As soon as the two left, a cold and terrifying old man with bandages wrapped around his head emerged from behind the screen. He stared intently in the direction Uchiha Itachi had left with a chilling gaze. It was none other than Shimura Danzo.
"Has the Root organization made any discoveries regarding this matter?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi, completely unconcerned about Danzo's reaction, calmly inquired.
"The results of the Root's investigation are no different from what you just said, and the pursuit team has also lost track of them. What exactly are these water rats from Kirigakure up to?!"
Danzo Shimura angrily jabbed his cane. Of the five great nations, the other villages all had Root spies, but only Kirigakure was surrounded by water and was too isolated, making it impossible for spies to get in.
"Since that's the case, then so be it. We'll intensify our efforts to investigate spies in the village. Konoha Village fears no challenge!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi slammed his hand on the table, finally revealing some of the prowess he was known as a ninja hero, which surprised even Danzo Shimura.
Fortunately, that fierce expression only lasted a moment. After catching his breath, Shimura Danzo continued, "The Hidden Mist Village actually sent spies to investigate; they're probably targeting the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. It's too dangerous to leave him out alone. Hiruzen, hand him over to me. I will train him to be the strongest weapon in Konoha!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi's eyes flashed with a chilling light. "Forget about it. I will never hand Naruto over to you!"
Danzo froze, his half-exposed face turning bright red, then he slammed the door shut and left angrily, leaving behind only the words, "You'll regret this, Hiruzen."
Hearing the loud crash, Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression turned cold, and he replied with the familiar words, "I am the Hokage, Danzo."
