drunken Ramblings, Handsome Young Man...

Seeing her silly look, Zong Suyi's anger vanished with laughter.

He indifferently withdrew his hand, maintaining the composed and self-possessed demeanor of a noble lord. "Your Majesty is probably drunk and talking nonsense. My wife and I are deeply in love and have a lovely eldest daughter. Of course, I would never abandon her."

She turned her body to the side, arrogantly raised her chin, and said coldly, "Your Majesty should just give up on that idea." She secretly glanced at her out of the corner of her eye.

Zhang Ting was shocked by the beauty's infatuation, but he couldn't bear to give up. He took her delicate hand again and said, "I am very wealthy. I would not say I spend money like water, but I am certainly well-off and live a comfortable life. Among my colleagues, I am considered to be in the upper echelons. In terms of power, I am a prefect of the fifth rank, and my future prospects are limitless. As for appearance, talent, and reputation, I am often praised and have never been questioned."

"My lord, with your beauty that could shame the moon and flowers, and your purity and virtue, why do you suffer in this humble alley? You are my daughter, and I will treat you as my own. We can have another child together in the future. Why not divorce me today and come with me?"

Zong Suyi couldn't suppress the corners of his mouth as he turned his head away. This damned man was spouting nonsense! He straightened his expression, turned to look at her, and said, "Since Your Majesty is an official, you should be dignified and composed. How could you possibly want to take another man's husband?"

He brushed her hand away, saying, "A good man doesn't marry two women. No matter how outstanding you are, I will not submit."

Well, even if a forced marriage is sweet, she still needs to hold office and can't afford to lose the big picture for the small gain.

"In that case, I have offended you. I will take my leave."

Zong Suyi's eyes widened in disbelief. He was still expecting Zhang Ting to forcibly take a married man and force him to marry her. Why did the act stop there?

He opened and closed his mouth, watching the other person stagger away. Ignoring everything else, he rushed forward to stop her, his beautiful eyes filled with a pitiful look, "You give up too easily..." In storybooks and plays, don't bullies or bandits always forcibly take away beautiful women and fight them for three hundred rounds? How come with this deadbeat, she's already exhausted before the main act even begins?

Zhang Ting didn't understand why her beloved husband, who had just rejected her with an iron will, had chased after her. She sighed three times instinctively, looking utterly dejected yet maintaining a gentlemanly demeanor. "Since you have someone else in your heart and refuse to be with me, though I yearn for you, I know your heart is as hard as stone. How could I trouble you?"

"So be it, so be it. I'll sleep alone through the long, lonely nights, and eat cold food and drink ice water all by myself. What does it matter?" She gave him one last, affectionate look, lowered her eyes, and left dejectedly.

His silhouette was solitary and lonely, utterly desolate.

Zong Suyi was heartbroken at the sight. He rushed over and hugged her waist, saying in a tearful voice, "Alright, alright, I don't love my wife that much. I'll marry you." Seeing her so lonely and pitiful, his heart felt as if it had been stabbed several times.

Zhang Ting pinched himself, squeezed out a few tears, and emotionally embraced the beauty, saying, "With a husband like this, what more could a wife ask for?"

Zong Suyi nodded in agreement, tears streaming down his face. Halfway through his tears, he realized something was wrong. Wasn't she his wife? Weren't they all entering the same door after marrying each other?

He sat up abruptly, his face streaked with tears, and asked her blankly, "Are you playing me again?"

When Zhang Ting was caught red-handed, she froze for a moment. How did her husband suddenly become so clever?

Zong Suyi's jade-like hand transformed into a demonic claw, pinching someone hard as she ground her back teeth and said, "You scoundrel who only knows how to lie all day long, I'll teach you to bully me!"

Zhang Ting couldn't dodge in time and took the hit squarely. Ouch! That was powerful! Are all married men outside this fierce?

"My lord, please let me explain. Things are not as you imagine."

"Don't run away! Stop right there! I'm not listening to your excuses."

Zhang Ting wanted to reconcile with her handsome husband, but he was carrying a large stick capable of killing someone, so she dared not stop, no matter how many excuses she had. Therefore, one should not casually flirt with someone else's husband; a careless move could lead to death.

In her haste, she hid in a room. Not far away was a bedroom with heavy curtains, and closer was a small study partitioned off, complete with a table, chairs, cabinets, and shelves. Books were neatly arranged on the dark brown shelves, and the air was filled with the fragrance of sandalwood, which was very pleasant.

However, for some reason, she was very familiar with the layout of the place. Just as she was wondering about this, she heard footsteps behind her, like the King of Hell approaching step by step.

Zhang Ting's expression hardened, and following her instincts, she slipped into the layers of curtains and hid.

Zong Suyi narrowed his eyes and pushed open the door. He had just witnessed her enter the room. He sneered and deliberately called out in a high-pitched voice, "Come out quickly, Lord Zhang~ Do you think I, a weak and frail young man, can possibly defeat a strong woman like you?"

With a sweep of his long legs, the door slammed shut.

He wouldn't let a single fly out.

She walked slowly inside, her face full of worry, and said softly, "Lord Zhang, you have drunk too much. Are you alright now? I have ordered the servants to prepare some sobering tea, and I am waiting to personally serve you to help you sober up."

He lifted the layers of curtains, but didn't see a single person. Suspicion arose in his mind: Could it be that the dead man isn't here? Is he playing a trick on him?

"Lord Zhang, didn't you just tell me it wasn't intentional and that you wanted to explain? Where are you? Why don't you come out and talk to me about it?"

"Please stop neglecting me, my heart is breaking."

The room was silent, without any response.

Zong Suyi, with her delicate beauty, stepped out from behind the heavy curtains, only to find the window wide open, with dazzling sunlight streaming in.

His pupils contracted slightly, and he strode forward. There was a footprint on the windowsill. He gritted his teeth, thinking, "That bastard ran away from here!"

He was about to step out the window to chase after them, but suddenly stopped and pulled his foot back.

Zong Suyi was hesitant. This cunning old devil had let him discover her whereabouts so easily? It wasn't like her.

His eyes darted around, and he made a loud splash as if he were leaping out of the window, muttering a few curses as if he were really chasing after someone. Then he took off his shoes and socks and tiptoed back inside, going to Shile's favorite hiding place, and suddenly pulled back the covers.

The man was still patting his chest in lingering fear when he felt a chill on his body and his eyes widened in shock.

Zong Suyi, like a kitten that had caught a mouse, his pupils bright and glistening with tears, laughed heartily, "I've caught you! Let's see how you run now."

Zhang Ting feigned self-deprecation: "I am dull-witted and cannot compare to your profound wisdom and resourcefulness." Taking advantage of his smugness, she turned and ran.

Zong Suyi, however, was prepared. With a sweep of his long legs, he pounced on the man and pinned him to the bed, saying smugly, "You dare to show off your petty skills in front of me, Master Lu?"

Looking back at the face of the person beneath him, the woman's originally fair face was now covered with a blush of pink, adding a touch of brilliance. Her amorous peach blossom eyes blinked, and the affection flowing within them made his breath catch in his throat.

He felt a tickle in his heart, his face flushed red, and his whole body felt hot. "You can't escape this time."

Zhang Ting really couldn't escape. The beautiful woman sitting on her was as strong as an ox, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't break free.

She lay sprawled on the bed, closing her eyes resignedly. "If my lord wishes to punish me, then summon your wife. Zhang Ting will punish me as he sees fit." She would appease her husband first, and then, once she saw his wife, she would offer herself some excuses. She refused to believe that there were that many truly clever people in the world!

Zong Suyi loosened his grip on her, turned his head to cup her face, raised his graceful eyebrows, and his eyes filled with intoxicating affection as he softly said, "What do you mean by 'wife'? Today you are my wife."

Zhang Ting's brain was too foggy from being drunk to process what she was saying.

The moment she opened her eyes, she saw the beautiful married man undressing in front of her.

She stared in disbelief: "You, this, this..." Just now they were shouting and killing her, and now they want to go to the other side of the river together. Has the outside world become this advanced?

Zong Suyi ripped open his outer robe and threw it on the ground, thinking she was disobeying him. He then curled his lips into a wicked smile and whispered in her ear, "Go ahead and scream, scream all you want, no one will come to save you." So, he had to play the role of this bully and bandit himself.

The beauty's collar was slightly open, revealing a piece of white, cold jade underneath. Her collarbone was hidden among the snow, swaying in a perfect arc as she moved. Following the winding path of the snow, there were two beautiful plum trees, each bearing two bright red plum blossoms, blooming with the most dazzling color in the frigid snow.

Zhang Ting opened her mouth, unsure whether to thank nature for its bounty or to thank the lunch that had been delivered to her door.

She was unusually conflicted. "This...isn't this inappropriate? Doesn't the young master care about his wife?" He hadn't even divorced her yet, and his affair with her would really damage his reputation.

Unexpectedly, the other party snorted coldly, "That heartless old bastard always tortures me in bed. Afterwards, I'm covered in bruises and often in so much pain that I can't get out of bed. Why should I care about her?"

Her last glance fell on Zhang Ting, a look of both resentment and shyness on her face. She bit her red lips and said, "Lord Zhang, stop your nonsense and quickly share in my pleasures~"

Zhang Ting never expected that the wife of the scoundrel would be so despicable, actually having the heart to abuse a pitiful beauty. It was simply inhumane and cruel!

The person opposite was already so anxious that they started to pull off their clothes. Their small hands were like cold jade, cool and smooth, and when they touched the body, they seemed to dispel all the heat. It was hard to imagine what a pleasant feeling it would be to hold such a jade-like person naked in one's arms.

But Zhang Ting felt she still needed to struggle a bit. She was an upright and kind person. "My lord, we can't do this. I'm sorry to your wife. I'm sorry... Please let me go. Let's pretend we never met today..." As she spoke, she made a move to get up and run out.

Zong Suyi grabbed her clothes and dragged her back, giving her a coquettish glance. "What are you pretending for in front of me for?" She forcefully tore off her robe. "Hurry up and get to work, I can't wait."

They were so enthusiastic that Zhang Ting felt something was off. Just as she was about to turn over and show off her prowess, she was pushed back down with such force that she couldn't refuse.

"Don't move. Let me test whether Lord Zhang is of any use."

Her thoughts, clouded by the alcohol, became even more hazy, as if she were adrift on the ocean, sometimes encountering towering waves and sometimes retreating swiftly. She felt like a battle-hardened sailor, raising her sails to fight against the fierce waves, dodging the biting howling winds, and overcoming numerous difficulties before finally reaching the glorious shore.

After an unknown amount of time, Zhang Ting felt as if she had been completely drained by her husband.

In the dead of night, in the hazy state of sleep, she vaguely remembered that this mansion seemed to be her home.

That scoundrel is...?
