Chapter 162 The Fall

The temperature has risen to over 20 degrees Celsius, and it's not cold at all when it's not raining.

After the house was renovated, the three people and two animals had a big meal outdoors.

“Brother, sister, it’s good for us to live in the mountains. It’s a big place outside, and we can go out and explore.”

Of the three, Xiao Hao was the happiest.

Zuo Ling laughed at him: "It's because you've been cooped up in the house for too long. You'll get tired of it eventually."

"No, I won't."

Xiao Hao shook his head vigorously; he only remembered the happiness of the moment and couldn't think too far ahead.

The three of them chatted and laughed, all seemingly enjoying a camping trip.

As they were talking, the mountain suddenly trembled, the snowy night roared, and the waterfall emitted a sharp, agitated sound.

Pei Nansheng and Zuo Ling's expressions changed. Pei Nansheng shouted, "Pack your things, quick! Xiao Hao, keep an eye on the Snow Night Waterfall!"

Zuo Ling immediately packed up the container house, and swept all the scattered tables and chairs outside into the space.

The mountain shook even more violently, sand and stones fell, and the ground beneath our feet was as soft as steamed rice cake. The sky, which had just been clear and bright, turned into a heavy yellow fog.

The helicopter was launched, and the three people and two animals steadied themselves and quickly boarded.

In the distance, two towering whirlwind water dragons danced and swirled wildly across the land.

At each location, people, assault boats, rubber dinghies, telephone poles, and all sorts of debris were swept up by the water jets and thrown into the air, their screams drowned out by the waves.

The rickety, overburdened high-rise building was pushed down by a giant water jet, like dominoes, but without any of the beauty of dominoes falling.

Pei Nansheng quickly pulled up the control lever, and Zuo Ling secured Xiao Hao and Xue Ye to one seat, while she and the waterfall sat in the passenger seat.

The once towering mountain peaks collapsed inch by inch, like blocks of tofu.

The waterfall pricked up its ears, stared at the rabbit with terrified eyes, and pointed its little paws downwards, screaming.

Xiao Hao exclaimed, "Brother, sister, look, look! Down there, down there!"

The earth cracked open in countless places, and the floodwaters that had plagued the capital for more than three months rushed into the cracks.

Before anyone could see the true face of the underwater land, roads, streets, buildings, people, and debris... poured into the black hole like a waterfall, disappearing without a trace before they could even make a sound.

The floodwaters surged rapidly, obscuring the man-eating black hole.

The water column, several meters wide, resembled a multi-edged cleaver, slashing horizontally and vertically, as if it had obsessive-compulsive disorder and wouldn't stop until it had leveled anything above the water level.

The once bustling Kyoto is now reduced to a few lonely high-rise buildings standing on the water.

Seemingly unable to bear the loneliness, yet unwilling to part with the former prosperity, Zuo Ling watched helplessly as they collapsed one by one.

The water was dark and murky, and the water column, like a flying dragon, opened its mouth wide, revealing sharp black teeth, devouring everything in the world.

The ancient capital, with a history spanning millennia, fell in a single night.

No one would believe what they were seeing if they hadn't witnessed it with their own eyes.

Zuo Ling's chest was filled with grief, and Xiao Hao's body trembled, his eyes red. Their home was completely gone!

Pei Nansheng piloted the plane, circling in the air, wanting to get closer and get a better look.

Thick, dark clouds rolled in, flashes of lightning streaking across the sky.

Zuo Ling snapped out of her reverie and shouted, "Quick, get out of here!"

Pei Nansheng adjusted his direction, and a blinding bolt of lightning struck down fiercely.

"ah……"

"Woof, woof, woof"

"Woo-chi, woo-chi, woo-chi..."

The screams of different species converged into a single line, piercing the sky.

The deafening roar could not quell the fear of both humans and beasts.

The plane was rocking like a boat, and Pei Nansheng, who was usually calm and composed, stiffly pulled the control stick, beads of sweat dripping down his face.

A series of gleaming, sharp electric blades followed the plane and slashed down.

The magnetic field was disordered, the instrument panel was shaking violently, the alarm red light was flashing sharply, and Pei Nansheng had lost control of the aircraft.

His eyes were bloodshot, he gritted his teeth, pulled down the control stick, and the plane plummeted from the sky as if weightless.

"Ah, ah,..."

"Woof, woof, woof woof..."

"Woo-chi, woo-chi-chi, woo-woo-chi-chi..."

Different voices, the same fear, filled the small space of the airplane.

When the plane was still twenty meters above the horizon, it suddenly leveled off and sped along the horizon.

Lightning glared angrily at the little reptile that had escaped from its claws, its electric tentacles, like the gnarled roots of an old tree, relentlessly slashing downwards.

Zuo Ling, who was so tense she was convulsing, stole a glance at Pei Nansheng, who was sweating profusely as if he had been doused with a bucket of ice water.

With a loud bang, a huge column of water appeared out of thin air directly in front of the plane, so wide that the road ahead could not be seen.

There was no way to go to heaven, and no way to go to hell.

"Ah, ah, ah..."

"Woof, woof, woof woof..."

"Waaah, waaah waaah..."

As the plane was about to crash into the water column, Zuo Ling felt her scalp tingle and her throat tighten from screaming.

The waterfall closed its eyes, covered its ears, and trembled violently.

Xiao Hao and Xue Ye hugged each other, snuggling into each other's arms.

The plane made a sharp turn, narrowly missing the edge of the water column, and the water mist sprayed onto the plane, causing it to stumble.

Zuo Ling could feel the bone-chilling cold of the water mist hitting the plane.

The dragon, unwilling to have failed to harm its prey, roared and swung its massive tentacles, trying to snatch the plane down.

The plane accelerated, accelerated, and the dragon grew smaller and smaller, farther and farther away...

Fifteen minutes later, the dashboard returned to normal, the red warning light went out, and the green light came on.

Zuo Ling opened her eyes to find the sky ablaze with crimson clouds, layers of fiery clouds swirling and gleaming like phoenix flowers in bud, their petals glistening with dew, sweeping away the gloom from everything.

Looking back, the giant water dragon had disappeared, and the vast water surface was calm and still.

The lightning and thunder in the sky transformed into the phoenix flower's heart, quietly blooming.
