Time was of the essence, and neither of them were the type to dawdle, so they each chose a direction and drove away.
Thousands of miles away, in Shu Prefecture.
A tall, gaunt old man dressed in a black robe suddenly opened his eyes, calculated with his fingers, and cursed, "Fool, another failure."
He stood up and paced a few steps, his deep eyes filled with a cold and ruthless glint, yet his voice remained calm and even:
"I underestimated those two brats. Eight superhumans couldn't even bring them back. Hmph, interesting."
There was a moment of silence in the room. "Someone come here."
A figure gracefully entered, cupped his hands in greeting, and asked, "Elder, what are your orders?"
"Send the Twelve Silver Guards to capture Pei Nansheng and Zuo Ling for me. Remember, I want them alive, not dead."
The man looked up in surprise. Two traitors, yet they dared to send out the Twelve Silver Guards to arrest someone? Were they even worthy?!
But he knew the old man was a man of his word, so he composed himself, bowed his head, and replied, "Yes."
Xiao Hao and Xue Ye were hanging on a dead tree. Xue Ye released its paws, jumped down easily, and barked at Xiao Hao a few times.
Fortunately, both he and Xueye were carrying first-aid kits when they left the base.
He fumbled for the machete in his backpack, chopped off the tree branch, and fell from a great height. Even though Xiao Hao used a clever technique, his feet still ached from the impact.
Looking around, all he saw was unfamiliarity. Embracing the snowy night, Xiao Hao murmured to himself:
"We got separated from our older brother and sister. Which way should we go, or should we just wait here?"
Woof, woof, woof, of course we're going to find them.
Xiao Hao's eyes reddened. He thought he was so great because even the older brothers and uncles in the planting corps couldn't beat him. But after witnessing the battle between superhumans, he realized the difference in their abilities. He didn't even have the right to participate in his older brothers' and sisters' battles.
She hugged Xueye's neck tighter, "It's okay, I have you with me."
Xiao Hao decided to wait for his older brother and sister.
The weather was hot, and no plants grew. It was hard to find even a shady spot. We walked quite a distance before finally finding a secluded place.
Several idle men were lying idly in the shade, enjoying the cool air.
As he approached, Xiao Hao noticed someone and turned to leave. The idler spotted Xue Ye and jumped up, shouting, "Hey, Big Dog, guys, come eat!"
"There's also a little baby with delicate skin, hahaha, I'm lucky today."
Suddenly separated from his older brother and sister, Xiao Hao was depressed and stared at the few clueless creatures with a tense little face.
"Hey, the little brat's glaring at us, guys, how about we gouge his eyes out and use them as a snack with our drinks?"
"Haha, great idea!"
"The baby has delicate skin and tender flesh, so it should taste good."
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Xiao Hao silently counted the heads and stretched his arms and legs.
One of them, who had some sense, said, "Hey guys, this kid's got some skills. Be careful, don't misjudge him."
Some people scoffed: "What great abilities could a little brat who hasn't even grown his first hair possibly have?"
As the five people drew closer to Xiao Hao, he gathered his strength, performed a somersault, grabbed one of them by the neck, and twisted his neck by crossing his legs.
He moved, and the snowy night moved too, lunging towards the person closest to him.
He was so terrified by the apes on a snowy night that he felt extremely humiliated and desperately needed a fight to restore his prestige.
With a howl, it bit through the man's throat, splattering blood all over its face.
The situation changed in an instant. One man frantically raised his gun, and Xiao Hao threw a dart at him, which struck him squarely in the wrist.
He cried out in pain and dropped the gun.
