Chapter 179 Choice

The villagers' stomachs rumbled under the tarpaulin as they smelled the enticing aroma of roasted meat. One after another, their stomachs rumbled, creating a symphony-like sound.

My body aches, I can't see, I have abrasions all over my body, and my face is covered in tears and snot.

What was most unbearable was the awful smell of roasted meat; the villagers had never felt time drag on so long.

Xiao Hao chewed on the roasted meat while glancing towards the tarpaulin, his eyes darting around:

"Sister, will they suffocate?"

"Won't."

"Then what are we going to do with them?"

"What do you think?" Zuo Ling wanted to test Xiao Hao.

Xiao Hao frowned, looking troubled, and asked uncertainly, "Kill him?"

Zuo Ling's eyelids twitched, and she began to understand why Pei Nansheng hadn't gone too far with the villagers.

Xiao Hao is not even 9 years old yet. The world is black and white for him, and which way he goes is entirely up to him.

The little guy was born into a bad family and was caught up in the apocalypse. Following Pei Nansheng and Zuo Ling, he's either killing people or on his way to kill people. If he's not careful, he might grow up to be a bloodthirsty and ruthless person.

Pei Nansheng wanted to tell the little guy that besides killing, there is also tolerance and kindness.

The waterfall was startled and listless; it only took a few bites and then stopped eating.

Carefree on this snowy night, I wolfed down my food.

Zuo Ling and Pei Nansheng's good mood was largely ruined, and they lost interest.

Suddenly, in the snowy night, it pricked up its ears, growled in its throat, and leaned forward in a defensive posture.

Pei Nansheng and Zuo Ling are both people with keen senses, and they both sensed that someone was approaching, and that there were two of them.

Zuo Ling waved her hand, sweeping the dining table and food into the space, sending the waterfall in along with them.

Bang! The bullet came hurtling through the air, and the three people and the beast dodged to avoid it.

Bang, bang, two more bullets.

Pei Nansheng fired back, and taking advantage of the enemy being suppressed, Zuo Ling swiftly darted out in the direction of the shot, rushing forward with a roar.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, three gleaming darts pierced flesh, and someone cried out in pain. Zuo Ling then shot out the Immortal Binding Rope.

Two men with fierce looks were tied up, and their guns lay on the ground.

Zuo Ling kicked them twice, sending them flying several meters away. The heavy objects landed on the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

On a snowy night, it pounced on a person and bit them indiscriminately.

Drinking and staying overnight in the snow, Zuo Ling didn't want to get her mouth stained with human blood; it was too disgusting.

The snowy night let out two soft whimpers, staring pitifully at Zuo Ling. "Fresh meat! Why won't you let me bite you?"

Picking up the two men's guns, Zuo Ling kicked them back like a football, ruining her good mood for camping. She had to suffer a little.

She played a trick, kicking one person away first, and then another person threw the ball at the first person, causing both of them to gasp for breath in pain. The next round of the ball-kicking game continued.

You hit me, I hit you, we hit each other until we were both bruised and swollen, and neither of us could make a sound from the pain.

His head and face were covered in blood, but his eyes remained fierce.

Zuo Ling checked their magazines; there were 15 bullets left.

Upon hearing the gunshots, the villagers knew that someone had come to rescue them.

The woman who had snatched the rabbit cried out, "Old Liu, is that you? Help me, please help me!"

Nodding towards the distant tarpaulin, Zuo Ling asked, "Want to save them?"

The two men who came were Liu Da, the man who had snatched the woman with the rabbit, and Liu Er, Liu Da's younger brother.

The two were ruthless and vicious, and were local bullies.

People like them actually live quite comfortably after the apocalypse.

Some villagers told Liu Da that his wife and many other villagers had been detained by outsiders.

The two Liu brothers were used to being domineering and couldn't stand being humiliated. Relying on the guns they had, they never suffered a loss.

Unexpectedly, he ran into a tough nut to crack and was completely subdued by a fierce woman.

"Silence means they don't want to save him, huh? So cold-blooded, they wouldn't even watch someone die, they don't deserve to live..."

He released the safety and pressed the muzzle of the gun against Liu Er's temple.

Liu Er quickly said, "Help, help, we're here to save people."

"Oh?" Zuo Ling brandished the pistol, her finger sliding back and forth on the trigger.

The two men stared intently at her finger, fearing that Zuo Ling might accidentally press the trigger.

"Save us, but..." Zuo Ling drawled, "Using guns against us is a cardinal sin for me. Only one of you can live. Choose. Who lives? Who dies?"

The two looked at each other, then looked at Zuo Ling. Zuo Ling had a smile on her lips, but her eyes were so cold they could freeze a person to death.

Many had died at their hands. The look in their eyes when they were killing was completely different from the look when they didn't want to kill. Knowing that Zuo Ling wasn't joking, an inscrutable emotion flowed between the two brothers.

He untied the Immortal Binding Rope and threw them a butcher knife. "Hurry up, I don't have the patience. If you don't do it, I'll give each of you a bullet."

Pei Nansheng sighed inwardly, his compassionate heart disappointed.

If the two brothers hadn't come, she could have let the villagers off the hook. But since Liu Da and Liu Er had drawn their guns and were coming to take their lives, she naturally couldn't leave any potential dangers for herself.

Freed from his restraints, Liu Da was the first to grab the butcher knife. His first instinct was to control Zuo Ling, but the dark muzzle of the gun was like a bucket of ice water that jolted him awake.

A wise man doesn't fight a losing battle, so he tried to run away, but judging from the speed at which Zuo Ling had subdued them, he couldn't outrun Zuo Ling at all.

A bullet struck right in front of their feet.

"What, aren't you going to make a move? Do you want me to do it myself?" Zuo Ling urged.

Knowing they couldn't escape, the fierce woman didn't say anything more. There was also a tall man standing next to her. That man was a very accurate shot, and he kept them from showing their faces, which is why the fierce woman easily captured them.

The big dog was also very fierce; if the shrewish woman hadn't stopped them, they would have died in the dog's mouth.

Liu Da closed his eyes briefly, his gaze turning fierce as he looked at his younger brother, Liu Er. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'll have to live," he thought, and swung his knife at Liu Er.

Unexpectedly, his brother actually swung his knife at him. Liu Er was so shocked that he couldn't dodge and was stabbed in the abdomen. "Brother, you..."
